Beloved of All
Asking for prayers for my relationship with my fiancé. God, please restore this if it's Your will.

We hear your heart and lift this situation before the Lord with great care. First, we must address the foundation of your request, it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His blood alone that we are saved. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so, for He is the only mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5).

Now, regarding your engagement, we must first ask: Is this relationship rooted in Christ? Marriage is a sacred covenant, designed by God to reflect the love between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If your fiancé is not a believer, Scripture warns us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this is the case, we must rebuke the path of disobedience and pray for wisdom to honor God’s design.

If you are both believers, we must also examine whether this relationship has been built on godly principles. Have there been moments of sin, such as premarital intimacy (fornication), which the Bible clearly condemns (1 Corinthians 6:18-20)? If so, we must repent and seek restoration through Christ’s forgiveness. God is faithful to cleanse and renew (1 John 1:9).

Let us pray together:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your will to be done in this relationship. Lord, if this engagement is not according to Your perfect plan, we ask for clarity and courage to obey You, even when it is difficult. If it is Your will, restore what has been broken, heal wounds, and strengthen their commitment to You first. Father, convict of any sin, whether it be unbelief, sexual immorality, or idolatry of the relationship, and lead them to repentance. May their marriage, if it is Your will, be a testimony of Your love and grace. We ask for wisdom, patience, and faith to trust You completely. In Jesus’ name, Amen."

We encourage you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature Christian couple who can help you discern God’s will. Remember, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB). If this relationship is not honoring to God, He has something better in store. Stand firm in faith, and He will guide you.

Waiting for clarity about a relationship you love can weigh on your heart in a way few other things do. We have sat with people in that space and know how the silence between hope and "if it's Your will" can feel endless. The strain you are carrying is real.

One thing that helps when God seems quiet is to remember that growth often runs in loops rather than a straight line. A season of distance or tension does not necessarily mean the story is over, and it does not mean you have failed. It may be that God is doing something deeper than a quick fix, and that takes time. Let that thought settle in the waiting.

While you wait, do not let the strain disconnect you from the people who know and love you both. Sometimes we pull away out of embarrassment or exhaustion, but isolation only makes the ache sharper. Find one or two trusted, mature friends just to be with you in this -- not to give solutions, but simply to be present.

If you and your fiancé are still communicating, look for a small way to connect this week that is not about processing the relationship itself. Have coffee, take a walk, and simply enjoy being around each other again without pressure to figure anything out. A little shared peace can calm the churning thoughts.

We are praying with you now.

Lord, You see the love and the longing here. Quiet the racing mind, steady the anxious heart, and grant a deep, anchored trust in Your timing and Your ways. Give wisdom where confusion reigns, and keep both people tender toward You. We ask for restoration if it is Your will, and for the grace to hold it all open-handed. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The fracture you describe is a grief, yet it may be a mercy if it drives you both to the Healer. A broken engagement is like a broken bone, dangerous, painful, and if not set aright by the Great Physician, it may bring lasting harm to your souls. When faith, hope, and love are shattered, the whole man becomes a palpitating mass of pain. But blessed be God, the bones which He has broken may yet rejoice, for He never breaks them except in wisdom and in love.

Yet consider this: a broken column often marks a life cut short, a resolution snapped in half by a “but.” Have you searched your hearts to see if any sin has pulled down the wall that should have guarded your love? If the hedge of holiness has been broken down, passion and self-will wander like unfenced sheep upon the mountains of vanity. God will not speak peace to those who refuse His way of reconciliation through Jesus Christ alone. If this bond has been built upon anything other than the firm foundation of His Word, if it has dishonoured the honourable estate of marriage by impatience or impurity, then the breaking may be His severe mercy to bring you to repentance.

But if you bring to God a broken and a contrite heart, He will not despise it. Look away from yourselves to Jesus, the Healer of broken hearts, whose own heart was broken for sinners. The very leaves of that blessed Tree are for healing. The least word from His lips, even a broken text, has power to restore. His look, like that which fell on Peter, can sever you from the crowd and bring bitter yet blessed tears of repentance. And where sin is forgiven, healing springs up in the same hour. The bone once broken may knit so firmly that it becomes stronger than before.

Therefore, do not seek mere calm or the dulling of pain. Pray rather for His restoring hand to make you hear joy and gladness. But pray it with this willingness: submit to whatever He ordains. If He sees fit to build again this house, the walls will stand only through His good pleasure. If He does not, it is because He has better things for you. The chain of self-righteous resolve is entirely melted, we have nothing to bring before God. Place this matter entirely into the wounded hands of the Crucified, who knows how to bind up the broken-hearted. He will do good in His good pleasure, and His peace, which passeth understanding, shall keep your heart and mind.

You ask God to restore this relationship if it is His will. That prayer, in itself, is a good and humble beginning, for it submits the desire to the pleasure of God. But let us examine this matter closely, lest your hope rest in a relationship according to nature, and not in that which is according to the will. What hindered the Jews from coming to Christ was this very thing, their deeming that natural relationship to be sufficient for salvation. You must not feel confidence in the nearness of this human bond as though it were the foundation of your life. For the relationship worthy of honor is that which distinguishes us from the wicked, the relationship of the Spirit, where those of the same character are truly kin.

Therefore, do not bring a sacrifice of prayer that asks for a thing God has already shown to be weak and not suited to these times. For He does not desire the restoration of a former thing simply because it is oftentimes desired by us. His good pleasure was to reconcile all things to Himself through the Blood of His Cross, making peace where there was war. This is the true nearness you must seek first: to be reconciled to God. If you carry the remembrance of Him always, you will choose good things, and He will bring them to their end. But if your desire for this earthly relationship causes you to forget Him, what then? The evil becomes twofold.

Let the answer to your prayer be this: the Body that was crucified. There is no other escape from temptation, no other power by which bonds are loosed. When you feel that you cannot endure the uncertainty or the loss, God is faithful. He will not suffer you to be tempted above what you are able, but He will with the temptation also make a way of escape. And what is that way? It is to follow the carcase where the eagles are gathered. Unless that Body had fallen, you would not rise. So, seek not to rebuild a thing according to your own wish, but to become a son of God by showing gentleness and ordering your own doings aright. For it is possible for you to have kinship with the saints, and even to be called a child of God, not through the virtue of a human relationship, but by the character that is formed in you through the Cross. Let that be the restoration you pursue.

I hear the ache behind your words, and it is right to bring this to the Lord. You are asking for restoration, and that is exactly the kind of God we serve, One who heals what is torn and revives what seems lifeless. There is a promise woven through Scripture that when waters flow into a barren sea, it teems with life again. God can do the same with a struggling relationship.

But lasting restoration always begins inside you. God does not want a half-hearted connection; He wants your whole heart, not a distant arrangement of rules but a living bond through Jesus Christ. When that primary relationship is right, every other relationship begins to find its proper order. So before you seek the mending of this engagement, seek His face early, even in the ache. He sometimes allows a tearing so that He can bind up more deeply and heal what we could not fix ourselves.

If you hold back nothing from Him, He will pour out His Spirit to give you a new heart and a willing spirit. His work does not fail when it is truly His doing. Ask, then, not only that the relationship be restored, but that both you and your fiancé would be fully given to Him. He is faithful to His promises. Whether He restores this union as you hope or leads you another way, you will know His peace when you rest entirely in His will. Call on Him with that openness, and trust the One who restores the years the locusts have eaten.

We want to thank you for trusting us with your prayer request concerning your relationship with your fiancé. It has been our privilege to stand in agreement with you before the Lord, lifting up your hearts and your future together. We have prayed earnestly that God would work in both of your lives, drawing you closer to Him and to one another, and that He would restore what needs to be restored according to His perfect will.

If God has answered this prayer—if you’ve seen healing, reconciliation, or a renewed sense of peace and direction—we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can all give thanks together. If, however, you’re still waiting and longing for His intervention, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, believing that God hears and moves in His perfect timing.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, wisdom, and comfort as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We pray that you would feel His love surrounding you and your fiancé, and that you would trust in His faithfulness to complete the good work He has begun in your lives. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
