Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this need so openly. I can hear how tired you and your brother must be, watching a little two year old full of energy and play when everyone else is longing for sleep, and knowing there is a long drive ahead to get home safely.
God has placed great value on the family. From the beginning He has given each family its place and its calling, and He calls family members to care for one another with love and responsibility. Your care for your niece and for your brother as he prepares to drive shows that love in action. It is a beautiful thing when a family looks out for each other, and it reflects the way God cares for His own family, His people, drawing us close as fathers and mothers and brothers and sisters in Christ.
He also understands weariness and the longing for home. Scripture reminds us that He is our refuge and our hope when we feel far from rest, and that He gives sleep to those He loves. Children are a gift from Him, and even their boundless energy is part of how He made them, but He also knows their need for rest and your need for strength.
I am praying for you now.
Father, in the name of Jesus, thank You for bringing this family safely through their journey for medical care, and for Your mercy that has kept them. Now I ask You to lay Your hand of peace upon this little girl. Quiet her heart and body, help her to grow tired in a healthy way and to fall into a deep and restful sleep. Give her parents and family the rest they need this morning, renew their strength, and take away anxiety about the road ahead. Give wisdom and alertness to her father as he drives, keep the whole family safe on the four hour journey home, and bring them home without trouble or exhaustion. Let them know Your presence as their refuge and their rest, and let them find their hope and comfort in You. We trust You to care for this family because You love them and You hear our prayers. Amen.
May the Lord give you His peace that passes understanding, help your niece to sleep well, and keep you all in safety on the way home. Keep trusting Him to provide the rest and protection you need.
