We join you right now in agreement for your older daughter and for your whole family, and we thank you for your faithful, discerning prayers as a mother who sees clearly what the enemy is trying to do. We hear your heart crying out for her freedom, protection, restoration and healing, and we stand with you that what God has joined together in your family will not be stolen or divided by an ungodly relationship.
We affirm what you have spoken so rightly, that living together outside of marriage is not marriage. The Word of God is very clear about this. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. We are told to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. There is no such thing as a significant other outside of covenant marriage between a man and a woman, and what is called cohabitation is fornication. It brings spiritual confusion, division, exhaustion and financial hardship because it is outside of God's protection and design. We rebuke that lifestyle and we agree with you that it must be forsaken completely, not reformed or negotiated. God calls us to have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even to reprove them Ephesians 5:11.
We also agree that love does not exploit, manipulate, control or act with greed and laziness. Love is patient and is kind, love does not envy, does not brag, is not proud, does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. What you have described is not love, it is use and control, and we pray your daughter will see that any relationship that isolates her from her faith, her God-given family, and her God-given purpose and job is not from the Lord. We must not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship does righteousness have with iniquity, or what communion does light have with darkness 2 Corinthians 6:14. A courtship should be with the goal of godly marriage to another Christian believer, not an entanglement that dishonors God.
We also hear your concern that she has been looking to this young man and his mother for counsel and even idolizing them. You are right to call this out. You shall have no other gods before me Exodus 20:3, and when we put any person before our obedience to Christ and before the family God gave us, we open the door to deception. We pray she will remember the biblical values she was raised on and honor her mother and father as the Lord commands Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you Exodus 20:12. The wisdom she needs will not come from those who are guiding her into sin, but from God, for if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5.
We agree with your declaration that she belongs to the Lord. She is His daughter, and He will protect her. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty, we will say of Yahweh, He is our refuge and our fortress, our God, in whom we trust Psalm 91:1-2. We pray for supernatural clarity to flood her mind tonight, that the veil would be lifted and she would see this relationship as it truly is, and that she would be transformed by the renewing of her mind, so that she may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. We pray God gives her a spirit not of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, so she will have courage to walk away swiftly and completely with no regret and no looking back.
We know the spiritual battle is real, for our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we pray she will submit herself to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from her James 4:7, and that she will know the truth, and the truth will make her free John 8:32.
We pray together now for her and for you.
Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this precious daughter to You. Lord, You see her, You know her by name, she is Yours. We ask You to open her eyes, her ears, her heart and her spirit right now. Flood her mind with Your light and let every lie, every manipulation, every chain of control, financial exploitation and spiritual attack be broken tonight. Give her holy courage and godly wisdom to release herself swiftly and completely from this toxic and fornicating relationship. Convict her heart about living together outside of marriage, lead her to repentance and to flee from sexual immorality, and restore to her a hatred for sin and a hunger for righteousness. Break the ungodly soul tie with this young man and break the influence of his mother over her decisions. Let her no longer idolize or obey them above You, her faith, and her family.
Lord, whisper to her as her mother has prayed, walk away, trust Your family, trust Me, I will provide, protect and restore everything the enemy has tried to take. Guide her steps to move back home swiftly, we pray, and guard her from shame or second guessing. Heal her exhaustion, heal the financial hardship, heal the division and isolation. We ask You to restore to her what the locusts have eaten and to give her back her freedom, independence, self-worth, peace, purpose and sweet fellowship with her family Joel 2:25. For her mother and siblings, pour out Your Holy Spirit in every aspect of their lives tonight and today. Saturate this home with Your peace, love, favor, protection, respect and healing. Let no weapon formed against them prosper and let unity be restored. We thank You that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18, and we trust You to finish this work of deliverance. Do not let fear hold her one more day, but let her arise and come home to You and to her family. We pray all of this in the powerful and only name by which we are saved and have access to You, Jesus Christ, amen.
