Infallibility of Scripture: Encourages to Persevere, Unity in Christ, Fills Us All Joy & Peace in Believing, Abound in Hope Rom 15:4-6, Rom 15:13... Father, Thank You for not only inspiring The Scriptures, 2 Tim 3:16, but for guarding and preserving them through the ages by committing them to painstaking writing from the corruption of man and deceitfulness of the serpent for infallible accuracy -- Surely God Almighty is able to keep Your Word pure, as it is written, Luke 16:17"But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for a single stroke of a pen to drop out of the Law," Matthew 24:35, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away," Luke 21:33, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away," Psalm 12:6, The words of the LORD are flawless, like silver refined in a furnace, like gold purified sevenfold," Isaiah 40:8,"The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever,” 1 Peter 1:25, "For 'The word of the Lord stands forever.' And this is the word that was proclaimed to you." "For everything written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant us to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord we may with one voice glorify Him as God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ," Rom 15:4-6. We join with you in praising the Almighty God for the infallibility and enduring nature of His Holy Word. The Scriptures are indeed a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105), preserved by the power of God through the ages. The very words of Jesus Himself affirm that not even the smallest detail of God’s Word will pass away until all is fulfilled (Matthew 5:18). What a comfort it is to know that the Word of God stands forever, unshaken by the shifting sands of time or the deceitful schemes of the enemy.

The Scriptures are not merely ancient texts but living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit (Hebrews 4:12). They are God-breathed, profitable for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness, that we may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Through them, we find instruction, perseverance, encouragement, and hope, gifts that sustain us in every season of life.

We are also reminded of the unity we have in Christ, called to be of the same mind with one another, glorifying God with one voice (Romans 15:5-6). This unity is not a superficial agreement but a deep, Spirit-wrought harmony rooted in the truth of God’s Word. It is through this unity that the world will know that we are His disciples (John 13:35). The God of hope fills us with all joy and peace in believing, so that we may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). This hope is not a fleeting emotion but an anchor for the soul, firm and secure (Hebrews 6:19).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your infallible Word, preserved and protected through the ages. We praise You for its power to instruct, correct, and encourage us, filling us with hope and unity in Christ. Lord, we ask that You would deepen our love for Your Word, that we may meditate on it day and night, allowing it to shape our thoughts, words, and actions. Guard our hearts from the deception of the enemy, who seeks to distort or diminish the truth of Scripture. May we stand firm on Your promises, knowing that Your Word will never pass away.

Father, we pray for unity among Your people. Where there is division, bring reconciliation. Where there is confusion, bring clarity. Where there is doubt, bring faith. Let us be of one mind, glorifying You with one voice, so that the world may see Your love and truth. Fill us with all joy and peace in believing, that we may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Strengthen us to persevere in faith, even in the face of trials, knowing that Your Word is our sure foundation.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Living Word, who is the way, the truth, and the life. Amen.

The prayer that ascends, laden with those infallible promises from Romans, is a sweet savor before the throne. It is well to lay hold of that mighty truth, for the glorious truth of the Final Perseverance of the Saints has survived controversy and is the cherished belief of the children of God. This is no mere wish, but a certainty flowing from the nature of the life imparted at regeneration, for God has implanted such a wondrous life in us in bringing us out of darkness into His marvelous light; He has begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. He will not depart from them and they shall not depart from Him, what can be a greater assurance of their perseverance even to the end? The purpose of God secures this, and the effectual redemption which Christ has worked out for them is the seal of it.

Yet while you plead for perseverance and unity, you rightly couple it with a plea for joy and peace. And here is a point to guard most jealously. Joy and peace are the soul’s flower, and if you get faith into the ground, joy and peace will come of it. But if you wait for joy and peace and afterward trust, you go the wrong way to work, and put the cart before the horse. The text speaks of joy and peace in believing. Faith that looks to Christ brings these as a consequence. There are many whose joy springs from a mistake, a false peace resting upon the sand of their own imaginations. I like joy and peace, but I like better still that sacred faith which brings them. It is pleasant to read and think about joy, but to be filled with joy and peace through believing is a far more satisfying thing! The joy of the Lord is your strength, your beauty, your charm. He desires you to be joy-full, for when you joy and rejoice, you glorify God and prove the reality of your faith.

And what springs from this joy and peace in believing? It is an abounding hope. For the Christian always has a remainder of joy which shall be his in due time. There is no hope for you in yourself, but there is hope for you in Him whom God has provided to be the Savior of such as you. I remember well that in a moment, no sooner had I looked than I had joy and peace. Those wounds of Christ still stream with mercy; that head crowned with thorns still beams with the splendor of grace! This is the joy of hope, the hope which makes not ashamed. Our hope is no dream, as sure as we are trusting in Christ, we will be with Him before long. His joy shall never utterly fail him; he shall always have a sufficient measure of hope to enable him to keep his lamp alight in the darkest night.

You have come to the right source for this hope to be created within you. Nothing gives Him more joy than to have a saint resting completely upon Him without doubt or fear. He can create joy and peace in your heart right now by the power of His almighty grace. He speaks and it is done; His word runs very swiftly. His commanding voice says, "Comfort you, comfort you, My people"; it is a creative fiat from the lips of Christ, creating hope where there seemed to be none. Drink of this truth, drink even to the full, and there shall be joy in heaven and joy on earth over sinners saved and saints made glad. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. Amen.
