We have heard your cry and we have carried it before the throne of grace, that God would heal you in head and heart and body, and set your feet in the straight and narrow way which is Christ Himself.
You ask to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to know His power upon your mind and your body, and to be delivered from every evil. Hear what the Scripture teaches, that only that which is born of the Spirit is spirit, and there must be a work from Heaven, a work of the Holy Spirit upon the heart, or else we still abide in death. The Holy Spirit must transform us by the renewing of our minds, we must be begotten again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. A holy life is the workmanship of the Holy Spirit, and without Him we can do nothing that shall be profitable except mischief.
Therefore we pray that the Holy Spirit would take the veil from your heart and show you Christ, for He receives of Christ and shows it unto us, and He glorifies Christ and not Himself. Cry then mightily unto God for His Spirit, for real prayer is praying in the Holy Spirit and by the Holy Spirit and through the Holy Spirit. It is the Spirit Himself who helps our infirmities and teaches us how to pray when we know not what to pray for as we ought.
We pray also that you may not grieve that tender and blessed Spirit by unbelief or by sin, for He is grieved when we give place to bitterness or unbelief, and yet He abides with His people forever. May the Lord grant that you may be kept by that same supernatural power of the Holy Spirit who alone can teach you and keep you from going back.
And for your affliction of head and heart and body, we ask the Lord who has found a ransom and has said, Deliver him from going down to the pit, to lay His healing hand upon you. May He quiet the distress of your mind, heal your body according to His perfect will, drive out all evil and oppression from you, and give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways, while His own Spirit dwells within you as a seal that you are His.
We pray that you would trust not in any feeling or experience alone, but in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. May you look to Him who bore sin and carried sorrow, and find in Him pardon, renewal, and that holy delight which the Spirit works in those whom He fills.
Father, hear this crying soul. Wash in the blood of Christ, renew by Thy Holy Spirit, heal head and heart and flesh, cast out every evil, and lead in the straight and narrow way that leads unto life, for Jesus sake. Amen.
