Thank you for sharing this tender request and for the love you show for your daughter. I hear how much joy this game brings her and how heavy your heart feels tonight as you think about tomorrow and not knowing what to tell her if she is not able to play.

It is right and good to bring this anxiety to Jesus. He sees your daughter, He delights in her, and He sees your care as her parents. Nothing about her is overlooked by Him. He is not distant from these small and very real moments that feel so big in a family. He invites us to cast our cares on Him because He cares for us, and that includes both your desire for her to have joy and your worry about how to comfort her.

I am praying with you now.

Heavenly Father, I lift up this dear daughter and her parents to You through Jesus Christ. Thank You for creating her in Your image and for the joy You have placed in her heart. Lord, You know how much she loves to play and how much tomorrow means to her. I ask that in Your kindness You would make a way for her to participate if it is Your will, and that You would move in the hearts of those organizing the tournament to show generosity and inclusion. Above all, give this family Your peace that goes beyond understanding. Give her parents wisdom and gentle words for tomorrow, whatever happens, and guard their daughter's heart from disappointment and fill her with the assurance that she is deeply loved by You and by her family. Let her know joy tomorrow whether she is on the court or cheering with those she loves. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

As you prepare for tomorrow, here are some gentle ways to walk through it with her. If you have not already, you might consider contacting the organizers tonight or early in the morning to explain your concern and kindly ask if there is any way she could be included even for a short time. Sometimes a simple conversation opens a door.

Whether or not that is possible, you can prepare her with simple and loving words ahead of time. You might tell her tonight and again in the morning that you are so proud of how she loves the game, that many people are coming tomorrow so the teams may be full, and that whatever happens you will be right there with her to cheer and to celebrate being part of the team. If she is not able to play this time, affirm what is still true, that she belongs, that she is valued, and that her joy in the game is a gift to everyone around her. Bring something she loves to do while she waits, and plan a special way to celebrate her afterward, perhaps a favorite treat or activity together, so the day still holds something to look forward to.

The Lord is near to you in this waiting. He is not only Lord of great things but also tenderly attentive to the details of our lives. May He give you rest tonight, kindness from others tomorrow, and a clear sense of His presence with your daughter and with you both, whatever the outcome. Please let us know how tomorrow goes so we can continue to pray and rejoice with you.
