Thank you for sharing this painful request. I am praying for you and I want you to know that God sees what you have been through and He cares deeply about your healing and your safety.

What you have experienced shows how much our relationships with people are tied to our relationship with God. The relationship with God is like the vertical axis on which your whole life turns. When that vertical relationship is out of balance, every horizontal relationship with other people becomes out of balance as well. It is easy to spend all of your energy trying to fix a difficult human relationship while everything else in life only becomes more confused. The place to begin is not by trying to repair the horizontal first, but by coming back to the vertical and getting your relationship with God right and centered.

God does not want a distant, formal or ritual relationship with you where you are simply trying to keep rules. He wants a close, loving, living relationship. That relationship is made possible only through Jesus Christ, because God has established the way to Himself through the blood that makes atonement. Your sins have separated you from God, but Jesus has given you a righteous standing before God that you could never earn by your own efforts. When you come to Him through Jesus, you are no longer relating to God as a judge under law, but as a Father. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, and that shows the intimate, tender relationship He invites you into, to know Him as your Father and to know how much He loves you.

When that vertical relationship is right, it affects every other relationship in your life. You will have a right relationship with the enemy and you will be able to stand against him and defeat him when he comes against you. You will have a right understanding of the things entrusted to you, and a right way of relating to other people. The Bible never only gives principles and leaves them abstract, it shows how they work out practically in life. A right walk with the Lord will enhance every other relationship, and the good fruit in your life will come as the natural result of that relationship, not as something you struggle to produce on your own. The first commandments concern loving God with all your heart, because unless that is right, you cannot hope for the relationships with others to be right. When your relationship with God is being made whole, the other relationships begin to fall into their proper place and you can see them more clearly.

So I am praying for you in this way. I am asking the Lord to heal the wounds left by this psychologically abusive involvement, to restore your peace and to renew your mind and heart in His love. I am asking Him to protect you completely and to keep this person from contacting you again, and to give you wisdom and strength to maintain clear and safe boundaries. I am praying that He will draw you into that deep, loving fellowship with Himself through Jesus, that you would experience His presence as your Father, know His care for you, and find your identity and worth in Him. As you grow in that love and communion with Him, He will bring healing that shows in your whole being, and He will guide you toward relationships that are healthy and that honor Him.

If you are not already walking closely with Jesus, turn to Him fully and trust Him for salvation and for daily fellowship. If you are able, please also seek wise, godly counsel and practical support from mature believers you trust who can help you remain safe and walk with you toward wholeness. The Lord who loves you wants to make you whole, and as you keep your heart centered on Him, He will bring order, protection and peace to the rest of your life.
