Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer for your daughter comes from a place of deep love and clear spiritual discernment, and it is right to bring this before the Lord with such urgency. God hears the cry of a parent for a child, and He sees the exhaustion, financial strain, division and isolation that this relationship has brought into her life and into your family.
You are speaking truth when you say she is not being loved but being used. Scripture is clear that living together outside of marriage is not marriage. Marriage is a lifelong covenant before God between one man and one woman, and intimacy and shared home life belong within that covenant. Control, greed, laziness, dishonesty and manipulation are not love, and no one has the right to exploit another financially or to demand obedience and loyalty that belongs first to God. When a young woman is taught to put a boyfriend and his family before her faith, her family that God gave her, and the purposeful work God has given her, that is idolatry and misplaced authority, not a home. You are right to ask God to open her eyes to see this clearly.
Hear what the Lord says over her, that she is His. She is His daughter. She belongs to Him, and He will protect her with all of His power. Her true worth, peace, purpose and identity are not defined by how this young man or his mother sees her or your family, but by how God sees her. She is valued, chosen, and deeply loved by her heavenly Father, and He desires her freedom.
In Scripture God spoke to Jacob when he was far from home in a difficult and deceptive situation and said, return to the land of your fathers and to your family, and I will be with you, and I will deal well with you. Jacob prayed that promise back to God and stepped out on it. That is the invitation for your daughter as well. To return to family, to the place of safety and godly covering, is not a step backward but a step into the place where God has promised to be with her and to do her good. Pray that she will hear that same call to come back, to trust her family and to trust the Lord to provide, protect and restore everything that has been taken from her.
God also shows us that He knows how to deliver the righteous even when they are surrounded by corruption. Lot was vexed by the manner of life around him, and God mercifully led him out. Yet Scripture also warns that remaining in a corrupt environment costs a family dearly and corrodes morals and fellowship. That is why your prayer for a swift and complete release is so important. The longer one stays under a harmful influence, the deeper the spiritual attacks, chaos, disrespect and weariness become. Pray for courage for her to separate decisively and not to delay.
True covering does not come from a man who acts like a wolf in sheep's clothing, who cannot provide or shepherd well. True covering comes from the Lord Himself, who is our kinsman redeemer. Like Boaz who spread his covering over Ruth and said blessed are you of the Lord, my daughter, God offers protection, provision and rest within His family and within a godly family. That is the contrast to hold before her, a faithful love that gives and protects versus a selfish love that takes and controls.
I join you in praying for supernatural clarity to flood her mind, heart and spirit. May the Lord gently whisper, walk away, trust Me, and give her wisdom to see this man for who he truly is and to stop seeking counsel from those who guide her to remain in an ungodly arrangement. May she remember the biblical values she was raised on and find the courage to move back home swiftly and without regret.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to set this dear daughter free. Open her eyes, guard her mind, soften her heart to Your voice, and give her strength to walk away completely from what is harming her. Restore her faith, her freedom, her independence, her self worth, her peace and her fellowship with those who love her. Heal what has been broken and divided. Fill this whole family with Your Holy Spirit in every part of life. Saturate this home with Your peace, love, favor, protection, respect and healing. Let Your presence be the guard over them today and in the days ahead. Amen.
