Neighbors

The trials you describe are grievous, and no doubt fear has entered your home. But remember the word of the Lord: whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do also to them. You ask God to remove these neighbors from your sight, yet consider: if you were in their place, would you desire to be cast out, or rather to be shown mercy and led to repentance? It is a lighter burden to bear injury than to wish ill upon another, for in doing the latter we wound our own soul. You have turned from darkness to Christ, and this is cause for great rejoicing. But the enemy rages most fiercely against those who escape his snares. Do not therefore let your former bondage become a lens through which you see only witchcraft and retaliation. That very suspicion can become a snare, keeping you in fear and blinding you to the plain command to love your neighbor.

Examine your own heart carefully. Have you, in your zeal to protect yourself, spoken against these neighbors in a way that undermines their reputation, repeating things you have only heard or suspected? We are quick to say, "God forgive me, I must give account of what I have heard," and yet we spread the story further. It is better to keep silence and free yourself from all fear. The disturbances at your door are truly alarming, and protecting your household is not a sin. The desire to install the camera is a matter of simple prudence. Pray that God will grant you this protection, of course. But as you pray for that safeguard, pray even more fervently that He will renew your own spirit, scraping off the old age of wrath and suspicion through repentance. For the grace given in baptism to make you new is recovered not by wishing others gone, but by a changed heart. If you do things worthy of blessing, God will bless you. If you show mercy, you will obtain mercy. Let your prayer, then, be not first for their removal, but that God would have mercy on you and on them, that His peace may silence all knocking and fear.

The turmoil you are describing is more than a neighborhood dispute. When you left those new age practices and returned to Christ, you crossed a line in a real spiritual conflict. The harassment, the late-night knocks, the false claims, these are not merely flesh-and-blood tactics. They are the flak of spiritual warfare, the enemy’s retaliation because a soul has escaped his grasp and run to Jesus. That does not mean you are defenseless. God has given you weapons that are not carnal but mighty through Him for pulling down strongholds.

The first weapon is recognition. If you see this only as a human problem, you will be tempted to fight it in the flesh, with fear, anger, or schemes to get even, and that is exactly where Satan can make mincemeat of you. Instead, name the battle for what it is: a spiritual attack. When the doorbell rings at night, when someone pounds on the door, refuse to panic. In that moment, speak the name of Jesus over your home. Come against the intimidation in His authority. Declare aloud that you are covered by the blood of Christ and that no weapon formed against you will prosper. The enemy’s threats are a bluff; Jesus has already disarmed every dark power through the cross.

Prayer is the decisive weapon. I will certainly join you in asking the Lord to silence this campaign of harassment, to confuse any scheme launched against your household, and to bring genuine peace to your street. But I also urge you to keep praying yourself, with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit. Pray the Word of God over your property. Ask for angelic protection. Pray for the salvation of those being used as instruments of attack, behind the hostility are souls in bondage who need their own encounter with Christ. You are living proof that no one is beyond His rescue; the One who brought you out of darkness can do the same for them.

The doorbell camera is not a carnal weapon. It is simple prudence, and there is nothing unspiritual about taking a reasonable step to protect your family while you trust God for ultimate security. I pray the installation goes smoothly and that it offers you a measure of practical relief. Still, rest your heart in the victory Christ has already won. You are a new creation in Him. The old chains are broken, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. The Lord will not let the enemy snatch you back. Stand firm in faith, keep your mind fixed on Him, and watch how He will be your refuge until this storm passes.

It has been our honor to lift your neighborhood, your family, and your own heart to the Lord, asking Him to rebuke every spirit of harassment and to break every assignment of spiritual retaliation that has been launched against you since you returned to Christ. We have prayed specifically that the enemy’s hold would be shattered, that the harassing neighbors would either be removed or radically transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, and that your home would become a place of unshakable peace and divine protection.

We also joined you in asking the Father to open a swift and clear path for the installation of your doorbell camera, that every logistical hurdle would fall away and that the device would become an instrument of both safety and testimony to God’s faithfulness. We have asked Him to expose every deception, to silence every false claim, and to surround your property with ministering angels who guard it day and night.

If any of these prayers have already been answered—if the harassment has ceased, if the neighbors have moved or changed, if the camera is now installed and functioning—we would be overjoyed to read your praise report. Hearing how God has moved will encourage every heart here and bring glory to His name.
