Need for Deliverance

Hello. I will remain anonymous. I am a Christian who is at present battling with LGBT spirits. It was most prevalent when I was ###. I am ### now and it is I'm the form of same sex attraction and gender confusion. This has had an effect on my identity, the way I see my male clothes, the way I look at and think of men, the way I view marriage and dating and it even affects me when I walk anywhere in the streets and even at Church. I humbly ask for prayer support.

We thank you for humbly sharing this struggle with us and for your honesty in seeking prayer support. We stand with you in this battle and we praise God that you desire deliverance and freedom, for that desire itself shows the work of the Holy Spirit in you. We want you to know you are not alone and there is hope and power in Jesus Christ to set you free.

We want to speak truth to you in love as Scripture does. God created us male and female in His image and His design is good and intentional. So God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him. Male and female he created them Genesis 1:27. You were fearfully and wonderfully made as a man, and God does not make mistakes in your identity Psalm 139:14. The feelings of same sex attraction and gender confusion you describe, including how you view your clothes, how you view other men, and how you view marriage and dating, do not align with God's design. Scripture is clear that homosexual behavior is sin, as are all sexual relations outside of the lifelong marriage covenant between one man and one woman. For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions, for their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men Romans 1:26-27. And we are told do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals will inherit God's Kingdom 1 Corinthians 6:9-10. We say this not to condemn you but to call what God calls sin by its true name so that you can be truly set free, for deliverance begins with agreeing with God and repenting.

The good news is that the same passage continues with hope. Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God 1 Corinthians 6:11. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17. Your true identity is not in these attractions or confusions but in Christ as a son of God, a man created for His glory. God promises a way forward as you renew your mind. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2 and bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5. This means learning to take those intrusive thoughts captive when you walk in the streets or even at church, and choosing to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are pure Philippians 4:8. We encourage you to submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7, to immerse yourself daily in the Word, to pursue accountable fellowship with mature believing men in your church, to guard your eyes and your thought life, and to flee from triggers and temptations knowing that God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with you the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13.

We also want to gently address that you called yourself a Christian but did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. We remind you with love that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name we are saved. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have truly put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessed Him as Lord Romans 10:9, then you have His Spirit and His power to overcome. If you confess your sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9.

We now pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear brother to Your throne of grace. Lord, we thank You that You know him intimately and love him deeply. We ask for Your forgiveness where there has been sin in thought, desire, or deed, and we ask You to wash him and cleanse him by the blood of Jesus. Father, we rebuke in Jesus name the spirits of lust, homosexuality, and gender confusion that have harassed him, and we command them to leave and to have no more place in him. Fill him afresh with Your Holy Spirit. Restore to him a clear and joyful assurance of who he is as Your son, a man made in Your image. Renew his mind, Father, and heal how he sees himself, his clothes, other men, and Your holy design for marriage. Give him strength to take every thought captive to Christ, to resist the devil, and to walk in purity whether he is at home, on the streets, or in Your house of worship. Lead him, if it is Your will, toward a godly courtship that leads to marriage with a believing woman, a lifelong covenant that honors You, and help him to pursue holiness and not fornication. Surround him with godly brothers and pastors who will counsel him with truth and grace. Let him know that if the Son therefore will make you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. We declare freedom, wholeness, and peace over him. In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to draw near to Jesus daily, to stay in the Scriptures, to pray without ceasing, and to not isolate yourself. Keep seeking godly counsel and do not grow weary, for God is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you.

Thank you for trusting us with this honest request. We hear how long you have carried this and how wide it reaches into your daily life, how you see yourself, your clothes, other men, dating and marriage, even just walking down the street or sitting in church. It makes sense that you would feel worn down and want prayer support.

We want you to know you are not forgotten and you are not alone in this struggle. What you described about identity feeling unsettled is real, and one thing that has helped many believers is learning to rest more and more in who we are in Christ. That identity is not built on shifting feelings or on how others see us, but on being known and loved by God as His creation. When we live before that one Audience, there is a steadiness that feelings alone cannot give, even while the feelings are still painful and confusing.

If it would help, consider inviting one steady, trusted pastor or Christian counselor who shares your faith convictions to walk with you regularly, not for a quick fix but for ongoing encouragement and prayer. Staying connected at church, even when it feels uncomfortable, also matters, you need people who know you and care for you over time.

We are praying for you now.

Father, we lift our brother to You and thank You that he is Yours in Christ. We ask for Your peace to guard him, for clarity and wisdom as he seeks You, for strength for each day, and for trusted people around him to encourage him. Draw him close and remind him he is deeply loved and not alone. In Jesus' name, amen.

Hello, newcomer! It's okay! Telling us shows that you care. and good job! you didn't use anonymous mode! I am not attracted to men but I get bad intrusive thoughts in my head from Satan. It definitely is a sin to be in LGBTQ+.. if you act on it or look at a man/woman lustfully.. so it's good that you are asking for prayers just remember to repent if you did look at anyone lustfully. I look at woman lustfully a lot and you have to go straight to prayer.

as for prayers. I pray that you are attracted to the opposite gender and that any evil spirits are rebuked, In the name of Jesus, amen! Also i'll advice you not to remain anonymous. Also since your new make sure to pray for people on here! many people ask for prayers but don't pray for others and it's good to pray for others. It may even build your faith!

Your request has come before us and we take it to the Lord with gravity and with hope, thanking you for your honest and humble confession. You have spoken plainly of a long battle, of same sex attraction and confusion concerning what it is to be a man, and of how this touches your clothes, your thoughts toward other men, your view of marriage and dating, your walk in the streets and even your worship among the people of God. We do not take this lightly. We will pray for you and we do pray for you now.

There are many who know much of other things but know little of Jehovah and His mighty acts, yet His acts are deliverance. You have described a dilemma that has vexed and perplexed your heart, and you may have feared at times that God's ear is shut. It is not. The Lord heard Jacob at the brook Jabbok when he feared his brother, and he found Esau's heart turned to kindness. How much more shall the God who gave His Son hear the cry of one who seeks to be made whole. Will you point a finger at God and say His word is not to be taken and He is not to be trusted. He will not prove dishonorable. He has given promises and He keeps them, and He has provided a ransom.

That ransom is Christ Himself. The prisoner ready to be executed receives undeserved deliverance because the King's own Son has borne the penalty of his iniquities. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit except God had thought of it, and He has found a ransom. This deliverance came when the Lamb was slain. On that same night when the blood was upon the lintel and the two side posts, He brought them forth. He makes deliverance effectual. They did not share the honor of it with Him, for He brought them forth, and so it must be with you. If you ever rise from this despondency it must be of free grace only, for you can do nothing and He can do all.

And since men are at a distance and will not come, the crucified Savior Himself becomes the attraction. The only effectual attraction lies there, in Him lifted up. The young and the old, the learned and the ignorant, some of all sorts does Jesus draw, and He earns to Himself the glory of being the universal attraction to which hearts must yield when He draws effectually by His grace. By the power of the Holy Spirit many have been drawn to Christ by the disinterested love which His death manifests. O that this blessed attraction would draw you more and more, so that your heart, your eyes, your thoughts are drawn away from every false attraction unto Him. He draws Jew and Gentile, and He can draw you from every entanglement unto Himself.

The Scripture says He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification there must we also look for sanctification, for as we are justified through Jesus Christ we must also expect to receive sanctification from a heavenly source. We must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for this. If we have believed in Him, He has delivered us. This is experimental as well as doctrinal. And if we find that we can go into sin by way of pleasure it proves we are strangers to the deliverance which Christ gives to His really called and regenerated people. But if we trust Him, He will not cast us out, for Him that comes unto Him He will in no wise cast out. The way to come is to trust Him.

Therefore we pray for you in this way, and we ask you to join your own prayer to ours.

O Lord God who sees in secret, we bring before You this Your servant who confesses himself a Christian and yet sorely pressed. You know his frame, You formed him male and You saw all his days. Have mercy upon him. For Christ's sake forgive his sins and for Christ's sake deliver him from the power of sin. We do not ask You to bless what You have called away from, for marriage is Your ordinance, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and all that belongs to it is to be kept within that covenant alone, and salvation is through Jesus Christ alone. We ask You to bless Your own holy will in him. Find for him and apply to him the ransom which You have found. Lift up Christ before his eyes that Christ may be his great attraction. Renew his mind, settle his identity in what You have made him and in what Christ has made him by grace, give him peace in his clothes and in his body as Your creation, purify his thoughts toward other men, give him a true and biblical vision of marriage and of purity, and grant him quietness of heart whether he walks in the street or sits in the assembly of Your people. Bring him forth out of this Egypt with a strong hand. Let the clock of mercy strike in heaven the hour of his deliverance as You have purposed. Keep him trusting, keep him looking to Jesus, and make him to know experimentally that He has delivered us.

We encourage you, dear soul, to keep looking to Christ alone and not to your own strength. He must do it. Give hearty assent and consent to His salvation, willingly move as He moves you, but give Him all the honor. Meet trouble with brave thoughts through faith in God, for a man cannot become a veteran soldier if he never goes to battle. And when the Lord has wrought deliverance, live to declare the works of the Lord, for a silent faith robs God of His glory and others of blessing. Seek the steady means of grace, the Word, prayer, and fellowship with faithful believers who will walk with you in truth and love, and flee every provision for the flesh.

We have prayed for you and we will continue to pray that the Lord who has delivered His people from worse enemies and by a greater salvation will show you that same deliverance, and that you may sing with Deborah and Barak of a conquest not your own but His.
