Beloved of All
Your request for restoration and unity between you both has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord in prayer.
We agree with you that our true enemy is not flesh and blood, but the deceit of the devil and the power of sin, and we thank God that through Jesus Christ the devil has been brought to shame, death has been defeated, and the way of reconciliation between God and humanity has been opened. The good news we proclaim is removal of punishment and remission of sins, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, adoption and an inheritance of heaven through relationship with the Son of God. That reconciliation with God is the foundation for any true restoration in our households.
We pray for you both and for your household, that God would first draw each of you into a deeper relationship with Himself through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for He alone is the way of salvation. We pray that He would give you repentance where it is needed, forgiveness through His blood, and hearts that desire to do His will.
We also pray for your relationship according to God's good design. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that living together and sexual intimacy belong within that covenant. We do not ask God to simply bless a relationship as it is, but to make both of you holy and to shape your relationship so that it honors Him. If restoration and unification is His will for you, we pray it would be built on that foundation of purity, commitment, and Christ as Lord of your household. If there are areas where your lives together have not reflected His design, we pray for the grace and courage to turn from them and to walk in obedience.
We ask the Lord to rebuke every work of the enemy against you, to drive away confusion and division, to guard your home, and to plant there the peace and holiness that belong to those who are His house and His people. May He grant you wisdom to seek godly counsel, honesty with one another, patience, humility, and a willingness to forgive as Christ has forgiven you.
Father, we lift these two to You. Have mercy on them, cleanse them by the blood of Your Son, fill their household with Your presence, and lead them into the life and hope that are found in Christ alone. Let Your will be done in their lives and in their relationship, and let all that is restored bring glory to You. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
