Anxious

Your cry has been heard and I have read the weight of what you are carrying. The anxiety that will not leave you, the loss of weight, the rent arrears, the wrong done to you by those who manage your housing, going without food for two weeks while your health declines, reaching out again and again to churches and pantries and finding no help, feeling completely alone and feeling your faith grow thin. This is heavy suffering on this physical plain and it is right to bring it before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

Do not let this suffering persuade you to despair. There is a word that says, let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall, and also, shall not he who falls rise again. Lift up the hands which hang down and the feeble knees. Awake, you who sleep, and arise. Many who were sick have become healthy, and many who were healthy have through neglect grown weak. The enemy never despairs of our destruction, so we should not despair of our salvation. You have fallen under a great burden, but falling is not the end when God is the one who raises up.

Your bodily health matters to God. We are taught to attend to the body with care, as Paul urged Timothy to care for his stomach and his frequent infirmities out of love. Teachers and all the faithful stand in need of mercy, and that mercy includes caring for the body God gave you. Hunger and thirst and anxiety do real harm to the body. Even the Scriptures show that the life of faith can include hunger and nakedness and having no certain dwelling place, yet they also teach that going without nourishment for so long breaks down the body more quickly than many realize. You need food and medical care without delay. Going two weeks without food is dangerous and your declining health is a sign to seek help at once.

Please, for the sake of your life and health, seek immediate help today. If you can, go to an emergency department or urgent care, or call emergency services in your area. Go again to a food pantry, a church, a local charity, or a government social services office and tell them plainly that you have not eaten in two weeks and have lost much weight and need food and medical attention now. For the rent arrears and the fraud you describe, seek local legal aid, a tenant advice service, or a housing charity that can review your case and speak for you to the property management. Keep a written record of what has happened. Even when you have been turned away before, keep reaching out, for we are told not to grow weary in doing good, and to keep seeking those who can help. If you have even one person you can trust, a neighbor, a pastor, a family member, let them know you are alone and need someone to go with you to get help.

God sees you and has not forgotten you. He feeds the birds of the air and He is able to provide for you. He is the physician who heals those sick with many kinds of affliction, and He shows us examples of those who were deeply burdened and were quickly set free when they came to Him. He does not cast away those who come to Him in weakness. His mercy is greater than our anxiety.

I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy on this your child who is anxious, hungry, unwell, and alone. Provide daily bread, restore health, make a way through the debt and the wrong that has been done, and open doors for practical help and shelter. Lift up what is cast down, strengthen feeble knees, and renew faith that is dwindling. Let this one know that you are near, that you hear, and that you are able to deliver. Give wisdom to find advocates and protectors, and surround this life with people who will help and not turn away. In Jesus name, amen.

Keep asking, keep knocking, and keep caring for your body as you seek the Lord. You are not forgotten. If your anxiety or despair grows very heavy, please reach out immediately to a trusted person, a medical professional, or a crisis helpline in your country. Continue to bring your needs before God who is compassionate and able to restore.

Your honest cry has been heard, and the weight of what you are carrying is not hidden from God. To be anxious to the point of losing weight, to go without food for two weeks, to face rent arrears and dishonest treatment while your health declines and you feel completely alone even after reaching out for help, is a deep and painful suffering. It is understandable that your faith feels worn thin when you have tried so hard and no help has come.

God is not distant from your physical need. Scripture shows He cares about the body and about health. He created our bodies and He cares what happens to them. That is why hunger is treated in the Bible as a real and urgent human need. When David and his men were hungry they were given the bread that was normally reserved for priests, and when Jesus disciples were hungry they picked grain on the Sabbath. In both cases the need to eat was honored above religious regulation. The law was given to benefit people, not to prevent them from caring for basic needs. Your hunger matters to God, and it is right for you to seek food and care without shame. Please, because two weeks without food is a medical emergency, seek medical help right away and continue to reach out for practical help. If one pantry or church could not help, try another, and also reach out to local social services, community aid programs, and a doctor or clinic. Your need for food and for care for your body is legitimate and urgent.

The anxiety you describe is also something Scripture speaks to directly. There are pressures in this life that can make us feel trapped, financial pressure, relational pressure, spiritual pressure, and anxiety grows in that place. The psalmist knew this feeling and spoke to his own soul, asking why are you cast down, why are you so disquieted within me, and then he gave himself the answer, hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him who is the health of my countenance and my God. That is not a denial of pain, but a turning. When God is left out of the equation, problems can feel impossible. When you put Him back in, not as an idea but as a living hope, the situation is no longer without hope because He is present in it. He is the one who can steady your heart and be health to you even while the pressures remain.

Please do not measure your spiritual life by your present health or by this season of lack. The apostle John wrote to his friend Gaius that he prayed he would prosper and be in health even as his soul prospers. That was a loving prayer and wish for a friend, not a promise that faith will always bring physical prosperity or perfect health. Many of the most faithful followers of Jesus have walked through great physical hardship and need. Your declining health and your dwindling faith do not mean you have failed or that God has turned away. His ways are not our ways, and we do not always understand why some trials last so long, but He remains faithful and He sees you in this physical suffering.

There is also a deeper hunger that God wants to meet. Jesus said blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Like a deer that pants for water, our souls long for God Himself. Even as you seek bread for your body, keep bringing your thirst for God to Him honestly, just as you have in this prayer. He hears when you call on Him in the name of Jesus Christ, the only one through whom we come to the Father.

I am praying for you in Jesus name. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, look upon this dear one who is anxious, exhausted, hungry, and alone. Provide daily bread and nourishment for the body, bring help from people nearby, make a way where there seems to be no way for the rent and for justice regarding what has been done wrong. Touch the body that has lost weight and grown weak, calm the anxious heart, and renew hope in You. Let this one experience You as the health of their countenance and their God, and give strength to keep seeking You and to keep reaching out for help. Amen.

You are not forgotten. Keep crying out to God and keep letting people know of your need. If you can, tell a doctor, a trusted person, or a local help agency today that you have not eaten in two weeks and need immediate care. God cares for both your soul and your body, and He invites you to keep hoping in Him.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer and we have been lifting you before the Father in the name of Jesus Christ.

We have been praying especially for the great anxiety you shared that is affecting your health, for the weight you have lost, for the decline in your health from going without food for two weeks, and for the heavy burden of rent arrears and the fraudulent actions of property management that have caused you such suffering. We have also been praying for you as you shared that your faith is dwindling and that you feel completely on your own even after reaching out to churches and pantries for help and finding it is just too much.

We want you to know we do not take lightly the suffering you described on this physical plain and we are asking the Lord to show you tangibly that you are not alone. We are praying that He will provide for your daily bread and your physical needs, that He will bring justice and help regarding your housing situation, and that He will restore your health and strengthen your faith. We are reminded of what is written in Phil 4:6 and Phil 4:7 about bringing our anxieties to God and receiving His peace, and in 1 Pet 5:7 that we can cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us, and in Psalm 34:18 that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted. We are also praying Psalm 55:22 over you that as you cast your burden on the Lord He will sustain you.

We now pray together in Jesus Name for you, Father in the name of Jesus Christ we lift our friend to You, we ask You to provide food and nourishment, to heal and restore this body that has grown weak, to make a way where there seems to be no way regarding rent and housing, to expose and deal with every fraudulent action, to surround our friend with caring support and open doors for real and timely help, and to lift the weight of anxiety and replace it with Your peace and renewed hope even as faith feels weak. Comfort this one who feels alone and let Your presence be felt in a powerful way. We pray in Jesus Name, amen.

If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We are honored to continue standing with you.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ.
