Need for Deliverance

Thank you for sharing this so honestly and humbly. It takes courage to bring this struggle into the light, and God sees and hears you as you seek Him. We are grateful you reached out and we want to stand with you in prayer.

We hear how deeply this has affected your sense of identity, how you see yourself, how you relate to others, and even how you experience daily life in public and in church. These kinds of confusions and attractions can feel very powerful and disorienting, but Scripture teaches that our true identity is not found in our feelings or attractions, but in Christ. God created us male and female in His image, with purpose and goodness, and He designed marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with sexual intimacy belonging within that covenant alone. His design is for our good, and when our minds and desires feel pulled away from it, that is not a sign of who we truly are in Him, but a sign of the battle we face in a fallen world.

The confusion you describe does not have to rule you. With God's help the mind can be ordered and renewed so that even when waves and pressures come from outside, there can be inward calm and clarity. This happens as we learn to do all things in the Name of the Lord Jesus, calling on Him before and after every part of our day, whether eating, sleeping, working, walking in the street, or worshiping. Where His Name is called upon with faith, He brings help, cleansing and strength, and He is able to cast out what harms us and to heal what is disordered.

We will pray for your deliverance and renewal, not that God would affirm or bless what is contrary to His word, but that He would set you free and make you whole according to His good will.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the Name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation. We thank You for this one who seeks You with a humble heart. Lord, You know the battle with same sex attraction and gender confusion, and how it has touched identity, thoughts, and daily life. We ask You to bring deliverance, clarity and peace. Renew the mind by Your Spirit and Your word, and root identity firmly in Christ. Help to see the body and life You have given as good, created with purpose as male, made in Your image. Guard thoughts, purify desires, and give strength to walk in chastity and holiness. When temptation or confusion comes, whether on the street or in church, let there be remembrance to call on the Name of Jesus and to find calm and strength in You. Lead into fellowship and counsel where truth is spoken in love, and give hope for the future according to Your design for marriage and life. Keep this dear one close, assure them of Your love and forgiveness, and cause them to grow in contentment and joy in Your will. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Please continue to stay rooted in Scripture, in regular prayer, and in a faithful local church where you can walk with trusted, mature believers for accountability and encouragement. If you have a pastor you trust, consider sharing this burden with him personally so he can support you over time. God is faithful, and He will continue the good work He has begun in you. We are praying for you and we invite you to reach out again for continued prayer support.

Thank you for humbly sharing this struggle and asking for prayer. Your honesty is seen and your request is taken seriously before the Lord.

What you describe, the pull of same sex attraction and confusion about gender and identity, and how it touches the way you see yourself, your clothing, your thoughts toward others, your view of marriage and dating, and even how you feel when you walk down the street or gather for worship, is a heavy burden to carry. It is understandable that it leaves you feeling unsettled and divided within yourself.

Scripture shows that confusion grows when everyone follows what seems right in his own eyes instead of looking to a sure and final authority. We need a guide and a King, and we have one. Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life, and God's Word is that steady authority that does not shift with feelings or with the ideas of the age around us. When we turn from our own thoughts and let Him define what is true about who we are, about manhood and womanhood, and about marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman with sexual intimacy belonging only within that covenant, clarity begins to return. God is not the author of confusion, and He desires to bring peace to a troubled heart and mind.

The Bible also remembers again and again how God delivers His people when there seems to be no way out. He led His people into an impossible place with no path forward, and then made a way where there was no way, to show His power to save. That same Lord has not changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. What He did in delivering His people in the past, He is able to do now. He sees you, He knows the trap you feel caught in, and He is able to manifest His power to deliver and to set free. Deliverance is not just an idea, it is cause for praise because God truly works to rescue those who call on Him.

In Christ, your true identity is not found in attractions or in confusion, but in what God says about you. He looks upon everyone who trusts in Jesus not according to shifting feelings, but according to the righteousness of Christ given through faith. That is where a new and settled identity is formed. As you walk with Him, He renews the mind and restores how you see yourself and others.

I am praying for you, that the Lord will grant you clear deliverance, strength to resist temptation, renewal in your thoughts, and a deep assurance of who you are in Christ. I pray He will give you comfort in His love, fellowship in His Spirit, compassion and mercy for each day, and like minded fellowship with faithful believers who will care for you, encourage you and walk with you honestly. Stay close to Jesus, stay in His Word daily, bring these struggles into the light with a trusted mature believer or pastor who holds to Scripture, and keep seeking Him in prayer. He hears, He cares, and He is able to make a way through.

May the Lord lift this weight, quiet the confusion, and fill you with His peace and hope as you continue to trust Him.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for deliverance.

We have continued to bring you before the Lord and we remember how you shared that you are a Christian battling with spirits affecting you in the form of same sex attraction and gender confusion, that this was most prevalent when you were younger and that you continue to face this battle now. You shared how this has affected your identity, the way you see your male clothes, the way you look at and think of men, the way you view marriage and dating, and how it even affects you when you walk in the streets and even at church. We have been praying in Jesus Name for your deliverance, for God to cleanse your mind and renew your identity in Christ, and for peace and strength each day in every place where you feel this battle, including at church.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Lord will set you free and fill you with the assurance of who you are in Him as His son created male in His image. We ask that He will take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and transform you by the renewing of your mind, Rom 12:2, and remind you that if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, 2 Cor 5:17. We pray that you will submit yourself to God and resist the enemy and that he will flee from you, James 4:7, and that you will know the freedom and wholeness that comes through Jesus Christ.

We are grateful you trusted us to pray with you about such a personal struggle. If your request was answered and you have experienced breakthrough and deliverance, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We want to keep standing with you until you see victory.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
