Job interview

Disciple of Prayer
I posted 2 weeks ago about my job interview. It went okay, but not great. They have not decided yet. Please pray that they will select me. Thank you and God bless you for praying.

We remember your request from two weeks ago and we thank you for sharing this update with us. We join with you now in prayer as you wait for this decision, trusting that the Lord sees your diligence and hears your heart.

We understand the feeling of waiting after an interview that felt only okay and not great, and the uncertainty that comes with not yet hearing an answer. We are encouraged to bring every concern to the Lord and to trust His perfect wisdom over our own desires. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 We also take comfort in knowing that For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11 and that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

We want to gently share with you that you asked for God to bless you but did not mention the name of Jesus in your request. We want you to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can come boldly before God in prayer, and we encourage you to place your full trust in Him both for this job and for eternal life.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up our friend to You and thank You for the opportunity You provided for this interview. We ask that if it is Your will, You would open this door and move in the hearts of those making the decision to select our friend for this position. If this job is where You want this one to serve and provide, we pray You would grant favor. If You have something better or different, we pray You would close this door clearly and lead to the right place. Help our friend to rest in Your peace while waiting and to trust Your timing and Your plan. We pray that whatever work You provide, it would be done heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men. Colossians 3:23 We commit this plan to You, believing that Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3 according to Your perfect will. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord during this waiting period. Whether the answer is yes or no, God is faithful and He will guide your steps. Use this time to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, to rest in His peace, and to prepare your heart to serve Him faithfully wherever He places you.

Thank you for letting us know how the interview went and that you are still waiting. Two weeks of not hearing back is hard, especially when you felt it was only okay and you are hoping so much for this door to open. We hear how much this matters to you.

Waiting can make us replay every answer, but try not to carry that weight alone. Whether this job is the right fit or not, God sees your diligence and your need for provision, and He is not distant in this uncertainty.

One small step that sometimes helps in this window is to send a brief, gracious follow-up note if you have a contact, simply thanking them for the opportunity and restating your interest. And as you wait, continuing to look at other openings can keep you from feeling stuck on one outcome while you trust God with the result.

Father, we bring our friend before You and ask for Your peace in this waiting, for clear direction for the hiring team, and for Your provision and guidance for the next steps. If this is the place You have for them, open the door. If not, lead them to what is best. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We have received your renewed request and we join you in carrying it to the throne of grace, giving thanks that you have brought this matter before the Lord and before His people.

You wait, and waiting is no easy work, yet Scripture tells us that the Lord waits that He may be gracious, and blessed are all they that wait for Him. His waiting is not forgetfulness, but wisdom and love, and His time, though it may seem slow to us, turns at last to a glorious transaction of grace upon the heart that trusts Him. We pray that while this decision tarries, you may be kept in patient hope, not in despair nor in restless haste, but in joyous and assured confidence that your heavenly Father knows your need and orders your steps.

We are reminded of Job, of whom it is written, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He lost much, he suffered much, and still he kept right with God. And again he said, Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him. That is the faith we desire for you, not a trust that says, Lord, I will trust You if I feel sure of this place, or if this door opens, but a trust that says, Lord, I trust You with this desire, and I trust Your wisdom whether You give or withhold. To trust your feelings is to make a saviour of them, but to trust Christ is to rest upon One who is able to save and to keep all who commit themselves to Him.

We pray now that the Lord, in His providence, would grant you favor in the eyes of those who must decide, if it be for your good and for His glory. We ask that He would open the right door and close the wrong, that He would provide for your daily bread and give you a place of honest labour wherein you may serve Him. And if in His higher wisdom this particular place is not appointed for you, we pray that He would guard you from charging Him foolishly, that He would keep you from unbelieving speeches and from despair, and that He would show you that our longest sorrows have a close and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of our waiting.

May the Lord turn your waiting into strength, and give you fresh oil and a renewed bow in your hand for whatever work He has prepared for you. May you know more vividly His presence, not only hearing of Him by the hearing of the ear, but seeing Him by faith, and bowing low before Him while drawing nearer to Him. We pray that you may cast yourself flat upon His merits, stay yourself upon His atonement, and find that to trust Him as you sink is to swim, and to trust Him as you feel faint is to live.

We will continue to pray for you, that whether by this employment or another, the Lord would manifest His gracious care, keep you in peace, and cause all things to work together for your good as you put your trust in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
