Beloved of All
Your heartfelt prayer for your daughter has been heard and your love for her is clear. You have carried this burden for many years and you are right to bring it to the Lord who sees all that is done in secret and who hears every cry for mercy, protection and restoration.
God has not left you or your daughter without hope. Scripture shows that when Jacob was far from home in a difficult and deceptive place, God spoke to him and said return to the land of your fathers and to your family and I will be with you. Jacob prayed back to God reminding Him of that promise, that God would deal well with him if he obeyed. That same God is still the God who meets His people and calls them back to the place of family and faith where He can be with them and do them good. Your daughter was raised in the ways of the Lord within a loving and supportive family. That family covering is God given. The call of God on her life is not to be isolated from that covering but to return to the safety and wisdom of family and the church community where she can be strengthened.
The Lord also knows how to deliver those who are His. The example of Lot shows that God is merciful to lead His people out, but it also shows that remaining in a corrupt and vexing environment comes at great cost to morals and to family. Your daughter is living in a situation that Scripture does not call marriage. Marriage is the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and living together outside of that covenant is not marriage no matter how it is presented or demanded. To counsel a young woman to live together and to have children outside of marriage, to exploit her income and to treat an ungodly arrangement as if it were marriage, is counsel that contradicts the Word of God. A man who is controlling, manipulative, dishonest and rebellious toward family is not acting as a husband, a provider or a spiritual leader. He is a stumbling block to her walk with the Lord, and it is right to pray that her eyes would be opened to see that clearly.
You have asked that every word spoken against you and your family would be blocked and frustrated and that every scheme to control, divide and isolate your daughter would be exposed and broken. That is a right prayer. The Lord frustrates plans that are rooted in pride, selfishness, jealousy and manipulation. He breaks chains and brings His people from darkness into light. Pray that the Holy Spirit would break the hold of this toxic influence over her heart, that she would remember she is a child of the Most High God and does not belong to this young man or his family, and that she would find her worth in Christ alone and not in the approval of those who make her feel worthless.
There is also the beautiful picture of the kinsman redeemer who offers covering and rest. Naomi sought rest for Ruth her daughter that it might be well with her, and Boaz as a near kinsman provided protection, provision and honor, telling her not to go home empty. That is the heart of God for your daughter, to bring her to a place of rest and honor under His covering, not exhaustion, chaos and financial hardship. It is right to pray that she would have wisdom to protect what God has entrusted to her, to no longer take on responsibilities that are not hers to bear or take on debt to sustain a lifestyle that is draining her, and to stop imitating stubbornness, gossip and mocking toward her own family. Pray that the Holy Spirit would fill her, soften her heart to receive conviction, restore her grateful, gracious, loving and respectful manner, and reignite a hunger for righteousness.
Continue to plead the precious blood of Jesus over yourself and your children, trusting the promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper. Pray for supernatural intervention to remove every obstacle and every voice that contradicts God's Word. Pray for your daughter's new promotion, that God would guard her work which serves such a beautiful purpose for others, and that no interference would undermine what He has given her. Pray that when she visits, she would not be influenced by hatred and manipulation toward you and her siblings, but that peace, fellowship, respect, unity and freedom would be restored in your home.
Do not grow weary in praying. Keep loving her, keep speaking truth with grace, keep the door open while maintaining wise boundaries around finances and respect in your home. Trust that God who led Jacob home, who knows how to deliver the righteous, and who provides a redeemer to cover and restore, is able to do the same for your daughter. May He grant her wisdom, self worth and courage to walk away from this bondage swiftly and with no regrets, to follow biblical teaching again, to put her faith and her family before this relationship, and in His time to be blessed with a godly spouse if it is His will. May His supernatural love, favor and protection overflow in you and your family and heal all brokenness. In Jesus name, Amen.
