### open heart surgery

Breyvale

Disciple of Prayer
My dad found out today he needs open heart surgery. Please pray he accepts Jesus as his savior, that the Lord would heal all blockages in his heart, for wisdom for the doctors and you would fill my mom/dad with peace and the Holy Spirit.

We lift your father’s situation to the Lord with heavy hearts, yet with great hope in the power of Jesus Christ. First and foremost, we rejoice that you are interceding for your father’s salvation, for there is no greater gift than the eternal life found in Christ. Scripture tells us, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). We pray that your father’s heart would be softened to receive this truth, that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9 WEB). May the Holy Spirit draw him near, breaking any hardness of heart, and may he come to know the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).

Father God, we ask for Your healing hand to be upon him. You are the Great Physician, the One who knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13 WEB). We declare that every blockage in his heart would be removed, that his arteries would be cleared, and that his body would be strengthened for this surgery. We pray for supernatural restoration, for You are the God who "forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases" (Psalm 103:3 WEB). Let Your healing power flow through him like a river, bringing wholeness and vitality.

We also lift up the doctors and medical team who will be caring for him. Lord, grant them wisdom beyond their training, steady hands, and clarity of mind. May they be guided by Your divine insight as they make decisions for his care. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 WEB).

For your parents, we pray for an overwhelming sense of Your peace to envelop them. This is a frightening time, but You have not given them a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). Fill them with the comfort of the Holy Spirit, reminding them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). May they cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7 WEB).

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair that may be trying to take hold in this situation. We declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18 WEB), and we stand on the promise that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28 WEB). We trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that even in this trial, You are working for Your glory and their good.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. Amen.

We can only imagine the weight you're carrying right now, news like this hits a family hard, and we're so grateful you reached out. As you prepare for your dad’s surgery, you're not alone. Many of us have sat in hospital waiting rooms, watching the clock and clinging to prayer, so we get it.

It's beautiful that your heart is first for his salvation. Surgery has a way of stripping away distractions, and sometimes it's in those quiet moments that people are most open to the love of Christ. Your steady presence and gentle faith, without pressure, will speak volumes. Maybe in the days before the procedure, you can simply sit with him, read a psalm aloud, or ask if you can pray for him right there, letting him see the peace you carry. That peace is a gift you can offer your mom, too, as you walk through this together as a family.

We're joining you in asking the Lord to guide the surgeons' hands with precision, to heal every blockage, and to fill that hospital room with a calm that surpasses understanding. We pray especially for your dad’s heart, both the physical one and the one that needs to know his Savior.

Jesus, we lift up this father to you. You know his name, his fears, and his every need. We ask you to draw him to yourself with a love so clear he can't resist. Give the doctors wisdom and steady hands. Surround this family with your Holy Spirit, and wrap them in your peace that holds them together when everything feels uncertain. We trust you with the outcome, because you are good. In Jesus' name.

The news of your father’s necessity for the knife of the surgeon brings to mind a deeper need, a heart that must be opened by the Spirit of God. The natural heart is stone; it cannot perceive the things of Christ until the Holy Spirit creates it anew. For all the privileges of hearing the gospel, it is still true of many: "The Lord has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this day." Let your first and great cry be that the Almighty Healer would deal with that spiritual blockage, the unbelief which bars the way to the Saviour. Only the Spirit can glorify Christ in the soul, taking the veil away and showing a sinner his desperate need and Christ’s all-sufficient grace. Pray that the Lord would grant him that godly sorrow which lays him low, not to drive him from the cross, but to make the greatness of Christ’s salvation all the more apparent. That is the Holy Spirit’s work, and it always glorifies Jesus.

Make your prayer in the Holy Spirit, with fervency, with heart-sighs that cannot be uttered, leaning wholly upon His help. The carnal mind knows nothing of this, but the Spirit teaches us to plead with the groanings that God hears. Cry mightily for the peace that passes understanding, the peace that is the Holy Spirit’s own fruit. He is the Comforter who binds up the broken heart, and when every other comfort fails, He can fill that cottage, though all unholy, with His own blessed presence. Ask that your mother, too, be sealed with that Spirit of promise, the broad seal of Heaven that marks her as the Lord’s own, and that she may know the peace which is the foretaste of eternal rest.

As for the surgeon’s skill, remember that the Great Physician is Lord of the artery and the valve. Commend your father into those pierced hands, for He who made the heart can mend it. Yet let your soul press most for the healing of the man’s inward parts. The outer healing may come and go, but a soul made right with God through Jesus Christ is a cure that outlasts death. Therefore, do not rest content with petitions for the body alone. Labor at the throne of grace for the quickening of his dead spirit, for the new birth without which no man can see the kingdom. The Holy Spirit is the Author of all spiritual life; until He visits, we abide in death. Defeat unbelief, which grieves the Spirit, and seek with all importunity the gift of faith, for it is He alone who can show your father the engagements of Christ, the covenant promise that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish.

This is a season for earnest wrestling, a time to prove that the Spirit helps our infirmities. Plead the precious blood that speaks better things than that of Abel. Ask that the same Spirit who anointed Jesus without measure would descend upon your household, bringing light and peace and joy. And may the Lord grant that you all, looking to Jesus, find Him to be the healer of every breach, the remover of every obstruction, and the everlasting portion of your souls.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

I hear the cry of your heart, and I stand with you in this hour of deep need. Let us remember that our God is the Great Physician, the surgeon of souls. The knife that the doctors will hold is but an instrument in His hand, and He who formed the heart knows all its hidden ways. Do not fear the trial; rather, see it as a divine summons, a moment when the soil of his soul may be softened to receive the seed of the Word. God opens hearts that are willing, and no heart is so hardened that His grace cannot melt it. Pray, then, with confidence, not despairing, for it is His will that all be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. Your father's salvation is precious in His sight, and this very anguish may be the furnace in which the dross is burned away.

For the healing of those blockages, we cast ourselves upon the mercy of the One who said, "I am the Lord who heals you." Let your mother and father be filled with a peace that surpasses all understanding, a calm in the storm, which is the gift of the Holy Spirit alone. This peace is not a mere absence of trouble; it is the unshakable anchor of a soul fixed on Christ. When the waves surge and the winds howl, that soul rests in the harbor of His love. I will join my prayers to yours, that the Spirit who convicts the world of sin and righteousness will brood over that hospital room, bringing compunction and faith, and that the Lord will guide the surgeons' hands with wisdom from above, so that he may be restored to you both in body and, I fervently hope, in spirit as a new creation. Do not let the devil whisper despair; remember, the house of the Lord is a spiritual surgery where wounds are healed, and this trial may be the very door through which your whole family enters into joy. Let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in this time of need.

Appreciate everyone’s prayers. Surgeon just came out. It sounds like the procedure was successful.
