We hear your very urgent cry and we stand with you before the Lord in this deep pain over your marriage, and we grieve with you over the sin that is wounding your heart and your home.

We affirm what Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman and it is to be held in honor by all. We believe God ordained marriage to reflect His faithfulness, and sexual intimacy is holy only within that covenant. What you describe, your husband having sex with and looking upon other women, is adultery, and the Lord calls it sin. Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Exodus 20:14 says you shall not commit adultery. Matthew 5:28 says that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says flee sexual immorality, every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Social media addiction and lustful looking are not harmless, they feed the flesh and open the door to further unfaithfulness. Ephesians 5:3 says but sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints.

We also hear your anguish in asking that your husband would have no peace or joy until he repents and that he would be shamed and brought to his knees. We understand that cry comes from deep hurt, and we gently encourage you to release vengeance to the Lord while praying for godly sorrow that leads to true repentance. Romans 12:19 says vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. 2 Corinthians 7:10 says for godly sorrow produces repentance to salvation, which brings no regret, but the sorrow of the world produces death. Our desire together is not to see him tormented, but to see the Holy Spirit convict him, soften his heart, and draw him to fully surrender to Jesus, so that he turns from all sin with a new heart. Psalm 51:10 says create in me a clean heart, O God, renew a right spirit within me. 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we are saved and no other way to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only through Jesus that your husband can be forgiven, cleansed, and made new, and it is only through Jesus that you can find peace in this storm.

We encourage you to continue to pray with love that seeks his restoration, to guard your own heart from bitterness, to seek wise and godly counsel from a pastor or mature believers, and to set biblical boundaries that honor the Lord and protect your marriage. Ephesians 4:32 says be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Philippians 4:6-7 says in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift this dear sister and her husband to you. Lord, you see every tear, every wound, and every sin done in secret. We ask that you would convict her husband by your Holy Spirit of all sexual immorality, lust, unfaithfulness, and addiction to social media and every other sin, not to destroy him but to bring him to true repentance. Lord, arrest his heart and spirit now, open his eyes to see the gravity of adultery against you and against his wife, and grant him godly sorrow that leads to full repentance and turning away from all wrongdoing. Create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him, deliver him from lust and temptation, and help him to flee from every appearance of evil. We pray that you would shut every door to other women permanently and that you would restore faithfulness, purity, and self control in him. We pray that you would draw him to fully give his life to Jesus, to be washed by the blood of Christ and to walk in newness of life.

Lord, we also lift this wife to you, comfort her broken heart, guard her mind, and fill her with your peace that surpasses understanding. Give her wisdom, strength, and discernment, surround her with godly counsel and support, and help her to pray with love while trusting justice to you. Restore this marriage, Lord, if it be your will, make it a godly marriage that honors you, where husband loves his wife as Christ loved the church and wife is loved and cherished in purity and truth. Have your way in every single part of this husband and this marriage, now and forevermore. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear the urgency and the ache in your prayer. Wanting your marriage to be faithful and whole is a good and painful longing, and it makes sense you are crying out for God to intervene so strongly.

When betrayal and addiction feel so close, it can be overwhelming to carry alone. We want to stand with you in prayer, and also encourage you not to walk through this without support close by. If you have a trusted pastor, counselor, or mature believing friend or family member you can confide in, please reach out to them this week and let them know what you are facing. Having one or two safe people who know your story, can pray with you regularly, and help you think through wise next steps can make a real difference while you wait on the Lord.

We also encourage you to care for your own heart and safety in this season, staying connected to community and to the Lord in prayer, even when answers feel slow.

Father, we bring this wife and her husband before You in Jesus name. We ask You to work in his heart with Your conviction and mercy, to turn him from sin and toward You, and to bring healing where there has been hurt. Give her Your peace, wisdom, strength and clear guidance for each day, and surround her with faithful support. Have Your way in both of their lives according to Your will. Amen.

Your earnest and anguished cry has been heard, and we join you in bringing this burden before the throne of grace. The sorrow you express over unfaithfulness in marriage is one that the Lord Himself marks with great seriousness, for He has ordained marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and has given the marriage bed to be kept pure within that covenant alone. To wander from it is not a light thing, for as Scripture teaches, God was a Husband unto His people in special love and faithfulness, and the sin of an unfaithful heart is grievous before Him.

We understand the urgency with which you long to see your husband turned from sin, from every form of impurity and unfaithfulness, from addiction to that which feeds temptation, and from all that dishonors Christ. It is right to pray that he would be convicted of sin and brought to repentance, for without repentance there is no remission, and where there is true repentance there is full and free forgiveness through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Yet we would gently guide your prayers according to what the Word teaches concerning true repentance. There is a repentance that is of the flesh, wrought by judgment and terror alone, which trembles but does not transform. Such a repentance may shame a man and take away his peace for a season, but it does not give God glory and it does not save. The repentance which is unto life is a different thing altogether. It is the gift of God, preached in the name of Jesus, inseparable from faith in Christ. It weeps and abhors past sin because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and it turns from present sin because of the love of God who died for us. It looks out of self to Christ and to Christ only, it yields works meet for repentance, and it lasts, for repentance lives as long as faith lives.

The goodness of God, more than the lash of judgment, is what most sweetly and surely leads men to such repentance. The Lord does not merely drive men as Cain was driven, but He draws them. He draws with cords of love, with longsuffering, with the sight of His holiness and His mercy in Christ. Therefore we do not pray that your husband would simply have no peace or joy as an end in itself, but that the Holy Spirit would so work in his heart that he would see his sin as committed against so holy, so good, so glorious a Being as God Himself, and that seeing it, he would flee to Christ for mercy and find true peace in forgiveness.

So let us pray together not for a forced or carnal sorrow, but for that holy, healthy, heavenly repentance which is wrought in the renewed heart by the Spirit of God.

We pray that the Lord would arrest your husband by His Spirit, open his eyes to the exceeding sinfulness of sin, and grant him the gift of repentance unto life. That He would turn him from every unfaithful thought, word and deed, cause him to forsake all impurity and to cleave to his marriage covenant alone, to put away that which ensnares him, whether it be the lust of the eyes or the vanity of social media, and to walk in purity and truth. That the Lord would create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him, and that faith would admit Christ to be the sole Master of his heart. That his repentance would not be for a moment, but practical and lasting, bringing forth fruit and giving God all the glory.

And we pray also for you, that in this great trial you may be kept close to Christ, that you may know His sustaining grace, His wisdom for each step, and the comfort of His presence. Seek the counsel and covering of faithful pastors and mature believers in your local church who can walk with you, help you to establish godly boundaries, and bear this burden with you before the Lord. Continue to pray that God's will be done in every part of your husband's life, always and forever, not as a vague wish but as a plea that Christ would reign over him in saving grace.

May the Lord who is able to restore even those who have wandered far, and to make it as though He had not cast aside, show His power to save and to sanctify. We ask this not because shame itself saves, but because Christ saves, and where He is received, repentance and remission of sins are surely found.

In the name of Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation, we commit you both to the mercy and the transforming power of God.
