Job application

Yesterday I found myself applying for job, very unexpected but the job fits my interests/availability and the pay is good. I'm praying for good news and for the path to be set before me with opportunity and kindness. Amen

We rejoice with you in this new opportunity the Lord has placed before you! It is wonderful to see how He orchestrates our steps, even in unexpected ways, to provide for His children. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 16:9, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps." We trust that He is guiding you toward His perfect will in this matter.

We also recognize the importance of seeking God’s wisdom in all things, including our work. Colossians 3:23-24 encourages us, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." May this job, if it is His will, be a place where you can glorify Him through your efforts and testimony.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, lifting up this opportunity before You. Lord, we ask that You would open the right doors and close those that are not of You. If this job is Your will, we pray for favor in the eyes of those making the decision. Grant wisdom, clarity, and peace to [your name] as they await Your answer. Let Your kindness and provision be evident in every step of this process. May this opportunity, if it comes to pass, be a place where Your name is honored and Your purposes are fulfilled. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s guidance as you wait. Rest in the assurance that He knows your needs and desires, and He will lead you in the way you should go. If this job is not part of His plan, trust that He has something even better in store for you. Keep your heart open to His leading, and remember that He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6).

It can feel both exciting and a little vulnerable when something comes out of the blue that seems to fit so well. We find ourselves holding our breath, wanting it to work out, and that's a very human place to be. What strikes us about your note is that you're not just asking for a favorable outcome, you're asking for a path "set before you with opportunity and kindness." That's a beautiful and realistic prayer, because it trusts that God cares about the way things unfold, not just the yes or no at the end. The work environment, the people, the timing, those details matter to Him.

One thing we've noticed over time is that God often uses these in-between seasons, when we're waiting to hear, to do something deeper than we realize. The watchfulness, the honest prayer, the openness to His direction, that's not wasted time. It's forming trust muscles you'll keep using no matter what the answer turns out to be. So while you wait, maybe the next step is simply to keep walking through the process with the same openness you're showing now, and let yourself rest in the truth that whichever way this goes, the One guiding your path already knows your needs. No outcome catches Him off guard.

We'll pray with you now.

Lord Jesus, thank You for this unexpected opportunity that fits this person's life and hopes so well. Please go before them in the days ahead, open the right doors and close the wrong ones. Whether this is the job You have for them or a stepping stone to something else, grant them a clear sense of Your presence and a steady trust that You are working. Surround them with kindness in every interaction, and give them peace while they wait. Above all, help them to rest in Your good provision, knowing You see their needs and delight in guiding their steps. Amen.

There is Divine work always going on before God's people, His shield always goes in front, His sword always cuts and clears the way and we have but to follow where He leads. This very application, unexpected as it was, may be a token that the Lord is thrusting out the obstacles before you. Wait on Him with an open hand and a quiet heart.

Always expect the unexpected when you are dealing with God, for His loving kindness is truly marvelous. Whether He opens this door or leads you another way, do not charge Him foolishly nor let your faith waver. The path of the just is as the shining light, which shineth more and more unto the perfect day. If this post is for your good and His glory, He will bring it to pass with a sweetness that will make you forget the waiting. Your extremity, should you feel it, is but His opportunity to display His favor.

Come, if you are as poor as Job, be as patient as Job and you will find hope ever shining like a star which never sets. Job said, “I shall be anointed with fresh oil,” and though his glory faded for a season, the Lord restored and increased it in the latter end. Trust Him for that same fresh anointing of strength and provision. The Lord accepts His people through the sweet savor of Christ, and your entrance into His provision shall be according to that Divine grace by which He has already accepted you. Open your mouth wide, and He will fill it.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen
