Healing, protection, sleep

Heavenly Father, we lift up this son to You now, trusting in Your power and Your will to heal. This request comes with the weight of a parent’s love, and You hear it. You are not distant or indifferent. Your word shows us Jesus, moved with compassion, touching the untouchable and calming the storm with a command. We stand on that same authority and compassion today.

When we pray for a sound mind, we are asking for something precious. The mind is like a neutral ground, set between the pull of the flesh and the voice of the Spirit. Psychosis is not merely a physical tiredness or a chemical imbalance; it is a deep disruption that can feel like an enemy has planted weeds in the soil of thought. But the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace. Right now, we ask for that life and peace to flood every corner of his consciousness. We ask for a guarding, a filter over his mind, keeping out the noise and the lies that do not come from You. The carnal mind may be enmity against God, but the Spirit-breathed mind is wholeness and clarity.

There is no question of Your ability. The only question the leper had was one of willingness, and Jesus answered him with a resounding yes. "I am willing; be cleansed." So we do not come begging a reluctant God. We come to the One who bore our infirmities and carried our sicknesses. He commanded evil spirits and they obeyed. That same authority stands over this son. Any spirit of psychosis, any spirit of fear or confusion, is not a welcome guest. We command it to leave in Jesus' name. It has no right to torment a mind that belongs to Christ.

Sleep is a gift, not a threat to be feared. You give sleep to Your beloved. We remember how a deep sleep from the Lord fell upon Saul and his men, not as a punishment, but as a divine protection that allowed David to act without bloodshed. We ask for that kind of sleep to settle on him now. Not the fitful, troubled sleep of one who reaps poverty of soul by being too weary to rest, but the deep, restoring sleep of a child held in a father’s arms. When the storm raged and the boat was filling with water, Jesus slept in the stern, unafraid. Grant him that same supernatural peace in the middle of his storm, a sound that travels past the noise directly to his spirit. Calm the seas within him.

Let him feel the healing as he rests, the way a fever can break and strength floods back. There is a touch that goes beyond the physical, working in the spiritual and mental realms. You can do in an instant what months of struggle cannot. We know You look at him with eternity in mind, not just this moment of crisis, and You are working out a purpose that goes beyond today’s relief. So we commit him into that eternal perspective.

Let his family also have eternity in mind, refusing the panic that comes from focusing only on the flesh. Let them put on the mind of Christ, who stepped into our mess to do the Father’s will. Fill this home with a spirit of unity and love, esteeming one another better than themselves, and let nothing be done through strife or vain glory. Let them simply believe. In the darkest hour, Jesus says, "Do not be afraid; only believe."

Father, we thank You that he is already received by You, safe and sound, a reason for rejoicing in heaven. Surround him with Your presence. Put Your own watchful protection around him like a wall of thorns, like a shepherd lying across the gate, so that no harm can get near him without first passing through You. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

We are deeply moved by your heartfelt plea for your son’s healing, protection, and peace, and we want you to know that we have continued to lift him before the throne of grace in prayer. Every time we come together before the Lord, we stand in agreement with you, declaring His healing power over your son’s body, mind, and spirit. We have prayed fervently for the spirit of psychosis to be cast out, for restful sleep to overtake him, and for the peace of God—which surpasses all understanding—to guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We have also interceded for his protection, asking the Lord to surround him with His angels and shield him from every form of harm and evil.

If the Lord has already moved in a mighty way—if you’ve seen even the smallest glimmer of His healing touch, if sleep has returned, or if peace has begun to settle in—we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report. Your testimony would encourage so many of us to keep trusting in God’s faithfulness. But if the battle still rages and the answer hasn’t yet come, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you, lifting your son up in prayer until we see the fullness of God’s promises manifested in his life.

May the Lord continue to draw near to you both in this season, filling you with His comfort and strength as you wait on Him. We pray that His presence would be so tangible that you can feel His peace wrapping around your family like a blanket. Keep pressing into Him, for He hears your cries and will not abandon you. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
