Job Interview

Beloved of All
I had a Job Interview back on ### for an ###. I was told a decision supposed been made back on ###, but I have not heard back from then yet. I pray I hear from them this next Monday or Tuesday. It's causing a lot of stress for me right now. Thank you.

We understand the stress and uncertainty you're experiencing as you wait to hear back about this job opportunity. The waiting period can indeed be challenging, but we want to encourage you to place your trust in the Lord during this time. He knows your needs and has a plan for your life, even when the path isn’t clear.

The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." This is a season to lean on Him, surrendering your anxieties and trusting that He will guide you in the right direction. We also take comfort in Philippians 4:6-7, which says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

We must also address the importance of seeking God’s will above all else. While this job may seem like the answer to your prayers, we encourage you to remain open to His timing and His plan, whatever that may be. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Even if the outcome isn’t what you expect, God is working for your good.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear brother/sister to You, asking for Your peace and guidance as they wait to hear about this job opportunity. Lord, we know that You hold their future in Your hands, and we trust that You will provide for their needs according to Your perfect will. Ease their anxiety, Father, and fill their heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. If this job is part of Your plan for them, we ask that You open the door wide and confirm it in Your timing. If it is not, we pray that You would close this door gently and lead them to the path You have prepared.

We also ask that You strengthen their faith during this time of waiting. Help them to trust in You completely, knowing that You are faithful and that Your plans for them are good. Remind them that their worth is not defined by their employment but by their identity in Christ. Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt that may be trying to take hold of their heart, and we declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and favor in their interactions with this employer. If it is Your will for them to receive this position, we ask that You grant them favor in the eyes of those making the decision. Give them clarity and confidence as they await Your answer. Above all, draw them closer to You during this season, that they may seek Your face and Your will above all else.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness. We trust in You and in Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to remain faithful in whatever work or responsibilities you currently have. Colossians 3:23 reminds us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men." Whether this job comes through or not, know that God is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will direct your steps.

Waiting on a decision already past its deadline has a way of filling every quiet moment with "what if." The stress you're feeling is completely understandable, when our work and provision feel up in the air, it's hard to think about much else. We've been there too, and we're sorry you're carrying this right now.

One thing that sometimes helps in these gaps is to gently reframe the silence. The delay may have nothing to do with you, budgets shift, people get sick, priorities reorganize. But while you wait, you might consider sending a brief, warm follow-up note to the interviewer. A simple thank-you for their time and a polite inquiry about the timeline can sometimes surface the information you need, or at least demonstrate your continued interest. It's not pushy; it's professional.

This is also a moment to practice entrusting the outcome to God without pretending the waiting is easy. Trust isn't having no anxiety; it's bringing the anxiety honestly to the Lord and leaving the results with Him, again and again if needed. What you're fixing your hope on, stable, meaningful work, is a good and legitimate thing to desire.

Lord, You know how badly this job is needed and how hard the waiting has been. Please bring clarity this Monday or Tuesday as they hope, a clear answer one way or the other. In the meantime, quiet their racing thoughts and steady their heart. Provide for them in ways they may not yet see, and guide the decision according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

The stress you feel is known to heaven. But remember, our God is a waiting God, and blessed are all they that wait for Him. Your expectation is not from the decision of men, but from the Lord who orders all things. Trust in Him with all your heart, and lean not upon your own understanding. He has not forgotten you, for He is mighty and despises not any. Even in this delay, He works for your good.

Do not let the fear of man bring you into bondage. If you have cast this matter upon the Lord, leave it there. The God of peace can quiet your heart even now. Pour out your tears before Him, as Job did, for He gathers them into His bottle. Your waiting is not vain. He who gave His own Son for you will surely care for your daily bread and your needed employment. Rest in His unchangeable purpose, for none can turn Him. He makes all things beautiful in His time. Keep praying, but let your prayers be mingled with praise, for He is already working on your behalf. The answer will come, and you will see that His timing is perfect.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You see the stress this waiting causes, the turmoil in your soul, but consider what kind of faith is being asked of you now. If you heard back immediately, where would patience have its perfect work? It is no great thing to trust God when He answers at once; that requires little from you. But to hold fast when the days stretch on, to refuse despair when the promise seems delayed, this is the faith that He crowns. The lame in the Gospel did not merely touch the hem of His garment; they labored up the mountain and were content just to be cast at His feet, asking nothing more. Make this waiting your ascent. Do not let your heart be troubled by the present silence, as though your hope were already seen. We are saved by hope, and that hope is trained in the long hours of not knowing. Endure, then, and be patient, for impatience often springs from faintheartedness, not from a true lack of trust. God has not forgotten your need, nor the words you spoke to Him about this position. Let your soul be refreshed by the promise that He orders all things well, and let your zeal be strengthened by this small affliction. Bear it with patience, and you will find that the delay itself becomes a gift.
