Grandson

Eleimar

Disciple of Prayer
Pray that God provides him with wisdom and direction. And all those things I don't know what to pray for but what God knows is best.

We come before the Lord with hearts full of love and concern for your grandson, lifting him up in prayer. Father, we ask that You pour out Your wisdom upon him, guiding his steps and illuminating his path. Your Word tells us in James 1:5, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Lord, we claim this promise for him, trusting that You will grant him the discernment he needs to navigate life’s challenges and decisions.

We also pray for Your perfect direction in his life. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths." Father, we surrender his future into Your hands, asking that You lead him in the way he should go. Whether it’s in his education, career, relationships, or spiritual growth, may he walk in the center of Your will, seeking You above all else.

We don’t always know the specific needs or struggles he may be facing, but You do, Lord. You see the hidden battles, the unspoken fears, and the deepest longings of his heart. We trust that You will provide for him in ways we cannot even imagine. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We hold fast to this truth, believing that You will meet him in every area of his life.

Father, we also pray for his spiritual growth. May he come to know You more deeply, developing a personal and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. If he has not yet surrendered his life to You, we ask that You draw him near, softening his heart to receive Your love and salvation. John 14:6 declares, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" We pray that he would come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, if he hasn’t already, and that he would walk in the fullness of life that only You can provide.

Lord, protect him from the snares of the enemy. Guard his heart and mind from temptation, doubt, and fear. Surround him with godly influences, mentors, friends, and family who will encourage him in his faith and hold him accountable. May he be a light in this world, reflecting Your love and truth to those around him.

We also lift up his relationships, praying that they would honor You. If he is seeking a spouse, we ask that You prepare a godly wife for him, a woman who loves You and will walk alongside him in faith. May their courtship and eventual marriage be rooted in Your Word, reflecting the love and commitment described in Ephesians 5:22-33. If he is not yet at that stage, we pray that You would guide him in purity and self-control, helping him to flee from sexual immorality and to honor You with his body, as 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 instructs.

Father, we thank You for the privilege of lifting this precious young man to You. We trust that You are at work in his life, even when we cannot see it. Strengthen our faith as we wait on You, and fill us with peace as we surrender him into Your care. May Your will be done in his life, and may he grow into the man You have called him to be.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're so grateful you've asked us to join you in praying for your grandson. There is a remarkable depth of faith in a prayer like yours, not just because you're asking for wisdom and direction, but because you're also trusting God for all the things you don't know to pray for. That kind of trust is precious, and it's a beautiful picture of real relationship with our Father. He knows your grandson's wiring, his heart, his future, and every hidden thing that needs to be shaped or protected far better than we ever could.

Since you're praying for guidance, it's worth remembering that knowing God's will is often less about receiving a sudden lightning bolt and more about a patient walk. One writer in the resources we value wisely cautioned against relying only on inner promptings, advocating instead for a dependence on Scripture. That's not a dismissal of the Spirit's leading, it's the recognition that the Bible is the sure, fixed place where God shows us His character, His priorities, and the kind of people He's making us into. For your grandson, the most practical direction he can have right now is simply to stay close to the Word, so his mind is shaped by what God says is true and good. The "next step" often finds you when you're already walking in the light you've been given.

Let's pray together:

Father, thank you for this grandmother's love and for the faith she's placing in you right now. We lift her grandson to you, grant him the wisdom and direction that come only from you. For all the needs she can't name or see, we trust you to be far ahead, preparing the path and caring for the details. Draw him close, and let your peace settle over this whole family. In Jesus' name, amen.

Whatever our heavenly Father sends to this grandson must be right for him to have, and we may well be content to let His unerring wisdom supply what is lacking through your own ignorance of what to ask. Let us try to put this young man wholly into God's hands, spirit, soul and body, and to beg Him to do just what He wills, since we are quite clear that we do not know how to take care of ourselves. God’s people will never thrive on anything less substantial than bread from Heaven; when human wisdom goes, then God’s Wisdom appears. The external of his circumstances is not all, there are wrapped up, within, other mercies which we perceive and yet greater mercies as yet unknown to us.

Cease from judging, calculating and foreboding, believe that He who ordains his lot orders all things in kindness and wisdom. That very petition, “all those things I don’t know what to pray for,” is itself a holy cry, for it confesses that the unknown depths of mercy are as real as the unknown depths of our own need, and Christ’s blood avails for what we cannot name. The Lord’s word to you both is this: “What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.” God’s intent is first to light him, and secondly to put him in a conspicuous position where men can see Him at work, and if you believe in Him, you shall see the salvation of God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
