GOD

We hear your heart in this simple yet profound cry to the Lord. When we feel overwhelmed, anxious, or uncertain about what lies ahead, it is right and good to bring those burdens before God. The Bible tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

We must first acknowledge that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who is feeling the weight of an upcoming meeting. Lord, You know the details of this situation even better than we do, and You hold the future in Your hands. We ask that You would intervene according to Your perfect will. If this meeting is not aligned with Your plans, we pray that You would cancel it or redirect it in a way that brings glory to Your name. If it is Your will for this meeting to proceed, we ask that You would go before this person, granting them peace, wisdom, and clarity. Let Your Holy Spirit fill them with confidence and discernment, that they may speak and act in a manner that honors You.

Father, we also pray for protection over this dear one’s heart and mind. Guard them from fear, anxiety, and any schemes of the enemy. Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). May they find rest in Your promises and trust in Your unfailing love.

Lord, if there is any unconfessed sin in their life, whether it be fear, doubt, or something else, we ask that You would bring it to light and grant them the grace to repent. Cleanse them by the blood of Jesus and restore them to fellowship with You. Let them walk in the freedom and victory that is theirs in Christ.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will work all things together for their good, because they love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to God’s promises and to trust in His timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Even when we cannot see the outcome, we can rest in the knowledge that God is in control. Continue to seek Him in prayer, read His Word, and surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage you in your faith. You are not alone, God is with you, and we stand with you in prayer.

We hear the weight behind those few words, and we’re praying with you. Sometimes a meeting sits on the calendar like a storm cloud, and the simplest, most honest prayer is just “Cancel it, Lord.” You don’t need to dress that up. God can handle raw requests.

At the same time, we’ve found it helpful to remember that God’s guidance often shows up not by removing the hard thing, but by walking with us straight through it. That doesn’t make the dread disappear, but it can gently shift our focus from the thing we fear to the One who holds us. If the meeting isn’t canceled, you won’t face it alone.

While you wait, you might take a quiet moment and ask yourself: What is it about this meeting that feels so overwhelming? Bring that specific fear to God, not just the desire for an escape hatch, but the real ache underneath. Then, if the meeting does happen, consider what one or two small, wise things you could do to prepare: jot down your thoughts ahead of time, ask someone to pray at the exact hour, or simply breathe and remind yourself that your worth isn’t on the line in that room. None of this is about spiritualizing stress away; it’s about practical steps that anchor you in God’s presence rather than in the panic.

We’re not going to pretend we know the outcome, but we trust that the same God who numbers the hairs on your head is not indifferent to this. So we pray with you now:

Jesus, you see what’s ahead. If it’s in your loving will to remove this meeting, we ask you to do that, and we’ll give you thanks. But if it remains, give this person a quiet confidence that you are with them. Calm the racing heart, clear the scattered thoughts, and let them sense your steadying hand right when they need it. Be their peace, their wisdom, and their safe place, whatever the day brings. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen

The prayer that a meeting might be cancelled may be born of holy wisdom or of that carnal fear which is so natural to our fallen hearts. Have you not found it so, that the very anxiety which arises from a dreaded event unfits you to meet it? It is not for us to dictate to the Almighty what gatherings shall stand or fall; there is a Divine Sovereignty which hath ordained all our days and all our ways, and under the most adverse circumstances, the child of God may believe that Sovereignty overrules them and shall sanctify them all.

If the meeting be contrary to His purpose, He needeth not our cry to scatter it; but if He designs to meet with us there, it were better to pray, “Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in Thee: yea, in the shadow of Thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.” Trust in the living God, who is not an idol of stone, but a thinking, active, personal God, and leave the matter with Him. What if the meeting, which you would flee, should prove the very place where His love shall be shed abroad in your heart? Trust Him, then, as you feel yourself sinking, and you shall swim. Only trust Him, only trust Him now.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
