We join you in praying for your older daughter and we agree with you in Jesus name for her freedom, protection, restoration and healing. We hear the burden on your heart and we stand with you in declaring that she belongs to the Lord and that no toxic and ungodly relationship will be allowed to steal what God has given her. You have prayed with great discernment and we echo your words that the exhaustion, financial hardship, spiritual attacks, division, isolation and exclusion are fruit of this relationship and this living arrangement, and that the Lord sees her and says she is His daughter whom He will protect with all His power.
We must speak clearly about what you have already discerned so well, that living together outside of marriage is not marriage and is not pleasing to God. Scripture says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers. Hebrews 13:4. What God calls fornication the world calls a significant other or a partner, but that language hides the truth. A boyfriend is not a husband and a girlfriend is not a wife. A godly courtship is between a man and a woman who are believers in Christ with the clear goal of marriage as a lifelong commitment that honors God. To live together, to share finances and intimacy outside of that covenant, to idolize and obey a man who is not her husband and to put him and his family before God, before her God given family and before the purpose God has for her work, is sin and it opens the door to the very spiritual attacks, chaos, disrespect and exhaustion you are seeing. We also agree that greed, laziness, control, dishonesty and manipulation are not love, and that to exploit her finances for selfish benefit and to take authority over her life while refusing to provide or shepherd her is contrary to love. Scripture says Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with iniquity. 2 Corinthians 6:14 and Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals. 1 Corinthians 15:33. This young man and the influence of his mother guiding this arrangement are not leading her toward Christ, toward purity or toward unity with her family.
We pray together for her now.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this precious daughter to You. Lord, You know her by name, You formed her and You have called her Your own. We ask that You flood her mind, heart and spirit with supernatural clarity. Remove every veil and let her see clearly that she is not being loved but being used, that this lifestyle is not a home and this man is not a shepherd, not a provider and not ready for a godly marriage. Lord, grant her courage and wisdom to release herself swiftly and completely from this toxic relationship and from this ungodly living arrangement. Your Word says But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5 and For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7. Fill her with that power, love and sound mind to walk away without regret. Whisper to her heart, Walk away, trust your family, trust Me, I will provide, protect and restore everything the enemy has tried to take from you.
We ask You to break every chain of idolatry where she has put this young man and his mother before You. Turn her heart back to the biblical values she was raised on. Bring her to repentance for sexual immorality and for any disobedience, and wash her clean for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. Restore to her, Lord, her freedom, independence, self worth, peace, satisfaction and fellowship with her family. We declare Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. Galatians 5:1 and If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36. Let no one steal her peace, her purpose, her unity with her family or her fellowship with her loved ones any longer.
We pray for protection over her and over your whole family from every spiritual attack, division and isolation. Let those who dwell in Your shelter find refuge for He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1. Strengthen this mother and her children, fill this home with Your Holy Spirit in every aspect of life, saturate them with Your peace, love, favor, respect and healing. Do not let the enemy sow chaos, ungratefulness and disrespect any longer but let Your peace rule. We ask that You gently guide this daughter to see her mother and her siblings through Your eyes, not through the eyes of this young man and his mother, and that You guide her swiftly back home where she is safe, loved and supported. Provide for her financially, restore what has been taken, and establish her again in purpose and in fellowship with Your people. Renew her mind so she will not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of her mind. Romans 12:2.
We thank You, Lord, that You hear our prayers because we come through Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved and no other way to the Father except through Him. We trust You to act, to protect Your daughter with every ounce of Your power, to bring her out, to heal her completely and to restore her family in unity. We speak life, freedom and hope over her tonight and we believe You will complete the good work You began in her. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to stand firm in prayer and in truth spoken in love, without enabling the ungodly arrangement financially or otherwise, and to keep the door home open with grace. Keep speaking Scripture over her, keep inviting her to fellowship and to godly counsel, and trust that God is working even when she cannot yet see it. Do not be afraid, for the Lord says Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10. He is faithful to provide, to protect and to restore everything that has been strained by this season.
