We hear your heart and we are lifting you and your mother before the Lord together in Jesus name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and find grace in time of need.
You are carrying a heavy burden of sorrow and fear as your mother lies in the hospital after a stroke, already suffering with Alzheimer, diabetes and depression, and we join our faith with yours asking for the Lord's healing hand upon her. We also hear your own distress, the anxiety that has unsettled your sleep and your stomach, and the exhaustion from the loud noises around you that have kept you from rest. The Lord sees all of this and He cares deeply for both you and your mother.
We are reminded that God invites us to bring every anxious thought to Him. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. And 1 Peter 5:7 reminds us to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you. He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble as it says in Psalm 46:1, and He is close to the brokenhearted as promised in Psalm 34:18. Jesus Himself says in Matthew 11:28 come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
We pray together for you and for your mother now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear mother to You. You know her by name, You know her age and every affliction of her body and mind. We ask for Your mercy and healing power to be upon her. Lord, You heal the broken in heart and bind up their wounds as it says in Psalm 147:3, and we ask that You would touch her after this stroke, that You would restore strength to her body, help her to walk again if it is Your will, and bring peace to her mind. We pray for the doctors and nurses caring for her, that You would give them wisdom. We also lift up her child who is so anxious and weary. Lord, grant supernatural peace and faith, guard this heart from fear. Your word says in Isaiah 41:10 do not be afraid, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Let that promise be real this weekend. Provide quiet and rest, help to sleep deeply even in a noisy building, and calm the digestive distress that comes from anxiety. We ask that You would quiet the surroundings or quiet the heart to rest in You despite the noise, and help to love neighbors even while longing for peace. We ask for Your perfect peace that Jesus promised in John 14:27, a peace not as the world gives. Strengthen faith to pray through and to trust Your good will, whether You bring miraculous healing or sustain through the trial. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to the Lord honestly, even about the small things like sleep and noise, for He cares about every detail. Try to create a small space for rest where you can, and remember that God gives sleep to His beloved as it says in Psalm 127:2. If anxiety continues to affect your body, do not hesitate to seek help from a trusted doctor or pastor as well as prayer, for God often brings healing through many means. Keep holding fast to faith, not by your own strength but by asking the Holy Spirit to increase it, and rest in the truth of Isaiah 26:3 that You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. We are standing with you, trusting that the Lord who knows your mother and you will carry you through this weekend with His presence and peace.
