We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join you before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name, thanking you for your honesty in saying that your household is broken and that you bear part of the responsibility. That humility is precious to God, for He draws near to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And Psalm 51:17 says a broken and contrite heart, God, you will not despise.
We want to encourage you that what feels like nothing can be fixed to you is not beyond our Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 19:26 With God all things are possible, and Luke 1:37 says no word from God will ever fail. He is the restorer who promises in Joel 2:25 I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten. Your tears are not unseen, for Psalm 56:8 says you put our tears into your bottle, are they not in your record.
We take your requests for softened hearts, for right words, for ears to listen and minds to understand directly to the Father. Ezekiel 36:26 promises I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And James 1:19 reminds us to be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger. God desires your home to be built on love, peace and unity. Ephesians 4:2-3 calls us with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Colossians 3:14 says above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection. And Ephesians 4:32 calls us to be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
We pray together for you and your household.
Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one and this household to You. Lord, You see the brokenness and the tears, You know every fault and every hurt. We ask You to come into this home, Lord, and dwell there. Soften every heart, take away any heart of stone and give a heart of flesh. Pour out Your spirit of repentance, forgiveness and humility upon each member. Give them words seasoned with grace, as Colossians 4:6 teaches, and give them ears quick to listen and a mindset to understand one another. Help them to bear with one another and forgive as You have forgiven us. Draw each one closer to You first, that they may be drawn closer to one another. Strengthen their bond in Your love, and let Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as promised in Philippians 4:7. Bring restoration where there has been division, bring Your love where there has been hurt, and bring Your joy where there has been sorrow. We ask that You would lead this household to seek You together, to pray together and to be established on Your Word. Let this prayer be answered according to Your perfect will. We thank You that we can cast all our worries on You because You care for us, as 1 Peter 5:7 says. We trust You, we love You, and we thank You for what You are already doing. In Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue in that posture of I need you, I thank you, I trust you, I love you. Keep casting your cares on Him daily through prayer and through His Word. As you seek to communicate, speak the truth in love as Ephesians 4:15 teaches, and let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up, that it may give grace to those who hear as Ephesians 4:29 says. Choose forgiveness quickly, even as you have been forgiven, and pursue peace. If possible, pray together as a household each day, even briefly, and invite God into every conversation. We thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ, for John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 reminds us there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Continue to abide in Him, for He is faithful to complete the work He has begun.
