We join you in lifting up your marriage before the Lord and we hear the deep pain and urgency in your heart for your husband to be fully faithful to you and to your marriage covenant alone.

We stand with you for the sanctity of your marriage, for God Himself established marriage as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman and what God has joined together He intends to remain united. As Jesus taught, So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart Matt 19:6. We also take seriously the call to purity within marriage, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Heb 13:4. Any involvement with other women, whether in physical acts, in photographs, videos, messages, calls, or even in the thoughts and desires of the heart, is adultery and is sin before God and grieves Him and wounds the marriage. We also hear your desire for every soul tie and memory and attraction to be broken, and Scripture warns us, Don’t you know that he who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her, for, The two, he says, will become one flesh 1 Cor 6:16, and Flee sexual immorality Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Cor 6:18.

We gently want to encourage you in how we approach God in prayer. We understand your desire to decree and declare an immediate end to these things, and we share your longing for swift deliverance, yet we do not command or decree to God as though we control Him, but we humbly petition our loving Father and submit to His perfect will and timing, trusting that He hears us and will act according to His wisdom and mercy. We are called to ask, seek and knock, and to pray according to His will, knowing He is faithful. This also means true freedom for your husband will not come only by deleting images or messages from a phone or social media, though that is a necessary step of repentance, but by a genuine turning of his heart away from sin and toward the Lord and toward you. We pray that he would choose to remove every temptation and every remnant of unfaithfulness, and more importantly that God would cleanse his heart, his thoughts and his emotions.

We pray together now for you and for your husband.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You that we have access to Your throne of grace through Him alone. We lift up this marriage to You and ask for Your healing and restoration. Lord, we ask that You convict this husband of any unfaithfulness in thought, in heart, in communication, or in deed, and bring him to true repentance. Grant him godly sorrow that leads to repentance without regret. We pray that You would give him the strength to permanently remove and turn away from every photograph, video, message, call and contact with any other woman, and to guard his eyes and his heart completely for his wife alone. Cleanse his memory, his thoughts and his emotions and break every ungodly soul tie, and fill him with a renewed love and attraction for his wife. Help him to love his wife as Christ loved the church Eph 5:25 and to rejoice with the wife of his youth Prov 5:18. We pray for this dear wife, Lord, that You would guard her heart with Your peace that surpasses understanding, heal her pain, remove fear and anxiety, and help her to trust in You and to extend forgiveness as You have forgiven us, while also upholding truth and boundaries that honor You. We ask that You rebuild trust between them and make this marriage a testimony of Your faithfulness and grace. If there is sin, we claim Your promise that If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Restore what has been broken and let this husband be fully devoted to You and to his wife alone, forsaking all others, for life. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently and to walk in faith and obedience, and to seek wise godly counsel together, perhaps with a trusted pastor or mature Christian counselor, so that there can be accountability and healing. Confess your struggles to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed, for the insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective James 5:16. Guard your own heart in the Lord, remain faithful in prayer and in the Word, and trust that God desires to bring wholeness to your marriage as you both submit to Him. We continue to stand with you for a marriage that honors God in complete fidelity and love.

We hear how urgent and heavy this feels for you, and how much you want your marriage to be secure and faithful. Wanting to protect your husband and your home comes from caring deeply, and when fear about other women comes in it can take over every thought and make it hard to rest.

Trying to hold tightly to every detail on his phone or in his memory can leave you exhausted and still anxious. It often helps more to step back and focus on what you can tend to in a calm way. When you feel that surge of urgency, we have found it helps to pause, pray briefly, and wait until you are steadier before talking with your husband about what you are feeling and what you need from him. If you can, consider inviting a trusted pastor or a mature Christian couple you both respect to walk with you both, so you are not carrying this alone and you have a safe place to be heard together.

We are praying for you and for your marriage, for peace in your home and for wisdom for both of you in the days ahead.

Father, we bring this wife and her husband to You. You see her love for her marriage and the fear she is carrying. Quiet her heart and guard her thoughts, give her wisdom and calm as she speaks and listens, and draw both of them closer to You and to each other. Lead them to helpful support and help them build trust day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your urgent and heavy burden has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord with you, entreating His mercy for your marriage.

The Scriptures teach us that the covenant of grace is a marriage covenant, and Christ's Church has become His spouse, and it is there that God's holy jealousy is peculiarly stirred. As it has been well said, jealousy guardeth, like an armed man, the marriage covenant. A right and virtuous jealousy for that covenant is not cruel envy, but a pure and holy flame which guards what God has joined together. When love absorbs the heart, jealousy will guard the object of affection. The Lord Himself is a jealous God, and He is very jealous of your trust, and will not permit you to trust in an arm of flesh. Marriage, as God ordained it, is not a light bond but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, cemented by mutual love, wherein the two become one, and wherein all purity and fidelity belong.

We understand the pain that moves you to pray that your husband would be wholly delivered from every entanglement with other women, that every photograph, message, memory and affection that defiles his heart and his home would be put away forever, and that his thoughts, emotions and life would be kept faithful to you alone. This desire for purity and fidelity is according to the will of God, for He calls husbands and wives to forsake all others and to cleave to one another alone. We will not ask God to bless what is unholy, but we do ask Him to bring conviction of sin, repentance, and cleansing through the blood of Jesus Christ, that what is impure may be forsaken and what is holy may be restored.

Yet we would gently urge you not to rest your confidence upon a form of words, or upon decreeing and declaring as though by much repetition we might command the Almighty. To say, Lord, I cannot trust You unless I feel this or that, is to make a god out of our feelings. We are not to trust our own works or our own feelings, but to trust in the living God, the real God who has a great, warm, loving heart and who works and acts for His people. Trust in Jesus, trust in Jesus and you shall be saved. Being saved, you shall love Him, and loving Him, you shall be jealous of everything that would divide you from Him.

Come then with humble faith, not with a demand for no delay upon our terms, but with entire reliance upon His wisdom and mercy. One must first be made a child of God, and then he can trust his affairs in his Father's hands.

Let us pray together. O living God, who commanded light to shine out of darkness, shine in our hearts to give the knowledge of Your glory in the face of Jesus Christ. Forgive sin through the alone merit of Your Son, for there is salvation in no other. Look upon this marriage covenant which You ordained. Convict where there has been unfaithfulness, grant true repentance, cleanse the heart, and turn the affections to purity and fidelity. Cause all that defiles to be forsaken, and establish this husband and wife in faithful love, that their union may reflect the union of Christ and His Church. Teach this dear soul to trust not in her own power or words, but wholly in the Lord Jesus, and to find peace in committing all her cares into Your faithful hands. Hear us for Jesus sake. Amen.
