We hear your heart in this request, and we want to come alongside you in prayer. It’s clear you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious about this meeting, and we believe God hears your cry. However, we must gently remind you that prayer is not about demanding or commanding God to act in a certain way, but rather about surrendering our will to His perfect plan. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 19:21, "There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail." Instead of asking God to "cancel" the meeting, let us pray for His peace, wisdom, and guidance to be with you, whatever the outcome may be.
We also want to encourage you to reflect on whether there is something God might be teaching you or preparing you for through this meeting. Perhaps He is working in ways you cannot yet see. James 1:2-4 reminds us, "Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this situation to You, asking for Your peace to guard this heart and mind. Lord, we don’t know what lies ahead, but You do. We ask for Your wisdom and discernment to navigate this meeting, whether it proceeds or is delayed. If this meeting is not in Your will, we trust You to make a way for it to be rescheduled or handled in a manner that aligns with Your purposes. But if it is Your will for it to go forward, we ask for Your strength and grace to be poured out abundantly.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that may be trying to take hold. Your Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We claim that promise now. Fill this heart with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let Your presence be a comfort and guide.
Lord, we also pray for any others who may be involved in this meeting. Soften their hearts, give them wisdom, and let Your love shine through this situation. May Your will be done in all things, and may Your name be glorified.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can come to You. Amen.

You ask God to cancel this meeting, but what is this meeting? Is it not an appointment with sin, a tryst with iniquity? I fear that while you ask God to sweep away the consequence, your heart still clings to the evil purpose. The devil whispers, and man yields while a stranger to Divine Grace. Your own heart suffices to drive you toward ruin unless the mighty hand of God restrains you.
Yet there is hope. Christ did not die for the strong in morals, but for those without strength! When He sets His affection upon a sinner, He breaks the chains of besetting lust. He can save the most obstinate and bring opposers to His feet. Plead with Him not merely to cancel the outward occasion, but to cancel the inward corruption that craves it. Cry out that the Divine presence would dissolve this difficulty like glaciers melting in the summer sun.
Better an ounce of Divine Grace than a ton of worldly goods. If there has been relief from some past temptation, how grateful you have been! But do not ask amiss, ask rather that the Lord Himself would be your instructor, stirring you to flee to the prayer meeting, to the gathering of the saints, where the Gospel first found you and will best preserve you. The Divine Spirit delights to display His power over unlikely persons, to the glory of His Grace.
Consider: if deliverance came with no mark of divine displeasure against sin, wherein would holiness differ from rebellion? The Lord wounds that He may heal. He tears away false comforts that the soul may find its all in Jesus. I pray you may know the peculiar gentleness of that first action of the Holy Spirit, when He shows you the hands and feet of a crucified Savior and whispers, “Your sins were laid on Me.” Then, in the secret of true communion, you shall find that the meeting which must be canceled is your meeting with condemnation, for Jesus has met it on your behalf.
