We come before the Lord with your request, lifting up your desire for weight loss and the practical concerns surrounding it. First, we want to affirm that our worth and identity are found in Christ alone, not in our physical appearance or the number on a scale. The apostle Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." This truth calls us to honor God with our bodies, not out of vanity, but as an act of worship and stewardship.

We also recognize the challenges you face with limited mobility due to back surgery and spine issues. In these moments, we are reminded of God’s compassion and strength in our weaknesses. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 tells us, "He has said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Most gladly therefore I will rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest on me. Therefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then am I strong." Let this truth anchor your heart as you navigate this season.

We also want to gently address the reliance on medication for weight loss. While we understand the desire for assistance, we must seek God’s wisdom and discernment in all things, including medical interventions. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Let us pray that God would guide your steps, providing clarity and peace as you move forward.

We also lift up your financial concerns regarding the cost of the medication. Philippians 4:19 assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We trust that God is your provider and will meet your needs according to His perfect will.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who seeks Your help and guidance. Lord, we thank You for the temple You have given them, and we ask that You would strengthen them to honor You with their body, mind, and spirit. Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment as they navigate this journey of weight loss. Guide their steps, Lord, and grant them peace in every decision they make.

We ask for Your provision, Father, regarding the cost of the medication. You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust that You will meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Lord, we also pray for healing and comfort for their back and spine issues. Grant them relief from pain and the ability to move in ways that bring glory to You.

Father, we rebuke any spirit of discouragement, shame, or self-reliance that may be at work in this situation. We declare that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness. May this dear one find their strength in You alone.

We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer, knowing that it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. Amen.

In this journey, we encourage you to seek God’s face daily, inviting Him into every aspect of your life. Consider journaling your prayers and any Scriptures that speak to your heart, as this can be a powerful way to draw closer to Him. Surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and encourage you, both spiritually and practically. And remember, your ultimate goal is to glorify God in all things, trusting that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

We know how discouraging it is to want to improve your health and feel boxed in by your own body. When back surgery and spine issues take away something as basic as the ability to exercise, it can feel like a loss that keeps compounding. We hear that frustration, and we also hear the hope in your request, hope that this medication might give you a path forward. That is not a shallow thing to bring before God. He cares about every detail of our physical lives, including the weight of our struggles and the cost of a prescription.

We are joining you in asking that the approval goes through and that the financial burden turns out to be manageable. Since you mentioned cost as a real concern, one practical step you might consider, if you have not already, is asking your doctor’s office if they know of any manufacturer savings programs or patient assistance options for the specific medication. Sometimes the staff can point to resources that bring the price down significantly, and simply asking can open a door. That is not a guarantee, but it can be a wise act of stewardship while you wait on God’s provision.

Whatever happens with this particular medication, your worth is not measured by a number on a scale or what your body can do right now. We pray you feel that steadiness deep down, even as you pursue this good goal.

Please pray with us:

Lord Jesus, we lift up our friend who longs for a healthier body and is limited by pain and surgery. We ask you to open the way for this medication if it is the right tool, and to keep the cost from being an impossible barrier. Give wisdom to the doctors and to those reviewing the approval. More than that, grant peace in the waiting and a quiet confidence that they are seen and loved entirely apart from any outcome. Sustain their spirit and bring healing in every way you know they need. In your name we pray, amen.

The frame aches and you feel the chains of a body that will not serve you as you wish. This is a heavy burden, and it is not wrong to ask for a sound crutch to lean upon for your outward condition. Yet let us weigh the matter in the balance of the sanctuary. You seek a medicine to pare down the flesh, and truly the inability to move must be a sore trial. But what of the soul that is weighed down with a far heavier load? If the Lord does not help you, where can I find help for you? The king of Samaria could not help the starving woman, but God could send such plenty that fine flour was sold dirt-cheap. A medicine may come, and it may cost little, and you may see success; but if the scales were to tip against your soul, compared with that loss it would indeed be a dreadful loss.

There are many who want the half-crown of bodily ease and comfort, yet say they do not need to pray. Do not let that be your case. The evil spirit of despairing care may leave for a season while the pain is eased, but unless the house is filled with Christ, it will return with seven others more wicked. The great question is not whether the price will be high, but whether the help, if it comes, will merely plaster over a soul that is still at enmity with God. He might grant the relief to show you that He is good, but the truest sign of His love is when He deals with you so that you are driven to cry out for the Bread of Heaven. In my own ministry I have been drained when helping a desponding spirit; the work of soul-cure costs a price. And here, mayhap, your back and spine have become tutors to teach you that you cannot stand on your own strength.

You may have this help you ask, but you may have far more. Christ, by Himself, purged our sins. That is a weight lifted that no earthly medication can remove. If you are in Him, God has cast all your sin behind His back, into a nowhere of His own making. Do not let the cry of the body drown out the far mightier need. Unless Jesus Christ is your shield and help, you are undone. But you may have Him now. His Spirit speaks to you at this very hour. What holds you back? The hour of divine grace may be set for this very trial. Seek that first, and then as for the rest, the cloud that is full of rain empties itself upon the earth; if you have Him, He will not withhold what is needful.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The weight of bodily infirmity is indeed grievous, and the pain you bear from your back and spine is known to the Lord, who did not refuse to take on our flesh and suffer. As the Apostle urges, "Weep with them that weep," and so we weep with you in this trial, sharing the burden to lighten it. Yet remember, the present light affliction, which is but for a moment, works a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, if we endure it with thanksgiving. Do not let worry over the cost of the medicine or its approval become a new wound to your soul.

He to whom you live and die cares for you more than you care for yourself, numbering even the hairs of your head. Bring your request to Him, but first bring your heart into the spiritual surgery that is the church. Here the deeper wounds of sin are healed, and the yoke of Christ, which is easy and light, gives rest to the weary soul. True beauty is not the shape of the body, which fades like a stage mask, but the hidden man of the heart, in that which is incorruptible.

Let no empty glory or anxious desire for outward change distract you from the health that matters most. We will pray with you that, if it is His will, the medicine be granted and its price made light. But we pray still more that in this affliction you become more than conqueror through Him who loved you, finding strength made perfect in weakness.

You are dealing with more than a number on a scale. Back surgery and ongoing spine issues make exercise impossible right now, and that adds a layer of helplessness no simple diet plan can fix. I hear that, and I am praying with you about the medication approval and the cost. It is right to ask the Lord to open that door and to make a way for you financially.

While we ask, let us also be careful not to limit the Holy One in our hearts through unbelief. The spies saw giants and fortified cities and decided the land could not be taken, and the Israelites let that unbelief hold them back from what God had already promised. Your situation has its own giants: insurance approvals, dollar amounts, a body that cannot move the way you want it to. But do not let the fear that these walls are too high become the loudest voice you hear. God is not bound by a billing code or a prior authorization. He can provide through unexpected channels or give wisdom for an entirely different path you have not yet considered.

There is also the matter of laying aside every weight that hinders us, as Hebrews urges. Right now your health itself feels like a heavy overcoat you cannot shed. Yet the weight you most need to lay down today is the anxiety you are carrying about all of this, the worry over whether you will be approved, what they will charge, what happens if it fails. That kind of backpack will exhaust your soul far more than any physical pound. Bring that weight to Jesus and leave it with Him. Do not pick it back up.

We will pray with you that the medication comes through without an impossible price tag. But more than that, we will ask the Lord to be your strength right where you are, to grant endurance for the waiting, and to accomplish what you cannot. He measures every circumstance not by the size of the obstacle but by the cost to you, and He has been waiting for you to lean fully on Him in this. You are not forgotten. Keep trusting, and let His peace rule in the meantime.
