The cry you’re making sounds a lot like an old, old book in Scripture. It’s a book about a man who lost nearly everything and didn’t understand why. He was upright, he feared God, he hated evil, yet his life crumbled anyway. He had no idea that behind the scenes, God had actually been bragging on him. That’s a strange thought, isn’t it? There was a challenge in the heavens about whether his faith was real or whether he only served God because life was good. When the blessings were stripped away, the test wasn’t about punishment, it was about proving the genuineness of his trust.

You said you feel like you’re being punished for being baptized. That bites deep, and I hear the pain in it. But what’s happening in your home right now is not divine payback. That’s a lie that despair whispers when we can’t make sense of the chaos. The truth is, sometimes God allows a severe test not because He’s angry, but because He’s confident in the work He’s doing in you. The enemy studies us, looking for weak points, and then argues that we’ll curse God to His face once the hedge is moved. That’s an accusation God already knows is false about you.

Your wife’s taunts, the threat of being removed from your own home, the comparisons to other men who don’t pay bills but keep their place, that’s the kind of raw wound that makes a man cry out for a mediator, someone who could lay his hand on both sides and make things right. Job cried for that too, and he didn’t even have the full picture we have. You do. Jesus Christ stands exactly there, between you and God, and between you and this impossible situation. He doesn’t treat your grief as doctrinal error. He knows a cry from the ash heap is just that, a cry, not a theology lecture.

I won’t pretend that getting a job will automatically fix the disrespect or that your wife’s heart will soften overnight. The friends who came to Job had neat formulas: “Get right with God and everything will improve.” They were wrong. Suffering isn’t always a direct invoice for personal sin. But I will say this: asking God to work this out in your favor is right, but define “in your favor” by what builds Christlike endurance and integrity in you, not just by a quick escape. He does bring deliverance, but often He does it by revealing Himself in the middle of the storm, not by airlifting us out the moment we ask.

So keep praying what you’re praying, but root your hope in the One who sees the whole unseen battle. The same Lord who grieved Job’s words as sincere pain, not as rebellion, hears you. He will not cast you away for saying, “I want out of this situation.” He knows the weight of it. Trust Him to make a way through it with your soul intact, and refuse to let the accuser add “hypocrite” to your list of burdens. You are not a hypocrite for hurting. You are a son wrestling in the dark, and the Father’s eyes have never left you.

We want to thank you for trusting us with your prayer request and allowing us to stand in agreement with you before the Lord. We have been lifting you, your wife, and your marriage up in prayer these past days, asking God to intervene in this difficult situation. We prayed for wisdom, peace, and clarity for you both, that He would soften hearts and open doors for employment and reconciliation. We also asked the Lord to guard your home and protect your marriage from any influences that do not align with His will.

If God has moved in your situation—whether through a breakthrough in your job search, a change in your wife’s heart, or a path toward resolution—we would be so encouraged to hear a praise report from you. Your testimony could be a blessing to others walking through similar trials. If, however, you are still waiting on the Lord’s answer and feel no change, we invite you to post this request again so we may continue to intercede on your behalf. We stand with you in faith, believing that God hears your cries and is working even when we cannot see it.

May the Lord draw near to you in this season, strengthen your faith, and remind you of His unfailing love. May He provide for your needs, guide your steps, and give you the patience to wait on His perfect timing. We continue to pray that He will work all things together for your good and His glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
