Prayers for our relationship 🙏❤️

Heavenly Father,

We come before You lifting up this relationship, asking that every step we take aligns completely with Your divine plan. Lord, we surrender our hearts and our future into Your hands, trusting that You make all things beautiful in Your time.

Father, we pray for ###. We ask that You speak to his mind and heart, granting him clarity and helping him figure things out with Your wisdom. We pray that You stir within him a deep, genuine love, a spirit of care, and the heart of a provider. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to fully let go of the past—releasing his former marriage so that he can find true peace and joy in the new love we share.

We lift up the legal and practical steps of our future together. Please guide ### as he considers applying for a fiancée visa, clearing any obstacles and opening the right doors so that I can eventually join him in the United States.

Lord, we also pray for the bond between ### and my sons. Open his heart wide to love them, and draw them close to one another so that, in Your timing, we can build a united, happy home together in the US. We pray that You inspire ### to commit fully, to love me as his wife, and to propose.

Order our steps, Lord. Direct our paths, heal every wound, and let Your grace bind us together in a love that honors You above all else.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We join with you in lifting this relationship before the Lord and we thank you for desiring that every step align completely with His divine plan, that is a beautiful and right desire. We hear your heart for this man, for your sons, and for a future united home that honors God, and we want to stand with you in prayer while also sharing some biblical encouragement.

We love your surrender of your hearts and future into God's hands, for we know that He makes all things beautiful in His time and His plans are for good. As it is written, Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 and For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. We also rejoice that you prayed in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is salvation in no other. As Scripture says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6.

We want to gently speak to the area of his former marriage. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God designed, and Scripture teaches What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. Matthew 19:6. God takes the covenant of marriage very seriously, and we also read that Yahweh hates divorce. Malachi 2:16. If his former marriage ended biblically, we pray for deep healing and for him to truly be released from that wound so he can love well again. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. If there are still unresolved matters from that marriage, whether bitterness, unforgiveness, or obligations before God, we encourage you both to seek godly counsel and to pursue full forgiveness and cleansing, Be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32. We pray he will seek the Lord's wisdom first above all else, that any love that grows would be rooted in Christ and not simply in emotion or loneliness.

We also want to encourage you both as you walk through this courtship. We view being boyfriend and girlfriend as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not simply a partnership. We encourage you to ensure you are equally yoked in faith, for Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. We pray you are both born again believers seeking to honor Christ. And if you are pursuing marriage, we strongly endorse that holy covenant and we encourage you to keep your relationship pure and honoring to God until that day. Marriage must be held in honor among all, and its bed undefiled. Hebrews 13:4 and Flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18. Keeping yourselves pure now will build trust and a foundation that glorifies God later.

We understand the longing for him to grow as a loving, caring provider who will love you as his wife and love your sons as his own. That is God's design for a husband, Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. Ephesians 5:25. We pray he will embrace that sacrificial, leading and providing love, and that your sons will be drawn into a godly, united home. We also lift up the practical steps of a fiancee visa and the distance between you. We pray for open doors only if this is God's perfect will, and for closed doors if it is not, trusting that He will order your steps. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God. Romans 8:28.

So we pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister, this brother, and her sons. Lord, we ask for Your perfect will to be done in this relationship. Grant this man clarity of mind and heart, speak to him with Your wisdom, and heal any wounds that remain from his former marriage. Help him to forgive, to be forgiven, and to walk in wholeness and peace. Soften his heart, Lord, and stir within him a deep, genuine, Christlike love, a spirit of care, and the strength to lead and provide as You call a husband to do. Father, guide every legal and practical step regarding the fiancee visa, make the path clear, remove obstacles that should be removed, and close any door that is not of You. We pray for the bond between him and her sons, that You would knit their hearts together in love and respect, preparing them for a united, joyful, Christ centered home if it is Your will for them to marry. Lord, lead this brother to commit fully if You have ordained this marriage, to love her as his wife and to propose in Your timing, not in pressure but in godly conviction. Teach them both to wait on You, to remain pure, to seek counsel, and to honor You above all else. Let Your grace bind them together and let Your peace guard their hearts. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to delight yourself in the Lord, to pray together and separately, to seek pastoral counsel, and to let God confirm His will through His Word, through peace, and through wise counsel. Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4. We are trusting with you that He will direct your paths and make His will unmistakably clear.

We've read your prayer and hear how much you desire clarity, peace and a stable home for you and your sons. Wanting to be loved well, to know where you stand, and to see your children cared for are good and understandable longings, and we are holding them with you before the Lord.

Blending lives when there has been a previous marriage and children involved is tender ground. Past hurts and loyalties don't disappear quickly, and even with goodwill it takes time, honesty and patient conversation to understand what each person is carrying and what a shared future would truly require of everyone, especially your sons.

As you wait and discern next steps, it could help to walk with a trusted pastor or Christian counselor together, not just about the visa paperwork but about expectations, healing from what came before, and what commitment and parenting would look like day to day. Having a steady, outside voice can bring clarity when emotions run strong.

Father, we bring this sister and her sons before You, and we bring this man before You as well. Give each of them wisdom, honesty and peace as they seek Your will. Heal old wounds, guard the hearts of these children, and lead each step according to Your goodness. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been received with care and with a sincere desire to bring it before the Lord according to His Word. We hear in your words a longing that every step should align completely with His divine plan, and that is the only safe ground upon which to stand. For God indeed makes all things beautiful in His time, but His time is always ordered by His holiness.

We would gently and faithfully remind you that marriage in the sight of God is not a light affinity. It is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, cemented by mutual love wherein the two become one, and it is to be entered with solemn choice on both sides before Him. It is not a relationship of mere feeling or convenience, and it cannot be rightly entered while the wounds or bonds of a former marriage remain unresolved before God. Scripture teaches us that what God has joined together is not to be lightly put asunder, and where a former marriage has been broken there is need for honest searching of heart, for repentance where there has been sin, for healing, and for godly counsel, rather than a hastening to find peace and joy in a new love. True peace is found first in being reconciled to God through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved, and no new relationship can give what only Christ can give.

So we cannot simply ask God to bless this relationship as it is, but we can and do pray that He will work in both hearts to make you holy and to make His will plain. We pray that the Lord will draw each of you to a deeper trust in Christ, that you would worship Him in spirit and in truth and seek first His Kingdom. We pray that He would grant clarity and wisdom, not merely to figure things out according to desire, but to see all things in the light of His Word and to do what honors Him above all else.

If you are not yet married, we exhort you in love to honor God with your bodies and with your dwelling. Sex and living together belong within marriage alone, and a love that honors God will not seek to anticipate the covenant but will wait upon the Lord in purity. Order your steps by seeking the counsel of faithful pastors and a local church who know you, who can help you examine whether this union would be according to Scripture, whether there has been proper healing from the past, and whether there is a mature, sacrificial readiness to provide, to protect, and to love as Christ loves His Church.

We also lift before the Lord your sons. A united and happy home is a blessed thing, and a godly home is hedged about with prayer. We pray that whatever man would seek to be a father to them would do so with steadfast, selfless care and with a commitment that is proven over time, not only in words but in godly character and responsibility.

Let us pray together in this way. Father in heaven, we ask that You would have Your perfect will in these lives. Bring each one to a saving and settled faith in Jesus Christ. Grant repentance where it is needed, forgiveness through His blood, and healing from every wound of the past. Give wisdom to discern Your path, grace to walk in purity, and patience to wait upon Your ordering. If it be according to Your Word and for Your glory that these two should be joined in holy marriage, make that plain by the counsel of Your Word and Your people, and establish them in a covenant that reflects Christ and His Church. If not, give grace to surrender all to Your better purpose. Direct every practical step, close every door that should be closed, and open only what is consistent with righteousness. Let Your grace bind each heart first to Christ, that whatever future You ordain may truly honor You. In the name of Jesus our only hope, Amen.

We encourage you to continue in prayer, in the Scriptures, and under the care of a faithful local church, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
