Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer reaches heaven, and I rejoice that you turn first to God with this hope. But let us be careful what we call good. You say the pay is good, and the job fits your interests. Yet I ask you: are money and convenience truly good things? A man called to pursue heavenly wisdom should hide his face for shame if he counts silver and gold among his goods. For if wealth were a good, then the robber who seizes it would be called good. Do not be carried about by such notions, but exercise your senses to discern what is truly good and wholesome. The only good that cannot be taken away is virtue, kindness, and a heart fixed on God.

Still, I do not forbid you to work or to ask for provision. The Apostle himself labored and taught us to pray without ceasing. The mercy of God is poured out even in daily bread and honest employment. Yet remember: all such things come not from your merit but from His loving-kindness. If He opens this door, receive it as a gift exceeding your worth, and use it to show benevolence toward others, for without kindness there is no living. If He closes it, know that even this is mercy, sparing you from unseen snares or training you in fortitude. For no enemy, not even the devil, can harm one who is willing to trust God. Job lost camels and oxen, but not his treasure of godliness; and his latter end was more blessed than his beginning.

Therefore, do not pray only for this job. Pray that His path be set before you with opportunity to grow in charity and sound doctrine, and with the kindness that is born of a grateful heart. Whether you hear good news or not, let your soul be exercised in discerning what is from God, and do not let the love of ease or gain corrupt your good manners. Lay the foundation of all things in prayer, and put on the roof with thanksgiving, for the Lord’s dispensation toward us is beyond all telling, He gave His Son for enemies. Will He not also, with Him, grant what is needful? Commit the outcome to His goodness, and then faint not, whatever answer comes.

It is not unusual to feel that mixture of hope and uncertainty when an unexpected door swings open. The job fits, the pay is good, and you are praying for God to clear the path before you. That prayer itself is not a small thing. It shows you are not merely chasing an opportunity; you are holding it before the Lord and asking Him to direct your steps. So take heart: whatever the outcome, you are already drawing near to the One who ordains every open door and every closed one.

Your situation brings to mind the man Job. He had everything the world could offer, and then it was stripped away for reasons he never fully saw. His friends were quick to offer explanations. They insisted that suffering must mean hidden sin, that if he could just get his life in order, the blessings would return. But they were wrong. Job was not being punished for some secret fault; his hardship fell within a larger story God was weaving, one that would humble and deepen him far more than ease ever could.

The lesson for you is not that job applications are like Job’s trials, but that God’s hand on your life is not limited to the results you can see. You are praying for good news, and that is right. Yet the God who sometimes gives the job and sometimes withholds it is the same God who gave Job both prosperity and ashes, and through both He was good. He was not being arbitrary or cruel; He was guarding Job from a prideful trust in his own uprightness. So while you wait, do not fall into the trap of thinking that a yes means you have pleased God and a no means you have disappointed Him. Your standing with Him is settled by His grace, not by an employer’s decision.

Commit your cause to Him, as Job’s friend Eliphaz advised, though he spoke it poorly. The advice itself was not wrong: seek God, lay your request before Him, and trust that He does unsearchable things we cannot fathom. You have already started that. Now let your heart rest in the character of the One who sees through every cloud that hides our understanding. He knows what you need, and He knows what will shape you into someone who loves good and hates evil more deeply. He may be preparing you for something you cannot yet perceive, or He may be clearing this very path with the kindness you long for. Either way, you are not at the mercy of chance.

So pray for open doors, yes. But also pray for the quiet confidence that when God has set His hedge around you, no power can snatch away what He intends for your lasting good. Whether you receive the offer or not, His eye is upon you, and His mercy is already at work in ways swift as the messenger and yet patient as the long arc of a life. Do not let the wait wear down your soul. The path that is set before you with opportunity and kindness may look different on the ground than it does in your imagination, but it will always be the path that leads you closer to Him.

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us about this unexpected job opportunity—what a beautiful reminder that God often opens doors we never saw coming! It’s been a joy to stand with you in prayer these past few days, lifting up your application and asking the Lord to make your path clear. We’ve been praying specifically that He would not only grant you favor with those reviewing your qualifications but also give you peace as you wait, trusting in His perfect timing.

If you’ve received good news—whether it’s an interview, an offer, or even just a sense of confirmation that this is the right step—we would love to celebrate with you! Please share a praise report so we can rejoice together in how God is moving. If the answer isn’t clear yet or the waiting feels long, know that we’re still here, ready to lift you up again. Don’t hesitate to post this as a new request so we can continue praying with expectation for God’s kindness and provision in this season.

Whatever the outcome, we’re believing with you that the Lord is working all things together for your good. Keep seeking Him, and may His peace guard your heart as you walk forward in faith. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
