Disciple of Prayer
Dear god, I know I'm going to be leaving soon. I don't know when. I don't know where I'm going. I don't know if I'm going to be staying with someone or if I'm going back into the shelter. I ask that you make that decision for me. If I stay with someone I ask that you hand pick that person. If I go into the shelter I ask that you hand pick which one you want me to go into. I ask that put some things in place for me. I ask that you decide when. I ask that you let me know and give me a sign. I ask that everything is planned out for me in Jesus name. If me and ### reconcile our relationship then I will come to the party shes having for me. And if ### is not here. I pray that it doesn't get to the point where we fighting. I pray it doesn't get to the point of her bringing ### into our home. If i decide to come and get my things after I move out I pray for peace. Where do you want me to move to? Do you want me to move back in this complex or somewhere else. And if so where. When I have my kids I ask that you pick the names for me. I want all of them to have beautiful fancy elegant names. With beautiful meanings. I ask that you move in all this in Jesus name amen.

We hear your heart, dear one, and we stand with you in seeking God’s perfect will for your life. You are surrendering your plans to Him, and that is a beautiful act of faith. The Lord delights in guiding His children, and we know He has a purpose for every step you take. "For I know the plans I have for you,” says Yahweh, 'plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future.'" (Jeremiah 29:11) You are not alone in this uncertainty, God sees your needs, your fears, and your desires, and He will direct your path.

First, we must address the foundation of your prayer. You close with "in Jesus’ name," and we rejoice that you recognize His authority. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, for "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12) If you have not already, we encourage you to confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, repenting of any sin and trusting in His finished work on the cross. This is the first and most important decision you will ever make, and it ensures that every other decision flows from a heart aligned with God’s will.

Now, regarding your living situation, we pray that the Lord would indeed make your path clear. Whether it is a shelter or a home with someone, we ask that He would go before you, preparing the way. "Whether you turn to the right hand or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way. Walk in it.'" (Isaiah 30:21) We trust that God will give you a sign, as you have asked, and that it will be unmistakable. But we also encourage you to seek wisdom in practical ways, praying, fasting, and seeking counsel from godly believers who can help you discern God’s leading.

About the relationship with , we must speak truth in love. If this is a romantic relationship, we urge you to examine whether it aligns with God’s design for marriage, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. If there has been sin, such as fornication or strife, we must rebuke it in Jesus’ name. "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." (Hebrews 13:4) If this relationship is not built on Christ, it will only lead to more pain. We pray for reconciliation only if it is God’s will and if it honors Him. If not, we ask the Lord to give you the strength to walk away in peace.

We also lift up your desire for children and their names. While it is beautiful to want meaningful names, we must first pray for the Lord to prepare you for the sacred responsibility of parenthood. Children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and raising them in the fear of God is a high calling. We pray that God would give you wisdom in this area, whether He blesses you with children or calls you to another path.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who is seeking Your will in every area of life. Lord, You know the uncertainties they face, where they will live, how they will provide, and the relationships in their life. We ask that You would go before them, making their path straight. Give them clarity, peace, and a sign that leaves no doubt about Your leading. If there is sin in any relationship, convict their heart and lead them to repentance. If reconciliation is not Your will, grant them the strength to walk away in peace.

Father, we pray for their future, whether as a parent or in another calling. Prepare their heart for the responsibilities ahead, and give them wisdom in every decision. Most of all, we pray that they would know You more deeply, surrendering their life fully to Jesus Christ. May they walk in obedience, trusting that Your plans for them are good.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel, spend time in God’s Word, and listen for His voice. He will not leave you without direction. If you do not have a Bible, we would be happy to help you find one. You are not forgotten, God has a plan, and He will see it through.

We can feel the weight in your words. When the where and the when are all unknown, even small decisions feel heavy. You have not been forgotten in that uncertainty. It is good that you are bringing all of this to God, but we also want to help you carry the practical side.

One step we would encourage this week is to contact a shelter intake coordinator or a housing case manager and ask directly about current openings, wait times, and what you would need to bring. Having that information, even if you hope to stay with someone, will help you make a decision from facts rather than fear. If staying with someone is an option, we would simply ask you to notice whether that home feels safe and stable, not just available. You are allowed to choose the place that gives you the most peace and room to rebuild.

For the party and the relationship questions, let those wait until your housing is settled. You do not have to answer every relational issue at once. As for a sign, we have found God often guides through open doors, wise counsel, and a growing sense of peace about one path. We are also praying for your children and for the names you hope to give them someday, but first we are asking God for a safe landing for you.

Father, you see every unknown in this person’s life: the timing, the place, the people, and the next step. Give clarity where there is confusion and peace where there is pressure. Open the right door and close what would bring harm. Surround this person with wise counsel and safe helpers. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Prayers for your situation - please do not allow yourself to be mistreated. God sees your worthiness - let God guide you while granting you peace and wisdom. Prayers in the name of Jesus.

You have laid all your wanderings before the Lord, and that is right, for He who kept David in the wilderness can keep you. Yet be sure you seek first a peace not made by circumstances. There is a false peace which says, "Peace, peace," where there is no peace. The only solid peace is peace with God through the blood of Jesus Christ. Until you have that, every choice about shelter and company will be a tossing sea.

Divine Sovereignty is comfortable to the child of God. It means the Lord has not left your going out and coming in to blind chance. But His sovereign guidance does not usually come by signs that we demand. It comes by His Word, by the counsel of the godly, by doors opened and shut, and by the Spirit subduing your will to say, "Not my will, but Thine." Do not demand a sign; ask instead for an obedient heart.

Concerning whether you stay with someone or enter a shelter, you may ask the Lord to choose, and He will. But test every proposed refuge by this rule: Does it permit me to keep God's commandments? If the person with whom you would stay would draw you back into sin, or if the arrangement would be one that God calls unclean, then the open door is a snare. The Lord's handpicked place for you will not require you to violate His law. You may lose a roof, but you cannot lose a clean conscience. Whether you return to the same complex or go elsewhere, the place is not the chief matter; the Lord's presence makes any place a Bethel, and His absence makes any house a prison.

Concerning the one you named: I will not ask God to bless a quarrelsome reunion or a bond that Scripture forbids. If it is a friendship that may be restored in purity, pray for peace, but let it be the peace of God, not the peace of the devil which lulls the conscience while sin remains. If the party would bring you into the presence of those who stir up wrath, or into a home where another is brought in contrary to God's word, decline it. Better to be absent and safe than present and ensnared. When you gather your belongings, go with another believer, speak few words, and let the peace of Christ rule in your heart. You are not bound to fight; you are bound to follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

About names for children, ask the Lord for wisdom, but do not set your heart on fancy elegance as the chief thing. A name may be beautiful in the mouth of man and yet the child may not be born of God. Pray that their names be written in the Lamb's book of life, and choose names that carry the promises of Scripture. The Lord will give you discretion.

Cast all this upon Him, for He careth for you. You have asked that everything be planned out. It is already planned in the eternal counsel, and the Shepherd who has gone before you will make plain the path, if not at once, then step by step. "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee." Trust Him now, and let your chief prayer be that you may be found in Christ, at peace with God, whether in a shelter or in a house, whether alone or among people. That is the only portion that cannot be taken from you.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
