Father, thank You for being serious, merciful, and even funny. When Sarah laughed at Your Promise when You told them they'd have a son before year's end, You asked out loud, “Why did Sarah laugh, saying, ‘Shall I actually give birth to a child, when I am so old?’ 14 Is anything too difficult for the LORD? (מֵיְהוָ֖ה Yahweh)?" Gen 18:13-14. You busted her lying, even very graciously letting her off the hook, adding just a pinch of salt when she denied it, saying, "No but you DID laugh," Gen 18:15. You even caused her to get another laugh later on, Gen 21:6-7. We think You're potential for humor is extraordinarily beyond limit.. You just hold it back well

LORD, You've convinced me. Forgive me for doubting. You CERTAINLY know how to reach my wife -- We've been asking for Your mercy and kindness to lead her to repentance, Rom 2:4 -- we've been praying You'd convict her of righteousness, sin and judgement to come, John 16:8 -- we've been praying You hedge her way with thorns, Hos 2:6-7 -- we've been praying You'd use her church and family, Matt 18:15-18 -- we've been praying You give her visions, dreams, prophecies, Joel 2:28-32, that she hears preaching, gets visits from friends, evangelists cross her paths... Pour out some ANSWERS she can't deny -- SEND and evangelist every place she goes! Matt 9:36-37... Some of us have been praying for 2 yrs 8 mo... Let their be preachers on every corner! Let their be dreams every night! HAVE SOME FUN WITH THIS, LORD! Like when the frogs stank and the Egyptians begged Pharaoh! Show Your POWER to her! Grant words of knowledge to be given to people for her, 1 Cor 12:4-8, let everyone prophesy to her the mysteries of her heart until she proclaims, "SURELY GOD IS AMONG YOU, 1 Cor 14:24-25...

Jesus, we take Your yoke upon ourselves and learn from You, for You are gentle and humble in heart, and we indeed find the rest we need for our souls, Matt 11:28-30, as we cast ALL our cares upon You, The LORD, for. You care for us, 1 peter 5:7. Have mercy on us, forgive us for we all doubt at times, guide her, my son, her family, church and US, and turn her from darkness to light, from the power of shatan to God, Acts 26:18-20, for 'Nothing is TOO DIFFICULT for YOU! We join you in lifting up your wife before the throne of grace and we agree with you that nothing is too difficult for the Lord. You have prayed so faithfully and we stand with you now, having heard your heart that has been crying out for two years and eight months, and we thank God that He hears and that His hand is not shortened.

We love how you have recalled the faithfulness of God in Scripture. When Sarah laughed at the promise, the Lord asked, Is anything too hard for Yahweh, Genesis 18:14, and the answer came through Jeremiah, Behold, I am Yahweh, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me, Jeremiah 32:27. The Lord also said to Moses, Is Yahweh's hand too short, Numbers 11:23, and through Isaiah, Behold, Yahweh's hand is not shortened, that it can't save, nor his ear heavy, that it can't hear, Isaiah 59:1. The heart of the king is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires, Proverbs 21:1. What you are asking Him to do in turning your wife from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive remission of sins, Acts 26:18, is exactly what He delights to do, for He desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth, 1 Timothy 2:4, and is patient, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9.

We rejoice with you that one social media profile has been taken down and we agree with you for the total work of God in her heart. We pray that the kindness of God would lead her to repentance, Romans 2:4, and that the Holy Spirit would convict her concerning sin, and concerning righteousness, and concerning judgment, John 16:8. We ask the Lord to hedge up her way with thorns as He promised in Hosea 2:6, so that the paths that lead away from Him and from her marriage become hedged and unsatisfying, and that she would be drawn back. We pray He would use her family, her church, and every faithful witness around her, as in Matthew 18:15, to speak the truth in love, and that He would pour out dreams and visions and send preachers of righteousness across her path, for the harvest indeed is plentiful, but the laborers are few, Matthew 9:37, and that He would grant words of knowledge and prophecy so that the secrets of her heart are revealed and she will fall down and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed, 1 Corinthians 14:25.

We also want to encourage you as a husband in this long season of waiting. God holds marriage as a sacred and lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and we honor you for contending for your marriage rather than abandoning it. The Lord calls husbands to love their wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it, Ephesians 5:25, and to not be bitter against them, Colossians 3:19, and to live with your wife according to knowledge, giving honor to her, 1 Peter 3:7. Continue to walk in gentle and humble love, forgiving as God also in Christ forgave you, Ephesians 4:32, and not giving place to fornication or adultery in thought or deed, but keeping the marriage bed holy, for God will judge the sexually immoral, Hebrews 13:4. Courtship and intimacy belong only within the covenant of marriage, and we encourage you to keep your own heart pure as you pray for her purity and restoration.

Do not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up, Galatians 6:9. The Lord invites you to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7, and to come to Him when you are weary and burdened, for His yoke is easy and His burden is light, Matthew 11:28-30, and to make your requests known to God with thanksgiving, and the peace of God will guard your hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. Ask in faith without wavering, James 1:6, trusting His perfect timing.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, and no one comes to the Father except through Him, John 14:6. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that your wife can be turned from darkness to light.

Father, we come together in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear brother, his wife, his son, and all of their family and church to You. Forgive us where we have doubted and where we have grown faint. Strengthen this husband to love as Christ loves, to be steadfast, patient, and full of grace. Lord, we ask You to do what only You can do. Send Your Spirit to convict and to draw, hedge her way, stop her steps toward darkness, place laborers on every corner of her life, speak to her in dreams and through Your Word and through faithful witnesses, reveal the hidden things of her heart until she can no longer deny that You are God, and grant her repentance unto life. Turn her from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, that she may receive forgiveness of sins through faith in Jesus. Heal this marriage and make it a testimony of Your redeeming power. We were so touched to read your prayer. Two years and eight months is a long time to keep bringing the same dear name before the Lord, and we hear both your confidence in His power and the weariness that can come with waiting.

We love how you notice God's character through it all, His mercy and even His gentle humor with ###, and His patience with Moses and Jeremiah when they doubted. You are honest about your own doubts too, and we are grateful you bring that honestly to Him. He is not put off by honest hearts.

Carrying this for your wife and for your son is heavy. One thing that has helped others in a long season like this is not carrying it alone. If you have one or two trusted, steady believers or a pastor who knows you, let them keep standing with you in prayer so the burden is shared and you have someone to encourage you when the days feel long. Keep resting in Jesus gentleness as you mentioned, casting your cares on Him each day.

Father, we lift this husband and his family to You. You see his wife and his son, You know each heart. Give this brother peace and steadiness as he waits, guard his home, and in Your mercy and perfect timing draw each of them closer to Your light. Lead them with kindness and keep them in Your care. Nothing is too difficult for the Lord, and you have done well to set your anchor upon that sure truth which Sarah and Moses and Jeremiah were taught. He who asked, Is anything too difficult for the Lord, still lives and reigns, His arm is not shortened that it cannot save, nor His ear heavy that it cannot hear. You are right to believe that He is able to reach your wife where you cannot, to hedge her way with thorns, to send His word to her by preaching, by providence, by the still small voice of His Spirit, and to turn her from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God.

Yet let us pray with understanding that the repentance we seek for her is not a carnal repentance wrought by judgments or by fear or by distress alone. Judgments may produce a repentance that is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature, but true repentance, the repentance which is unto life, is the work of the Spirit of God and it gives God glory. It is a godly sorrow for sin that needs not to be repented of, a turning that makes a rainbow with tears of grief for sin and glances of hope at the love of Christ and His great finished work. Scales are at hand to weigh repentance, and the true weight is this, does it lead the soul to look out of self to Christ and to Christ only.

Remember then that such repentance is the gift of God. We are not to preach repentance as Moses preached the law, nor as though a sinner could by himself take the first step toward grace. Repentance is not a preparation for grace, it is the first result of grace working within the soul. Christ is exalted to give repentance as well as remission of sins, and where there is true repentance there is full and free forgiveness through His blood. We must not trust to our repentance, nor even to our faith, but to the finished work of Jesus Christ upon Calvary's tree. Salvation is of the Lord alone. Look unto Him and be saved, for beside Him there is none else. He that believes on Him shall not be ashamed, for to believe on Him is to trust Him, to leave the whole matter of present and eternal salvation in His hands with unquestioning confidence.

Therefore let your prayers be shaped in this way. Ask the Lord that He would grant her repentance unto life, that He would give her that sight of sin which humbles and that sight of Christ which saves, that her sorrow may not be the sorrow of the world which worketh death, but that godly sorrow which glorifies God by confessing that He is just and by fleeing to the mercy provided in His Son. Pray that He would convict her of sin and of righteousness and of judgment to come, and that He would lead her, if she has wandered from the covenant of marriage, to see that marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman before God, and that all that belongs to it is holy within that bond alone. Do not ask God to bless what He calls sin, but ask Him to save from sin, to wash, to cleanse, to restore.

Continue to cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you, and to learn of Christ who is gentle and humble in heart. Pray on, though it has been two years and eight months, for the Lord keeps His own calendar and His word shall come to pass. He can cause a social media door to be shut, and He can shut every false way and open the narrow way. He can send an evangelist to every corner and a dream in the night, but above all He can speak by His word and Spirit and make the heart to hear.

May the Lord grant to you steadfast faith and patience, and keep you from doubting His power or His mercy, and may He uphold you with His free Spirit. And may He, in His sovereign grace, grant to your wife that repentance which existeth unto life and that faith which looks to Jesus only, that she may obtain remission of sins and an inheritance among them which are sanctified. We will join you in asking that He who is the God of all flesh would show His power, not for mirth alone, but for mercy, that she may yet say, Surely God is among you, and give Him glory.

Your prayer offered so long and with so many scriptures has been heard, and your confidence is right that nothing is too difficult for the Lord. As you quoted, when Sarah laughed and when Moses doubted and when Jeremiah wondered at buying a field while the city was given to the Chaldeans, the answer was the same, Is anything too difficult for the Lord, is the Lord's arm too short that it cannot save, is His ear too dull that it cannot hear. That truth stands.

For two years and eight months you have asked for mercy to lead to repentance, for the Spirit to convict of sin and righteousness and judgment, for the Lord to hedge the way with thorns, to use family and the church, to send preaching and faithful witnesses. Continue in that prayer without growing weary. God is able to reach her where you cannot, and He delights to do so through Christ who is the Mediator between the Father and us. The Father was wroth against us as strangers, and the Son became the Mediator and prevailed with Him, so that those who were far off and alienated might be called and counted worthy of blessing if they obey.

Hold fast to what marriage is. Marriage is a bond ordained of God, honorable and pure, given to preserve holiness and to keep the body from defilement. You are bound to a wife, and the word to you is, seek not to be loosed. Do not grow cold or seek another way, but embellish your marriage with chasteness, gravity and order, with prayer and patience. The profit of marriage is to keep the body pure and to reflect faithfulness, and that witness itself preaches. Live chastely with your wife in hope, and let your own life be gentle and humble as you take the yoke of Christ and learn from Him, casting all your cares upon Him because He cares for you.

Pray now not only for tears but for true repentance. Esau sought the blessing with tears yet found no place of repentance because his heart did not truly turn, and he intended to kill his brother afterward. God looks for a turning from darkness to light, from the power of Satan to God, that brings deeds worthy of repentance as you asked from Acts 26. That turning comes through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and through a forsaking of what is impure. Marriage does not give holiness by itself, but it preserves the holiness that comes by faith when it is kept undefiled and not given over to fornication or adultery.

So I will pray with you. Father, nothing is too difficult for You. You are the God of all flesh. Have mercy on this wife, on this husband, on their son and family and church. Lead her by Your kindness to repentance, convict her by Your Spirit, block paths that lead away from You and open the way that leads to You. Send faithful preaching and true friends who will speak the truth in love, and let Your Word be heard clearly. Grant to her a true turning, that she may receive forgiveness of sins through faith in Christ and walk in holiness within the covenant of marriage as You ordained it from the beginning, one man and one woman in a lifelong bond. Guard this husband, give him rest for his soul as he waits on You, and keep him steadfast, prayerful and kind. Let Your peace which passes understanding guard his heart.
