Healing, protection, sleep

Praying in agreement with you for your son's restful, peaceful sleep that brings good health and he be protected comforted by,calmed the Lord's tangible Presence in Jesus Name Amen.

The cry of a parent’s heart pierces heaven more surely than any arrow. You ask healing for your son, a sound mind, and peaceful sleep. Remember first what the Apostle declares: God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. The very thing you seek is His gift already prepared for those who love Him. Do not let the terror of the enemy’s noise shake your confidence: because of the Cross, the devils are no longer terrible, but contemptible; death itself is no longer death, but a sleep. He who lay asleep in the boat in the midst of the storm is Lord of the waves, and He can command the tempest that rages in your son’s thoughts to be still.

Do not measure God’s mercy by the clock of your own fears. Seek Him as one seeks a lost treasure, with hands stretched out by night, for often in the profound silence, when the whole world lies as though in a tomb, the soul becomes purer, lighter, and more ready to receive the King’s comfort. Shake off the drunkenness of worldly anxieties which make the mind sluggish and sleepy. Affliction, when it is not above measure, has a strange power to sober the soul, to cut off superfluities, and to lead a man into that healthy state of the inward eye which is truly a sound mind. With women and children the early Christians sang hymns in the middle of the night, made purer than the sky by their trials. Rise up, then, and do not merely pray for peaceful sleep, but let your own prayers become the watchful cradle in which your son’s healing begins.

Entrust him entirely to the Physician of souls, who often permits a wound in order to cure a deeper disease. Your son is not at the mercy of some impersonal force: the wolves rage, but the sheep overcome them, not by returning their bites, but by being transformed through the power of Christ. Cast out the spirit of psychosis, you ask. That is a prayer of faith. Do not then find fault with God’s dispensation, but with the enemy’s envy. The Lord permits struggle so that we may learn to flee to Him, and that the root of His blessings, the principle of our own free choice, may be strengthened. As you pray, engrave this upon your mind: the Cross that saved the world has already made earth Heaven and fashioned men into angels. Your son’s peace is secured there. Hold fast to this hope, and let the very darkness of the night become your ally, a time to contemplate the order of the Master’s household, until the healing light of the Daystar arises in his heart.

When you pray for your son’s healing and a sound mind, you are standing on solid ground. So often we imagine God needs to be persuaded, but Scripture shows us a different picture. When a desperate father cried out, “If you can do anything,” Jesus turned the question back to the matter of belief. The power is never in doubt; it is our trust that reaches out and lays hold of what He already wants to give. Do not be afraid; only believe.

What you are asking for is a mind freed from torment and filled with peace. The mind really sits in a kind of middle place, shaped by whatever rules the heart. If the flesh and its fears dominate, the mind becomes a workshop of death and unrest. But if the Spirit takes charge, the mind becomes a home for life and peace. The carnal mind fights against God by its very nature; it cannot submit to Him. So pray boldly that the Spirit would expel every thought rooted in fear and confusion, replacing the mind of the flesh with the mind of Christ, which is humble, calm, and whole.

That craving for peaceful sleep is not a small thing. There is a restlessness described in the Proverbs where people cannot sleep until they have done mischief, their sleep stolen away by wickedness. That is an enemy attack. But there is another kind of sleep, the deep sleep that God Himself can send, as He did over Saul’s camp when David came at night. It was a supernatural gift of protection and peace, shutting down all threats so that no harm could touch him. Ask the Lord to grant your son that kind of sleep, not a lazy escape, but a God-given rest where his body lies down guarded and his mind grows quiet in the shelter of the Shepherd. Let every foul spirit of psychosis be commanded to leave, for Jesus has authority over every unclean power, and they must obey Him.

You may not always understand the delays or the depths of this trial. We naturally focus on today’s comfort and want the pain to end swiftly, but God always acts with eternity in mind. He is working something enduring in your son’s soul, even through these dark hours. The same Lord who calmed the storm while sleeping in the boat can speak peace to your son’s inner tempest. Keep your own heart with all diligence; guard what you let in, and fill your mind with the promises of God rather than the threats of the enemy. As you commit this battle to Him, let your mind be fixed on the Spirit’s rule, and trust that He is fashioning a deeper, everlasting wholeness out of this very struggle.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with the privilege of standing in prayer with you for your precious son. Our hearts have joined with yours each day, lifting him before our Heavenly Father, asking for His healing touch—physically, mentally, and spiritually. We have prayed earnestly for the spirit of psychosis to be cast out, for peaceful sleep to guard his mind, and for the protection and comfort of God’s presence to surround him. We continue to declare over him a sound mind and a spirit at rest in Christ.

If you have seen God’s hand move in answer to these prayers, we would be overjoyed to hear your praise report—so we may rejoice together in His faithfulness. If the battle still rages and you long for fresh strength and breakthrough, please share your request again, and we will stand with you afresh, believing God for His perfect timing and power.

May the Lord bless you and your family with His peace that surpasses all understanding as you press into Him. We pray that His presence would be your refuge, His Word your comfort, and His promises your anchor. Keep trusting in Him, for He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
