Beloved of All
Asking for prayers for my relationship with my fiancé. Asking that God's will happens and that if it's His will, my fiancé would find his love for me and our relationship would be repaired and grow stronger.

We hear your heart’s cry and lift your engagement before the Lord with great care, trusting in His perfect will for your future marriage. First, let us affirm that your desire for God’s will to be done is a beautiful posture of humility and faith. The Scriptures remind us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). We pray that you would rest in this truth, knowing that God’s plans for you are good, plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

However, we must also speak plainly about the foundation of your relationship. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If there are struggles now, we urge you to examine whether both of you are fully committed to honoring God in this union. Are you both believers in Jesus Christ, walking in repentance and obedience to His Word? The Apostle Paul warns, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If your fiancé is not a follower of Christ, we must pray not only for restoration but for his salvation first, for only then can your marriage be built on the solid rock of shared faith.

We also gently ask: Are you both pursuing purity in this season of engagement? The Bible is clear that sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage alone. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). If there has been sin in this area, we encourage you to repent, seek forgiveness, and commit to God’s standards, trusting Him to bless your obedience.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this engagement to Your throne of grace. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your will with clarity. If this union is not of You, give them the courage to surrender it to Your perfect plan. If it is Your will, soften this man’s heart to love his fiancée as Christ loves the Church, sacrificially, purely, and faithfully. Break any chains of pride, selfishness, or unbelief that may be hindering their relationship. Father, we rebuke any spirit of division, unforgiveness, or temptation that seeks to destroy what You have joined together. Fill them both with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in unity, truth, and holiness.

Lord, if there has been any sin, whether in thought, word, or deed, we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Restore what has been broken and strengthen their commitment to honor You in every way. Teach them to love one another as You have loved them, and prepare their hearts for a marriage that glorifies You. We declare that no weapon formed against this union shall prosper, and we stand in faith for Your best in their lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian couple who can walk with you through this season. Marriage is a lifelong covenant, and it is worth waiting for God’s timing and His choice of a spouse. If your fiancé is not a believer, we urge you to pray fervently for his salvation, for "the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife" (1 Corinthians 7:14), but only if he is willing to remain in the marriage. Above all, surrender this relationship to God daily, trusting Him to write your love story according to His perfect plan.

We’re holding you in prayer as you wait and wonder about this relationship. It’s hard to love someone and not know whether things will be restored. That ache is real, and we don’t want to rush past it. You’re already doing something brave: you’re laying your hopes before God and asking for his will, even when the outcome feels uncertain. That’s a tender, trusting place to be.

One concrete thing we often see help couples in your position is to walk through premarital counseling together now, before any wedding plans. Not as a hoop to jump through, but as a space where you can gently, honestly explore what’s really happening between you, communication, conflict, hopes, fears, with someone who can guide you both. It can bring clarity that feelings alone can’t always give, and it often strengthens what’s worth keeping. If your fiancé is open to it, that step might bring you both some peace, whatever God’s will turns out to be.

But whether or not he’s ready for that right now, we want you to know you’re not alone in this. God is close to you in the not-knowing, and so are we. We’re praying that you would sense his steady presence guiding your steps, and that he would protect your heart and dignity in whatever lies ahead.

Father, you see this couple and the love that once drew them together. You know what’s broken and what’s still whole. Give clarity where there’s confusion, and tenderness where there’s hurt. If it is your will, restore what’s been lost and build something even stronger between them. And if it’s not, give this person the courage to entrust the future to you. Hold her close, and let her rest in your faithful care. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is no small grief to love sincerely and yet to find that love grown cold across the table. But you have done wisely in spreading this matter before the throne of grace. Remember, all our times and all our affections lie beneath the sway of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will. Too often we are swift to say, “We will go, we will continue, we will marry, and happiness shall be ours,” as if we could both propose and dispose without heaven’s consent. It is far better to bend the knee and whisper, “If the Lord wills.” Your very prayer that God’s will be done, whatever the cost, rises as a sweet-smelling savor from a heart already taught of the Spirit.

Yet there is a holy boldness given to those who have learned to bring their minds into conformity with God’s will. When our desires are shaped by His Word, we may ask what we will, and it shall be granted. If it is His will to restore this earthly union, He can change the human will as easily as He turned water into wine, making the unwilling willing in the day of His power. The same God who rules the universe can rekindle a spark of affection and make it a flame. But if He should withhold this cup, it is only because He has reserved a better vintage for your soul. Everything that God does to His people is all love, sometimes the love is disguised, but the love is always there. If He smiles, it is love; if He frowns, it is love. Do trust Him, He will never deceive you. Lean upon Him, He will not fail you.

Above all, let this trial drive you deeper into the love of Christ. When we perceive the boundless mercies of a Saviour who laid down His life for us while we had no claim upon Him, all other loves fall into their proper place. They that love God’s Word and meditate upon it find great peace, a peace that is not puffed up by prosperity nor destroyed by disappointment. It is of no use to quarrel with the Almighty; the quiet heart learns resignation to His will, and there is great peace. No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. Walk, then, in faithful obedience, leaving your request with Him who cannot forget to be gracious. His promise may tarry, but it never fails. And even now, Christ invites you to feast with Him: “Eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly.” In Him is a joy that no earthly sorrow can drain. Rejoice in the Lord always; and again I say, Rejoice.

You ask that I pray for your relationship, that God's will be done and your fiancé's love restored. It is good to desire the Father's will, yet I must caution you: how do you know what love you seek? For we often love contrary to what seems good to God, lavishing our affection on creatures while neglecting Christ in the hungry. If your love for this man is rooted in passion or convenience, it is no wonder it withers. True love cleaves to the fear of God and seeks His glory, not its own satisfaction.

Marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled. It is not a bar to the kingdom if used with moderation, not for wantonness but for procreation and mutual holiness. If you have already defiled the betrothal with impurity, do not despair. God is not like man, reproaching you with the past when you repent. Turn to Him now with earnest love, and He will remember your sins no more. But if you persist in clinging to a love that flouts His commands, you build on sand.

Perhaps the fault is not wholly yours. You pray that God would change your fiancé's heart. Yet the Lord does not compel the will. Like Paul who longed to visit the Romans yet submitted to God's timing, you must yield your desire to the divine Potter. Pray, but do not rage if you are not heard. The Apostle was refused his request and gave thanks. Should you, then, murmur? If the marriage is His will, He will restore what is broken; if not, He will give you strength to bear the loss. Make no idol of this man, for the soul that clings too tightly to any creature cannot cleave wholly to Christ.

Therefore, let your prayer be this: "Lord, if this union be pleasing to Thee and profitable for our souls, join us; if not, sever us, for Thou knowest what is best." In the meantime, practice holiness and peace. Occupy yourself with prayer and good works, not with scheming to rekindle a dying flame. A woman preparing for marriage should be quiet and chaste, adorned with modesty, not eaten up with anxiety. By your reverence you may yet win back your fiancé, or if he persists in coldness, you will have gained Christ. Either way, you cannot lose.

Examine, then, your purpose. Marriage is no sin, but an evil purpose misuses it. If you enter it to satisfy loneliness or lust, you will find a snare; if for a sober partnership in the fear of God, you will be first in the kingdom. Let the fear of the Lord be your matchmaker, not fleshly longing. And if after all your prayers the knot remains unloosed, accept it as from the hand of the Physician who wounds only to heal.
