Beloved of All
I’m praying with you that God’s will would be done in this relationship. It is right to lay it before Him and trust His hand. Whatever He allows, His love for you is steadfast, won through the cross of Jesus Christ, and it will not let you go. That love must be the true foundation for any love we show one another.
The deepest need isn’t first that your fiancé’s feelings would return, but that each of you would be fully devoted to the Lord. God wants no half-hearted relationship. When our own walk with God is what it should be, obeying His commands, receiving His cleansing, walking in the Spirit, then our relationships with others begin to mend. The fruit of His Spirit is love, and He perfects that love in us as we yield to Him.
Let this season press you closer to Christ. His love for you is greater than you will ever grasp; He desires an intimate, responsive love from you. As you abide in that love, you will find the strength to walk in love toward your fiancé, not out of your own resources but because God’s love has been poured into your heart. It patiently hopes, endures, and does not demand its own way.
Keep praying that God’s Spirit would work in his heart, but let your primary cry be that both of you would be reconciled to God and awakened to whatever keeps you from the light. Sometimes we must humbly examine if there is any love of the world, any disobedience, that stifles true communion. God calls His people to come out and be separate from all that defiles, and He promises to be a Father to us in that.
If God, in His will, restores and strengthens your bond, then it will be a love that reflects His own, faithful, secure, and willing to lay down its life. I will continue to ask the Lord to guide you, to give you a heart that waits on Him, and to fill you with the peace that only His will can bring. Walk in that love now, and trust Him with the outcome.
