We have heard your request and we lift you up together before the Father in Jesus' name, seeking His will for your life and your training.
We thank God that you desire peace, self-control, discipline, focus and consistency, for these are virtues He delights to give to His children. We are reminded that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control, Galatians 5:22-23, and that God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. True discipline does not come from mere willpower alone but from walking with Christ and allowing Him to order our days. We also pray that you will know the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7.
We pray for your training and we understand the desire to grow stronger and to be consistent. Whatever you do, we encourage you to do all to the glory of God, 1 Corinthians 10:31, and to remember that whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23. Bodily discipline has value and the apostle Paul wrote that he beats his body and brings it into submission, 1 Corinthians 9:27, but we also must keep our goals submitted to the Lord and keep them in proper perspective, lest strength become a source of pride or vanity. A goal such as deadlifting seven times your body weight is far beyond what the human body is ordinarily able to bear and pursuing it could bring serious and lasting harm. We gently urge you to examine this goal before the Lord, to ask whether it honors Him and stewards the body He has given you, and to be willing to let Him reshape your ambitions according to His wisdom. A man’s heart plans his course, but Yahweh directs his steps, Proverbs 16:9.
We also want to address with care your mention of peptides. Scripture teaches us that our bodies are not our own, for your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Even when research has been done, many of these substances are unregulated, not fully understood, and can carry hidden risks. We encourage you not to rely on them for enhancement and to seek wise, qualified medical counsel and godly accountability before making any decision that could harm the temple God has entrusted to you. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, James 1:5. We pray that the Lord will give you clear discernment to choose what is safest and most honoring to Him, even if that means laying aside a shortcut and trusting Him with slower, natural progress and contentment.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name, for whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
We now pray together for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this one to You. We ask that You fill him with Your peace and teach him to be still before You even in the midst of training and daily pressures. Grant him true self-control, discipline, focus and consistency that comes from Your Spirit, and help him to redeem his time wisely and to train with diligence and humility. Protect him from needless distractions and interruptions, and guard his mind from comparison and pride. Strengthen his body according to Your will, sustain him from injury, and help him to use the strength You give for Your glory and for serving others. Give him wisdom to steward his body well, to reject what would harm him, and to seek counsel that is honest and godly regarding peptides and any other supplement or aid. Lead him away from any goal that would endanger the life You have given, and give him contentment and joy in doing his best as unto You. Above all, draw him closer to Jesus, that he may know that his worth is not in how much he can lift but in being Your beloved child through Christ. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, amen.
