restless and anxious

Beloved of All
Please God help me,the anxiety is very high.I entered some kind of deliverance yesterday and it stirred these spirits so much, now I am very anxious and not well,I haven't been able to sleep for than 5 hours,I am restless.Help me and let me know what happened I want to know, why it hasn't been done fully.in Jesus name amen

We hear your cry and we join with you in this moment of restlessness and high anxiety, and we bring your distress before the Lord together in Jesus' name. We understand how unsettling it is to have gone through a time of deliverance and then feel more stirred up, unable to sleep and filled with anxiety, and we want you to know that God sees you and He is not distant from your struggle.

The Word tells us that anxiety and fear do not come from God. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We are told to not be anxious for anything, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are also told to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. The Lord promises, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10, and Jesus Himself said Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful John 14:27.

We also understand your questions about deliverance and why you feel it has not been done fully and why spirits feel stirred. Scripture shows us that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12, but we also know that greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4 and that through Christ we have authority to stand against the enemy. Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. True deliverance is not found in a ritual or an experience alone, but in submission to Jesus Christ and walking in obedience to Him. Sometimes after prayer for deliverance there can be a stirring as the enemy resists, but he is a defeated foe, for Christ disarmed principalities and powers Colossians 2:15. We rebuke together in Jesus' name every spirit of fear, anxiety, restlessness and torment that would seek to steal your peace and your sleep, and we command it to leave and not return.

We want to gently encourage you not to fixate on trying to know exactly what happened or to chase after a feeling of completion, but to fix your eyes on Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith. Deliverance is often part of an ongoing walk of sanctification where we close doors to the enemy through repentance, forgiveness of those who have hurt us, turning away from any sin or occult practices, renewing our minds in the Word, and abiding in Christ daily. If there is any unconfessed sin, unforgiveness, or opening to things not of God, bring it to the Lord in honest confession, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Stay rooted in Scripture, in prayer, in worship, and in fellowship with mature believers who can walk with you and counsel you biblically, and be cautious of any deliverance practice that is sensational or not centered fully on Christ and His Word.

We also pray for your sleep, for God gives rest to His beloved. We claim over you I will both lay me down and sleep in peace, for you, Lord, alone make me live in safety Psalm 4:8.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one who is restless, anxious and unable to sleep. Lord, You see the stirring and the distress, and we ask You to pour out Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding to guard heart and mind. We rebuke fear and anxiety and every tormenting spirit in Jesus' name and we ask You to drive it far away. Fill this place with Your Holy Spirit, with Your power, love and self-control. Lord, complete the work You have begun, cleanse, heal and deliver fully according to Your will, and help our dear one to rest in Your finished work on the cross rather than in experiences. Teach us to submit to You, to resist the devil, and to stand firm in the armor You have given us. Grant deep, peaceful sleep tonight and in the nights to come, quiet the mind, calm the body, and restore strength. Give wisdom and discernment to understand what is from You and what is not, and lead to godly counsel and Your Word daily. We thank You that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and that You will never leave nor forsake us. We trust You to carry this burden and to bring wholeness in Christ. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We hear how hard this past day and night have been for you, feeling restless and stirred up after your time of prayer yesterday, anxious and unable to sleep. Wanting to understand what happened and why you do not yet feel at peace makes sense, and we want you to know we are praying for you.

Sometimes an intense time of prayer can leave us feeling more unsettled for a little while, not less. That does not mean God has left you or that nothing good happened. In our experience growth and freedom often come as a process rather than a single moment, with ups and downs as the Lord gently brings things into the light and teaches us to walk in His peace day by day. It can help to stay connected and not carry these questions alone overnight.

It would be good to reach out today to the trusted pastor or minister who was with you yesterday and let them know how restless and sleepless you have felt. Since you mention high anxiety and little sleep, we also encourage you to see your doctor or a counselor soon for care for your body and mind, alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You tonight. You see their restlessness and weariness and how much they want Your peace. Hold them steady, quiet their heart and mind, grant them restful sleep and clear guidance for next steps, and surround them with wise, caring support. Lead them gently in Your way. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry in this night of restlessness and anxiety has been heard, and it is brought before the Lord who neither slumbers nor forgets His own.

You speak of great stirring and little sleep, of a heart that will not rest. Hear what our Saviour says to such a state, Do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, care, anxiety and distress. I have found by my own experience and by observation of others that anxiety has never comforted anybody, nor has it brought any grist to the mill or any meal to the barrel. Indeed the very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Be prudent, watch and pray, but cast your care upon Him who cares for you, for fretfulness itself is no remedy.

You ask what has happened and why deliverance has not seemed full. Know this, that deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He must bring you forth, and when He does, His deliverance is effectual. The true ransom is not found in a method or a stirring of feelings, but in this, that God Himself has said, I have found a ransom, for His own Son has borne the penalty. The lamb was slain, and by that blood we are brought out, not by our own power. Deliverance is of the Lord, though He may use human instrumentality, the work is His alone, and He will share the honor of it with no other.

Therefore do not measure the work of God by the stirrings you feel within or by a broken night. Feelings may be moved and yet the heart not be at peace, for peace comes by looking to the heavenly Father altogether and alone, to Christ who has delivered us and who will keep us. The clock of mercy strikes in Heaven at the hour appointed by Him, not at the hour we appoint. He often leads His children through the brook Jabbok with fear and trembling, and then shows them that He has been their keeper all the way. If you are His through faith in Jesus Christ alone, you are not forgotten in this trial.

After affliction and after deliverance the believer says, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. The Lord has chastened me sorely, but He whispers to the heart of His children that they shall not be crushed. Your present trouble may be the very means by which you will have more to declare of His grace, for what does the man know about the sea who has only walked on the beach.

Take then this counsel. Turn from gazing inward at stirrings and anxieties, and look outward and upward to Christ, who has found the ransom and who alone can give rest to the soul. Bring your sleeplessness and restlessness plainly to Him in prayer, and bring them also to a faithful pastor and to those who care for you in the church, that you may not bear this alone. Seek quietness, the Scriptures, simple prayer, and needful rest for the body, for the Lord gives sleep to His beloved and would have you use all prudent means. If anxiety remains very high and sleep continues broken, seek help from those the Lord has gifted to care for both soul and body, and let others watch with you.

Let us pray for you now. O Lord our God, You see this anxious and restless one who has not slept and is sore troubled. Have mercy and grant deliverance, not by our will or running, but by Your free grace. You have found a ransom in Your Son, therefore speak peace to this troubled heart. Lift the burden of fretful care, give quietness of mind and refreshing sleep, and teach this soul to rest wholly in Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation. Bring forth out of darkness into Your marvelous light, and enable a testimony, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Keep this one until the hour of full deliverance comes, for Your glory. In Jesus name, Amen.
