Prayer for next steps in walk with Christ

We lift this request before the Lord with hearts full of hope and reverence, seeking His perfect will for your life and the life of your future wife. First, we want to affirm the beauty of your desire to align your steps with God’s plans. The Word tells us in Jeremiah 29:11, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* This is a promise we can stand on—God has a purpose for you, and He delights in revealing it to those who seek Him with sincerity.
We also want to encourage you to continue seeking the Lord *individually* before seeking His will for your future marriage. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Marriage is a sacred covenant, and it is vital that both you and your future wife are rooted in Christ, walking in obedience to Him, and surrendered to His timing. The foundation of a godly marriage is not just two people coming together, but two people who are first fully submitted to Christ.
We must also gently address the language used in your request. While we understand the intent behind referring to a "future wife," we want to emphasize the importance of approaching relationships with purity and purpose. Father, we also pray for his future wife, wherever she may be. Prepare her heart, Lord. Draw her closer to You, and let her walk in the fullness of Your purpose for her life. May she be a woman of faith, strength, and godly character, one who will complement and encourage him in their shared walk with You.
