Disciple of Prayer
That all my brothers are influenced by God’s will above every situation, influence and decision; Jesus Christ is Lord always their highest priority. God breaks any unhealthy soul ties, spiritual strongholds, or misplaced compliance with women who are not their wives. Praying that no distraction or outside relationship compromises their rest, peace, or focus on the Lord. God grant them wisdom, discernment, knowledge, revelation and courage to yield only to God not unfruitful pursuits, but guard their hearts and invest in Jesus Christ being first always only.

We lift up your brothers in Christ, standing together in agreement for their unwavering devotion to God’s will above all else. Your heart for them reflects the apostle Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1:17-19, where he asks that the eyes of their hearts be enlightened to know God’s hope, riches, and power. We join you in declaring that Jesus Christ alone is Lord over every decision, influence, and situation in their lives.

Father, we rebuke every unhealthy soul tie, spiritual stronghold, or misplaced allegiance that would draw their hearts away from You. The Word warns in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" We pray against any compromise with women who are not their wives, whether in thought, emotion, or action, that would disrupt their peace or focus. Strengthen them to flee from temptation, as Joseph did in Genesis 39:12, and to guard their hearts diligently (Proverbs 4:23).

Lord, we ask that You break every distraction or outside relationship that competes with their devotion to You. Let their rest and peace come only from abiding in Christ, as He promises in John 15:4-5: "Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me." Grant them wisdom to discern Your voice above all others, and courage to yield only to Your will, not the empty pursuits of this world.

We declare that their hearts will be steadfast, fixed on Jesus as their highest priority. May they seek first Your kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33), investing their time, affections, and resources into what is eternal. Fill them with revelation knowledge of Your love and purpose, that they may walk in the fullness of their calling without wavering.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we stand against every scheme of the enemy to derail their faith. May they be rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as they were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness (Colossians 2:7). We trust You to complete the good work You’ve begun in them (Philippians 1:6), for Your glory alone. Amen.

Your love for your brothers and your longing to see them fully anchored in Christ comes through so clearly. It is a gift when a sibling carries another to the throne of grace this way.

One thing that often helps us when we pray for those we care about is remembering how spiritual discernment grows: not first by analyzing every influence, but by staying so close to Jesus that the contrast between His way and anything counterfeit becomes unmistakable. When we, like Peter, keep our eyes on Christ, we walk on water; when we look at the wind and waves, we sink. Praying that your brothers fix their gaze on Jesus, his goodness, his sufficiency, his love, is a powerful release. The wisdom and courage they need to reject what is unfruitful often flows from that simple, life-giving nearness.

We join you in asking God to deepen their daily friendship with Him through prayer, Scripture, and worship. And if they are married, we pray too that their marriages would be places of such safety and honesty that temptations lose their power in the light of a wife’s knowing love.

Lord Jesus, we lift these brothers to you. Be their supreme treasure and their first priority always. Break any tie that would pull them from you, and untangle their hearts from compliance with anything outside your design. Give them clear-eyed discernment, deep wisdom, and steady courage to yield to your voice alone. Guard their rest, their peace, and their focus, and keep them in the shelter of your presence. In your mighty name we pray, Amen.

There is no argument for sin, no matter how plausible it seems, when set against the deed of love done at Calvary. Those who plead for their own way, or for the gratifications of the flesh, are obliged to strain their understandings to avoid being convinced of the excellency of a life wholly given over to Christ. Yield yourselves unto God. Be as melted wax to the seal. Cry to yourselves, “Heart of stone, relent! relent! Melt by Jesus' love subdued!” For He who made the heart can melt it, and in that melting He stamps His own image. No misplaced compliance, no soul tie forged outside of His ordinance, can stand when the heart is laid low at the foot of the cross. It is there that tenderness is born into human hearts, and there that the Spirit breaks every fetter that would bind a man to an unfruitful pursuit.

Let your brothers look only to Jesus. The best argument to bring sinners to Christ is Christ Himself. If they would break free from spiritual strongholds, let them gaze upon the pierced heart that was rent for them. The heart of Jesus is meek, ready to forgive the past, and willing to bear with them in the present; it is a heart to receive sinners in a divine manner. But more, it is a heart that commands the undivided allegiance of those it redeems. Man fashions for himself a god after his own liking, but God leads the soul to know the true God manifested in the Person of the Lord Jesus. And to know Him is to love Him, and to love Him is to count all other dependencies as loss. Only let the Lord reveal Himself to the soul, and away these idols go! With loathing are they cast to the moles and to the bats.

This is the great work: to believe on Jesus Christ whom God has sent. It is not by our own resolutions or by fixing our gaze upon the sin that we overcome. Fly to your God and enter into His secret places till the tempest is over. Run at once to the mercy of God in Christ. There is a near passage to His very soul; you reach it by faith. Jesus suffers no distraction to compromise the peace of His own, for He who knew the trials of life is near to God, and those who are one with Him are near also. We never get to God in prayer unless it is through pleading the precious blood. Plead it for wisdom, for discernment, for courage to guard the heart. Plead it that these men might invest everything in Jesus Christ being first, always, and only.

Take care that your reverence and adoration are not given, in any degree, to any creature. Worship God, and God in Christ Jesus. This is the divine simplicity from which men seek to escape: to give the heart wholly as a son gives a gift to a father. It is the God-like work, the greatest work. And it pleases Him. Oh, give yourselves to Jesus, dear hearts! Give yourselves to Jesus! The Lord grant that no portion in this life, no relationship outside His ordinance, will hold the affections; for if your portion is in this life, what will you do in the life to come? May the Spirit unstop the ear to hear every syllable of the truth, and make the heart swift to yield. Amen.
