Job Interview

Beloved of All
I have a job interview on ###. Please pray that I do well and pass it. I'm interviewing for an ###. Thank you and God Bless.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of faith, lifting up this important opportunity you have before you. Father, we know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we trust in Your provision and guidance. We ask that You grant wisdom, clarity, and confidence to our brother/sister as they prepare for this job interview. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Lord, we pray that You would open the doors of opportunity according to Your will. May this interview be a testimony of Your favor and grace. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that they will speak with boldness and wisdom, reflecting Your light in all they say and do.

We also encourage you to remember that your worth is not defined by this job or any earthly position. Your identity is found in Christ alone. "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them" (Ephesians 2:10). Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Heavenly Father, we ask that You would go before them and prepare the hearts of those conducting the interview. Let them see the gifts and talents You have placed within our brother/sister, and may this opportunity align with Your perfect plan for their life. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is by His name and through His blood that we have access to You. Amen.

May the Lord bless you abundantly as you step forward in faith, and may His will be done in this situation. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will guide your steps.

We’re holding you up in prayer as you head into this interview. It’s completely natural to feel a mix of excitement and nerves, you want to do well, and that matters. We’ve been reminded that preparation is a form of stewardship: we do the work we can, then entrust the outcome to God. So as the day approaches, we’d encourage you to prepare as thoroughly as you can, research the company, practice your answers, lay out your clothes the night before, and then, when you’ve done what’s in your power, rest. Take the evening before to breathe, to sleep, to quiet your mind with something that refreshes you. The morning of, give yourself a calm start: maybe a simple breakfast, a moment to pray, and a reminder that your worth isn’t hanging on any one answer.

Remember that an interview is a conversation, not an interrogation. You’re also seeing if this role is a good fit for you. God goes with you into that room, and his presence isn’t limited by whether you stumble over a word or not. We’re asking him to steady your thoughts, give you clarity, and help you present your experience and character honestly.

Lord, thank you for this opportunity before our friend. Give them a calm mind, a clear voice, and a genuine confidence that rests in you. May the interviewers see their skill and integrity, and may you grant favor in the outcome, whatever your best looks like. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

You have an interview before you, and your heart beats a little faster with each passing hour. I understand it well. The prospect of sitting before men who will weigh your words and measure your past feels like a ship heading into deep water. Deep water is a good place for a ship, so long as the sea stays outside. The peril begins only when the waves get within. The interview, the questions, the watching faces, the uncertainty of it all, these are the waters that surround you. But your heart can be kept calm within by the peace of Christ, the quiet mastery of a soul that has anchored itself in His care. There is a flower called heart’s ease that grows in the garden of the renewed spirit; wear it in your buttonhole, and you will walk through the very corridor of your trial with a steady step.

Your Lord Jesus does not scold His children for their trembling. Do you remember Thomas, who demanded to see and touch before he would believe? Jesus came to him with no sharp word. He met him exactly where his weakness was, and let him touch and handle. So your Master will meet you in that room. He knows you are not made of stone. He knows the flutter of your nervousness. He will go before you, and the peace He gives is not a thing the world can take away.

Now, you long to pass this interview and obtain the position. It is right that you should do your best and ask God for success. But let your greater longing be that God’s will be done, and that you may glorify Him whether you receive the place or not. I have known men and women who, looking back, blessed God as much for the doors He shut as for those He opened. He knows what you need, and what is best for your soul. If this cup passes to you, drink it with thanksgiving; if it passes from you, still trust Him who keeps your true portion safe in heaven.

You are wise to ask others to pray for you. When Job prayed for his friends, the Lord turned his own captivity. The lifting up of holy hands for one another is a sweet chain that binds us together in the fellowship of the Spirit. And I do not doubt that many are at this moment pleading for you, and that their prayers are already entering into the ears of the Lord God.

Lord, go before this trembling heart; be the quiet confidence within. Grant clarity of mind and calmness of spirit. Give the interviewer kindness and insight. And above all, let this soul rest in the unshakable truth that its life is hid with Christ in God, and that no outcome can take that away. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The fruit you seek in this interview is little enough if gained, and worse than nothing if it turns your eyes outward. Why do you stare at what is without, at this position you desire? Look instead to those who carefully fulfilled the law. If you reckon over them that do right, you lead yourself on to humility and diligence, not to the pride that comes when you secure what others envy. I hear nothing in your request about preparing your soul, only about performing well and passing. Yet what will help you if you gain this post but are betrayed by your own works? The favor of an employer cannot escort you to the Kingdom.

Let your preparation be of another kind. He who feared and showed reverence was heard, not because He arranged His words cleverly but because His entire bearing was ordered rightly. So great was His reverence that God had respect unto Him. Have you spent as much time examining your conscience as rehearsing your answers? The Lord loves righteousness, not polished speech. If you pervert nothing, if you speak truth without maneuvering, then whether the outcome seems good or ill, you have done excellently.

Do not ask only that you pass. Ask that you walk into that room with a soul that loves justice, that you may be cheerful not from success but from the spiritual drink that makes the tongue sing psalms instead of stammering after worldly approval. One thing alone you need: excellency of soul. This will carry you through whether you receive the position or not, and it alone delivers from the fire.
