Beloved of All
Asking for prayers for my relationship with my fiancé. He's thinking about leaving me but we're trying to fix things. Please pray that I can be a better partner and that he finds the love he's felt for me. He's leaving for a longer trip soon so I really need things to take a step towards better today and tomorrow. Thank you so much.

We hear your heartache and concern, and we lift this situation before the Lord with earnest prayer. First, we must address the foundation of any relationship, it must be built on Christ. The Bible tells us, "Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it" (Psalm 127:1). If your relationship is not rooted in Him, it will struggle to stand firm. We encourage you both to seek God’s will above all else, for He alone can bring true healing and restoration.

The term "fiancé" implies a commitment to marriage, which is sacred in God’s eyes. Marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, designed to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are living together or engaging in intimacy outside of marriage, we must gently but firmly rebuke this as fornication, which the Bible clearly warns against (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Repentance and turning away from sin is the first step toward God’s blessing in your relationship.

We also want to address the language of "being a better partner." While growth in love and selflessness is important, the goal should not be to simply "fix" the relationship for your own sake, but to honor God in it. If your fiancé is a believer, you should both be striving to reflect Christ’s love, forgiveness, and patience toward one another. If he is not a believer, we must pray for his salvation, for "the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife" (1 Corinthians 7:14), but this does not guarantee his faith, only God can draw him.

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this relationship before You. Lord, we ask that You would draw both of them closer to You. Soften their hearts to Your will and Your ways. If this relationship is not aligned with Your purpose, we pray for wisdom and discernment to see the truth. If it is Your will for them to be together, we ask that You restore love, trust, and commitment in a way that honors You. Father, we rebuke any spirit of division, fear, or selfishness that may be at work. Fill them with Your peace and Your presence, especially as he prepares to leave. Help them to seek You first in all things, and may their love for one another reflect Your love for the Church. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

We encourage you to spend time in prayer and Scripture, seeking God’s guidance. If your fiancé is a believer, invite him to do the same. If he is not, pray for his salvation and consider whether this relationship is one that God can bless. Trust in the Lord’s timing and His plan for your life. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). You are not alone, God sees your pain and holds your future in His hands.

We join you in this heavy moment, when so much feels uncertain and the clock is ticking before he leaves. The ache of wondering whether someone you love will stay is a lonely place, and we’re holding you in prayer right now.

When a relationship teeters, we’ve seen that sometimes the bravest thing we can do is to pause our own scramble to fix everything and instead create space to truly hear his heart. That doesn’t mean agreeing with everything or excusing wrong, it simply means letting him know you want to understand what’s behind his doubts. Often, when someone feels heard beneath the surface frustration, the wall begins to soften and love finds a little oxygen again. So before he goes, could you set aside even a quiet hour? Not to defend yourself or press for promises, but to ask him gently, “What’s been weighing on you most lately?” Then listen. Let him speak freely. You might be surprised how a simple act of unhurried attention can loosen knots you didn’t tie.

We’re also praying for your own heart in this, that as you long to be a better partner, God would steady you with His peace and give you wisdom that isn’t born of panic but of quiet trust. His love for you does not depend on human perfection, and your worth is secure in Him whether or not you can see the road ahead.

Please pray with us:

Father, in Jesus’ name we lift up this engaged couple right now. You see the confusion, the fear, the longing. Quiet their spirits. Give this woman wisdom beyond her own, and gently turn her fiancé’s heart toward honesty and hope. Guard their conversations before he travels, and let even a small step of genuine understanding bring a breath of fresh air. Protect them from despair, and guide them toward decisions that honor You. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The heart that truly seeks the mending of a fractured bond does well to bring its plea to the throne of grace, for there is no wound that the Great Physician cannot heal and no coldness of affection that the flame of His own love cannot rekindle. You ask for prayers that you may be a better partner and that the love he once felt may live again, these are requests that touch the very center of where divine love meets human frailty. Remember that the Lord rests in His love toward His own; nothing can tear you from that heart of Christ, and if He delights to show mercy, then even the strains upon an earthly engagement are not beyond the reach of His tender skill. It is a sweet thought that the Savior finds His satisfaction in the objects of His love, and therefore you may cast this burden upon Him with a quiet confidence.

Yet let us look deeper. The love you long to see restored is a spark of that eternal flame which God sheds abroad in the hearts of His redeemed. That you desire to be a better partner is itself a grace-given sign, for the Lord flashed into your soul that first look of faith, and He who began a good work in you will not leave it unfinished. Your duty now is to drink abundantly of His love, to delight yourself in Him, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Do not be afraid of being too happy in the Lord, or of having too much assurance, or of feeling His love too powerfully. When the soul is filled with that first, great love, it overflows in patience, kindness, and a gentleness that can calm many a storm. Lean hard upon the bands of love with which He draws you; those cords are strong as the divine nature itself, and they will hold you fast even when an earthly affection trembles.

As for your fiancé’s journey, both the one he soon takes and the wanderings of his heart, our God is the Lord of reconciliation. He has prepared everything necessary for a perfect mending, and He commits to us the word of reconciliation, that God was in Christ, not imputing our trespasses. This means that the pattern for all restored fellowship is found at the cross, where justice and mercy kissed. Without fear, lay hold of this for your own soul first, and then you will be strong to love without the terror of loss. The exile may return; he who has been banished by coldness or doubt can be brought very near by the death of the great High Priest. We cannot command another’s will, but we can entreat the Lord who works in us both to will and to do. Pray that His gentleness would make you both willing to avail yourselves of this full reconciliation.

Come, then, with this request again today and tomorrow, not with a shrinking fear that dishonors our holy religion, but with the confidence of a child who knows her Father’s heart. I join my faith with yours, asking that the love of Christ may so fill you that you become the partner He would have you be, and that the one you love may rediscover that first affection, rooted not in fleeting feeling but in the wonder of a love that passing knowledge. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him, and He will make even this trial a means of drawing both of you nearer to Himself and therefore nearer to one another.
