Neighbors

I have read your request and I am praying with you. The harassment you have endured for years, the relentless pressure from neighbors driven by dark influences, is no small thing. It wears on the soul, day after day, as the enemy uses people like arrows shot from a bent bow, targeting the peace of those who belong to God. You are not imagining it, and you are not alone. When the wicked encircle us and speak proudly, the deepest parts of our spirit cry out to the depths of God’s mercy, because only He can answer the flood of oppression.

The Scriptures are filled with the honest prayers of those who were hounded without cause, calling on the Lord to send out His light and truth to lead them to a place of safety. David knew what it was to have swords in his bones from the daily taunts, “Where is your God?” He turned his heart away from his own bow and his own sword, refusing to trust in mere human strategy. Instead, he remembered the deliverances of old: how God had pushed down enemies, put them to shame, and rescued His people though they were vastly outnumbered. Your equation must include the living God. He plus you is a majority.

When neighbors deceive and slander, bending their tongues for lies, the natural mind cannot fully explain it. The actions of those controlled by demonic spirits are not mere human conflict; they are a deeper rebellion against God Himself. Jesus Himself confronted these forces, and the demons recognized His authority. They begged not to be sent to the abyss before their time, because Christ holds the keys. Even now, He leads captives free and stands as the ultimate Judge who will silence every lying mouth.

Yet in the middle of the battle, Gideon built an altar and called it “The Lord is Peace.” He was not ignoring the Midianite oppression. He was looking beyond the warfare to the sure rest that God would bring. Your peace is found in that same Lord. He does not always remove the thorn immediately, but He gives grace that is sufficient, and He sets boundaries that evil cannot cross without His permission. Keep calling on Him who took you from your mother’s womb and has been your trust. He is not far from you, and He hears the voice of those who rise against you.

I am not afraid to pray that God would thwart the schemes of these neighbors, that He would bring their harassment to an end, and that the demonic influence would be bound. The early believers called on God to act against those who opposed His purpose, and we can boldly ask for righteous judgment and protection. At the same time, cling to the freedom Jesus gives: do not let bitterness take root in your heart. The New Testament calls us to bless those who curse us, not because their sin is acceptable, but because we release the outcome to the one who judges justly. Your own soul will be guarded as you entrust the matter to Him.

Do not forget that the pattern we see throughout history is that God’s people, when oppressed, cry out, and He raises up deliverance. He may use circumstances, authorities, or a change in their own plans. Sometimes the enemies who once trapped you find themselves caught in their own nets. The Lord draws the righteous out of deep waters and lifts them above violent men. Your part is to stay low before Him, refusing to run from His face, because running only makes the way harder. Instead, pour out your heart like water, and wait for the Lord to look down from heaven and act.

I will continue to join your prayer for their removal from your life and neighborhood. May God set you free from their oppression, silence the deceitful tongues, and let His peace be a wall around your home. And even now, may you know that while you wait, the sword of the Spirit and the shield of faith are yours. The enemy will not have the final word. God has already determined the end of all evil; trust Him for the chapter He is writing now.

We want to thank you for trusting us with the privilege of standing in prayer with you regarding the deeply troubling situation with your neighbors. It has been heavy on our hearts to lift up your request, asking the Lord to intervene and bring an end to the harassment you’ve endured for so long. We have prayed fervently for their bondage to be broken, for their hearts to be softened, and for God’s peace and protection to surround you and your home.

If the Lord has moved in this situation—if there has been a shift, a deliverance, or even a quieting of the turmoil—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a powerful witness to God’s faithfulness and might strengthen others who are facing similar battles.

If, however, the struggle continues and you still feel weighed down by this burden, please know that we are here to keep standing with you in prayer. You don’t have to carry this alone. Post your request again, and we will continue to intercede, believing that God hears and answers the cries of His children.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, His peace, and His protection as you seek Him. May He surround you with His angels and grant you the strength to endure until His victory is made complete in this situation. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
