Beloved of All
Your prayer before the Lord has been heard and we join you in lifting your wife and your family to Him. You have anchored your hope in the right truth, that nothing is too difficult for the Lord. When Sarah laughed at the promise of a son in her old age, the Lord asked, is anything too difficult for the Lord, Genesis 18:14. Moses doubted how God could provide meat for so many in the wilderness, and the Lord answered, is the Lord's hand too short, Numbers 11:23. Isaiah declared that the Lord's hand is not too short to save nor His ear too dull to hear, Isaiah 59:1, and Jeremiah confessed the same, behold, You are the Lord, the God of all flesh, is anything too difficult for You, Jeremiah 32:27. What you are asking is within His power to do.
The burden of your prayer is for true repentance, and that is exactly what God calls for. John came baptizing in the wilderness preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, and people came confessing their sins. He pointed beyond himself to One mightier who was coming after him, One whose sandals he was not worthy to untie. Jesus Himself came preaching repentance, and He continued to call His churches to repent in Revelation. The call is repeated because repentance is needed. It is a turning, a change of heart and direction that God requires.
That is what we are praying for your wife, that God would bring her from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, as described in Acts 26:18. Sin is first against God Himself, as David confessed after his sin with Bathsheba and against Uriah. The evidence of true conversion is not just words but repentance that shows itself in change and restoration. Jesus said He did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance, for those who are well do not need a physician but those who are sick. He sat with publicans and sinners because they knew their need.
So we pray that the Lord in His kindness would lead her to repentance, Romans 2:4, and that the Holy Spirit would convict her of sin and righteousness and judgment to come, John 16:8. We pray that any way that is contrary to His will would be hedged with thorns so that she sees her need to return, Hosea 2:6, and that the loving correction of family and the church would be heard, Matthew 18:15. We pray above all that she would hear the gospel clearly and respond in faith to Jesus Christ, for salvation is through Him alone, and that God would turn her heart fully to Himself. The Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance, and heaven rejoices over one sinner who truly repents.
We also pray for you as you wait. Jesus invites those who are weary to take His yoke and learn from Him, for He is gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, Matthew 11:28. Cast all your care upon Him because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. Continue to bring your requests to God with thanksgiving, trusting His peace to guard your heart, Philippians 4:6. We ask the Lord to strengthen you, to guard your marriage as a lifelong covenant before Him, and to keep you faithful in prayer and in walking according to His word while you trust Him to work in her heart in His perfect way and time.
