Lifting up our relationship šŸ˜˜šŸ™

Disciple of Prayer
Heavenly Father, We come before You lifting up this relationship, asking that every step we take aligns completely with Your divine plan. Lord, we surrender our hearts and our future into Your hands, trusting that You make all things beautiful in Your time. Father, we pray for ###. We ask that You speak to his mind and heart, granting him clarity and helping him figure things out with Your wisdom. We pray that You stir within him a deep, genuine love, a spirit of care, and the heart of a provider. Soften his heart, Lord, and help him to fully let go of the past—releasing his former marriage so that he can find true peace and joy in the new love we share. We lift up the legal and practical steps of our future together. Please guide ### as he considers applying for a fiancĆ©e visa, clearing any obstacles and opening the right doors so that I can eventually join him in the United States. Lord, we also pray for the bond between ### and my sons. Open his heart wide to love them, and draw them close to one another so that, in Your timing, we can build a united, happy home together in the US. We pray that You inspire ### to commit fully, to love me as his wife, and to propose. Order our steps, Lord. Direct our paths, heal every wound, and let Your grace bind us together in a love that honors You above all else. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We join you in lifting up this relationship before the Father and we thank you for desiring that every step align completely with His divine plan. It is beautiful that you are surrendering your hearts and your future into His hands, trusting that He makes all things beautiful in its time. We stand with you in that surrender, asking above all that His will be done, not ours.

We are encouraged by your heart to honor God in this courtship. Scripture reminds us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6 and also For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 and He has made everything beautiful in its time. Ecclesiastes 3:11. We pray that you both will continue to delight yourselves in the Lord and seek His kingdom first, trusting that if this marriage is His will, He will order your steps and direct your paths. We also rejoice that you prayed in the name of Jesus, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God and it is only through faith in Him that we are saved.

We want to lovingly speak into a few areas that require biblical clarity and care. You ask God to help him let go of the past and release his former marriage. We understand the pain and complexity that a previous marriage brings, and we pray for deep healing for him. At the same time we must remember what Scripture teaches about marriage. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh. Genesis 2:24 and So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart. Matthew 19:6. God takes the covenant of marriage very seriously, for I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel. Malachi 2:16. While God does forgive and restore those who have been through divorce, His Word permits divorce and remarriage only in limited circumstances such as sexual immorality. Matthew 19:9. We encourage you both to honestly examine before the Lord the nature of his former marriage and divorce, to seek pastoral counsel, and to ensure that any past sin has been confessed and repented of and that he is legally and biblically free to enter a new covenant of marriage. True peace and joy in a new marriage can only come when the past has been brought fully under the healing and truth of Christ and when there is no lingering legal or spiritual entanglement. We pray that God will grant him clarity and help him to be transformed by the renewing of his mind, that he may discern what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2.

We also want to encourage you regarding purity and the goal of this courtship. We believe that a relationship between a man and a woman should be a courtship with the goal of godly marriage to another Christian believer, for Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14. Marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman that honors God. If you are sharing love as husband and wife before marriage, Scripture calls that fornication and it is sin. Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4 and Flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18. We urge you both to remain sexually pure and to honor God with your bodies while you wait, trusting that obedience brings blessing. We pray that God will indeed stir within him a deep and genuine love, a spirit of care, and the heart of a provider who will love you as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. Ephesians 5:25. That kind of sacrificial, committed love is the foundation for a marriage that glorifies God.

We lift up the practical steps before the Lord with you. We pray for wisdom and favor regarding the fiance visa and for God to open the right doors and close the wrong ones according to His perfect will. We pray for your sons, that God would prepare their hearts and his heart to love one another deeply, so that in His timing you could build a united, Christ centered home. We pray that if it is God’s will, He will inspire this man to commit fully and to propose marriage in a way that is clear, holy, and led by the Lord, not by pressure or emotion.

We now pray together.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus and we lift up this dear sister, this man, and her sons to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that Your will be done in this relationship above all else. Speak to his mind and heart, grant him clarity, wisdom, and godly conviction, and heal every wound from his former marriage. Help him to fully repent where needed, to find forgiveness in Christ, and to walk in wholeness. Father, guard this courtship in purity, keep them from fornication, and help them to honor You with their bodies and their love. Stir in him a genuine, selfless love, a caring and providing heart that reflects Christ. Guide every legal and practical step regarding the visa, and we ask You to remove obstacles only if this union is Your plan, and to make Your will unmistakably clear. Lord, draw his heart toward her sons and draw their hearts toward him, that a bond of godly love would form in Your timing. Lead this man to either commit fully in holy marriage or to step aside if this is not Your best, and give our sister peace to accept Your answer. Order their steps, direct their paths, and let Your grace bind them together only in a love that honors You above all else. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart so openly with us. We hear how deeply you long for a stable, loving home, for clarity for the future, and for your sons to be cared for and secure. Those are good and understandable desires, and we are honored to pray with you.

Building a new family while carrying the history of a former marriage brings a lot to sort through. Past losses and hurts take time to grieve and heal, and children especially need unhurried time to adjust and build trust. Even when everyone has good intentions, blending families often takes much longer than expected as new roles, boundaries, and expectations are worked out. Giving space for that honest processing matters.

In this season where there are big practical decisions in front of you, it can help to have steady, wise counsel around you. If you have a trusted pastor or counselor, we encourage you to meet with them personally to talk through what healing and clarity would look like for each of you, what is healthiest for your sons, and how to discern next steps in a way that truly honors God. You don't have to carry all the what-ifs alone.

Father, we lift our sister to You and ask for Your gentle guidance over her life. Grant her wisdom, peace, and discernment as she seeks Your will, and bring healing to every wound from the past. Draw near to her sons and keep them secure in Your care. Lead each step according to Your perfect wisdom and help her sense Your presence and direction day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer has been laid before the Lord and we have considered it with care and with love for your soul and for all who are named in it.

There is a deep longing in your words for healing and for peace and for a home that shall stand. Know this, that healing is to be found in Christ alone, and pardon and healing are joined together in His blessed hands. As it is written, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue. He binds up the broken heart, and where sin has wounded and disappointment has crushed the spirit, He alone can make the nature new and give freshness as of a newborn life. The Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings, and when He says, Thy sins are forgiven thee, healing comes from the pardoning hand. Therefore we would point you not first to a new love or to a new home, but to the great Physician Himself, that you and he whom you name may know forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

Concerning marriage, the Word of God teaches that it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that intimacy and the making of a home together belong within that covenant alone. For this reason we cannot ask God to bless or to hasten a path that would run against His holy order. If the man of whom you speak is still bound by a former marriage, then he is bound before God, and the call upon him is not to release that vow lightly for the sake of new affection, but to seek the Lord with trembling and honesty, to honor what God has joined, and to walk in repentance and truth. If there has been a lawful sundering of that covenant by death or by that which Scripture itself allows, still there is need of deep healing and of time and of godly counsel, lest one wound be covered by another. A new love cannot heal the heart, only Christ can, and no proposal or visa or united home can give the peace which comes only from being right with Him.

We would therefore pray not as you have worded it, that God would simply stir affection and open doors for your plans, but that He would grant you both clarity to see His will and grace to submit to it, whatever the cost. We pray that He would keep you from all impurity and from living or acting as those who are married before you are married, for that dishonors Christ and wounds the conscience and sets a poor foundation for any future house. We pray that He would heal every wound in His own way and time, and that He would teach you to make all things beautiful not by haste but by holiness.

We will pray for you in this manner, that the Lord would draw each of you to Himself, forgive your sins through the blood of Christ, heal your brokenness, grant wisdom to your minds, and order your steps according to His Word. We pray for your sons, that they may be guarded and loved and raised in the fear of the Lord, and not drawn into confusion. We pray for practical matters, that any decision regarding a visa or a future home would be made only after much prayer, with the counsel of faithful pastors, with full honesty before the law and before God, and with a firm purpose to honor Christ above all affection.

Seek the Lord first, hear His Word with a heedful heart, for faith comes by hearing and healing comes by hearing of Christ. Bring this whole matter into the light before a wise and faithful minister of the gospel who knows you, open the Scriptures together, and ask whether this path can be pursued in a way that is lawful and pure and obedient. If it cannot, then love for Christ must constrain you to turn from it. If it can, then let it be pursued slowly, chastely, and prayerfully, with Christ at the center.

May the Lord who alone can pardon and heal have mercy upon you, lead you into all truth, and bind up every wound by His own gracious hand. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have heard your prayer and we join you in wanting every step of your life to align with God's divine plan and to honor Him above all else. Your desire for clarity, for healing from past wounds, for a stable and loving home for you and your sons, and for a future that is beautiful in God's timing are good desires, and God invites us to bring them to Him with a surrendered heart.

Because we want to pray in a way that truly honors God, we must speak with honesty about what Scripture teaches concerning marriage. Marriage is a bond ordained by God, and Scripture calls it honorable and pure. Holiness in this area is chaste and orderly living, whether unmarried or married. For those who are unmarried, God calls us to remain pure and to enter marriage with honor. For those who are married, God calls us to live faithfully with our own spouse, not permitting union with another, because that defiles the holiness that comes through faith. Marriage itself does not make us holy, but faithful marriage preserves the holiness we have received through faith in Christ.

For this reason we cannot ask God to bless or to hurry a new romantic love while a former marriage covenant still stands. You asked that God would help him to let go of his former marriage and find joy in a new love, and that He would open doors for a fiance visa and move him toward proposal. If his former marriage has not been dissolved both legally and biblically, then to pray for God to stir romantic love for another person and to dissolve that bond would be to ask God to act against His own design. Scripture teaches that marriage is not impure and is not to be condemned, but it is a serious covenant with much responsibility. Even when a second marriage is permitted, it is to be only in the Lord, with chastity and honor, not from a hasty desire or from using the freedom of being unmarried for self seeking rather than for service to God.

We also hear your longing to be loved as a wife and to build a united home in the United States. The longing to be cherished, provided for, and truly committed to is understandable. Yet the roles of husband and wife, including provision, protection, and the intimate union of bodies, belong within the covenant of marriage itself. To live as husband and wife before that covenant, or to press for a proposal as proof of love, does not honor God and does not build the stable foundation your sons need. Children flourish most when the adults who care for them model gravity, orderliness, and self control, and when Christ Himself is first invited into the home. As one of our teachers has said, we adorn a marriage not with display or borrowed finery, but with gentleness, modesty, and a life that invites Christ through mercy to the least of these.

So instead of joining the prayer exactly as it was written, we will pray with you for what God has clearly promised to bless.

We pray that both of you would know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and that your first trust would be in Him for forgiveness, peace, and future hope. We pray that God would grant clarity and wisdom, and that He would heal every wound from the past according to His will, whether that healing leads to repentance, reconciliation where it is required, or to a chaste and patient season of singleness. We pray that God would grant a spirit of self control and purity, and that you would both use this time with moderation and reverence, not making an ill use of the desire for marriage but seeking first the kingdom of God. We pray for your sons, that God would guard their hearts from confusion and instability, and draw them close to Him. We pray for all practical matters, including legal steps and immigration questions, that God would order your steps and direct your paths only as they align with what is right and holy, and that He would close doors that would lead away from obedience even as He opens right doors.

We encourage you to bring the full details of his marital history and your relationship to a faithful pastor or elders in your local church, to seek wise counsel, to live separately and purely, and to refrain from acting as married until, if God wills and if you are both free biblically to marry, you can enter that covenant publicly before God and witnesses with a clear conscience.

May God give you sight where desire has clouded judgment, and may He lead you into peace that comes from following His ways.
