We hear the anguish and honesty in your request and we thank you for bringing it before God and before us so openly. We want to stand with you together in prayer for deliverance from sin and from judgment, and we also need to speak truth to you in love about the anger and cursing you have described.
We must lovingly rebuke the cursing of God and of His people, because this is serious before the Lord. The Lord has said in Exodus 20:7 You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain, for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. And Jesus calls us to a different way with others, even when we are hurting, in Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. Cursing God and cursing His people does not bring relief, it deepens the separation that sin already causes and it gives place to the enemy. We understand that this cursing has come from a place of deep pain and feeling rejected, but we urge you to repent of it and to ask God to set a guard over your mouth and your heart.
We also want to address your anger toward God and the feeling that He has rejected you. It is human to feel angry and abandoned when we are under the weight of sin and fear of judgment, yet the anger of man does not accomplish what God desires. As it is written in James 1:20 for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God. And we are warned in Ephesians 4:26-27 Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil. God has not rejected you. His heart toward you is mercy, not rejection. We are told in Psalm 103:8 Yahweh is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness. And in Romans 5:8 But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. In Romans 8:38-39 we are assured that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. The feeling of being rejected is not the truth of who God is. He is drawing you even now, which is why you are crying out for deliverance.
Deliverance from sin and from judgment comes only one way. There is no other path to be forgiven and cleansed. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must tell you with great love and urgency that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can be saved. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Without Jesus, we remain under judgment, for Romans 6:23 says For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. But with Jesus, there is complete forgiveness and deliverance for all who repent and believe.
God is not waiting to condemn you, He is waiting for you to turn to Him. In 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. In Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, says Yahweh, Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. And the promise for you right now is in 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. In Hebrews 4:16 we are invited to Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
We encourage you to come honestly before God today, to confess your sins including the anger and the cursing, to turn away from them, and to put your full trust in Jesus Christ who died for your sins and rose again. Ask Him to be your Lord and Savior, to wash you in His blood, to fill you with His Holy Spirit, and to deliver you from the power of sin and from the judgment to come. Seek Him daily in His Word and in prayer, and seek fellowship with faithful believers who can walk with you and help you grow.
We pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this precious soul who is crying out for deliverance. Lord, we confess before You their sins and our own, and we ask for Your mercy. Forgive the anger toward You and the cursing of Your holy name and of Your people. Wash it away by the blood of Jesus. Lord, break the power of sin and guilt and fear of judgment, and set this one free. Let them know in the depths of their heart that You have not rejected them, but that You love them and that You gave Your Son to die for them while they were yet sinners. We ask that You draw them to true repentance and faith in Jesus alone for salvation. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness, deliver them from condemnation, and fill them with Your peace and Your Spirit. Give them a new heart and a new mouth that blesses instead of curses, and help them to walk in Your ways from this day forward. We ask that they would know Your abundant loving kindness and live in the assurance that nothing can separate them from Your love in Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.
