We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the escalating tensions between nations, particularly the conflict involving Iran and the United States. The ripple effects of war touch families, economies, and communities far beyond the battlefield, and we stand in the gap, crying out for peace as the Scriptures command. In 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (WEB), we are instructed, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence." Heavenly Father, we intercede for leaders on all sides, asking that You soften hearts hardened by pride, fear, and political agendas. Let wisdom prevail over recklessness, dialogue over destruction, and reconciliation over retaliation. We declare that Proverbs 21:1 (WEB) is true: "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires." Turn the hearts of those in authority toward peace, Lord, and let Your justice and mercy guide their decisions.

For your husband’s job security and the restoration of work for so many affected, we pray with faith, knowing that God is our Provider. Philippians 4:19 (WEB) assures us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Yet we also recognize that economic stability is often tied to the peace and stability of nations. Father, we ask that You open doors no man can shut and provide opportunities for your husband and all those facing uncertainty. Let industries and businesses thrive again, not by human effort alone, but by Your divine favor. We rebuke the spirit of fear and lack that seeks to grip hearts, declaring that 2 Timothy 1:7 (WEB) is our reality: "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."

We also take a moment to address the foundation of our prayers, our relationship with Jesus Christ. You closed your prayer with gratitude to Jesus, and we rejoice in that, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. John 14:6 (WEB) declares, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Acts 4:12 (WEB) reinforces this: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to reign in your life. This is the first and most critical step in experiencing true peace, not just in the world, but in your heart.

We stand on the promise of Matthew 18:19-20 (WEB), which says, "Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them." Together, we agree in Jesus’ name for the following:

Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, broken by the suffering of war and the anxieties of economic instability. We ask that You intervene in the conflicts between nations, particularly between Iran and the United States. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts of leaders and citizens alike. Break the chains of hostility and replace them with a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect. We pray for Your protection over soldiers, civilians, and families caught in the crossfire, shield them from harm and provide for their needs.

For those facing job insecurity, including this dear sister’s husband, we ask for Your provision. Open doors of opportunity, restore what has been lost, and grant wisdom to those in positions to make decisions that impact livelihoods. Let Your favor rest upon workers and employers, that they may operate in integrity and generosity. We declare that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper.

Lord, we also pray for the Church to rise up in this hour. Let believers be beacons of hope, salt and light in a world darkened by conflict and fear. Equip us to pray without ceasing, to act with compassion, and to speak truth with love. May our lives reflect the peace of Christ, drawing others to the hope found only in Him.

We rebuke every spirit of division, violence, and economic sabotage in Jesus’ name. We declare that Your kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust in You, for with You, all things are possible.

We can only imagine how heavy this feels right now, holding concern for the world while also carrying the personal weight of what this means for your husband's livelihood and your family's stability. When the news cycles fixate on conflict and tension, it's easy for fear to settle deep in our chest. You've named two very real burdens at once: the broader situation and the immediate, practical worry about his job. That's a lot to carry.

When job security starts to waver, the anxiety often lives in the gaps between what we know and what we can't know yet. One step that sometimes helps is simply naming the unknowns out loud together with your husband and then sorting them into two piles: the things you can actually influence right now (updating his resume, reaching out to contacts, cutting back on a few expenses to build a small cushion) and the things you cannot control (the global news, the decisions of distant leaders, the exact timeline of his work resuming). The first pile becomes a manageable to-do list you can work through together; the second becomes the specific list you hand over to Jesus each evening. That practice doesn't fix the situation, but it can keep the worry from swirling into every corner of your day.

Jesus, we lift up this wife, her husband, and all who are being affected by this conflict. You see the pressure they're under. Calm their hearts and clear their minds. Provide for their needs in ways they can't yet see, and sustain their hope. We ask for your peace to guard them as they wait. In Jesus' name.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. The Lord reigns, let that truth be an anchor for your soul in these troubled times. You cry for an amicable solution to strife among nations, and rightly so, for war is a terrible scourge that affects the righteous and the wicked alike. Yet remember, all the days of our appointed time are a warfare, and the conflicts of earth, whether between kings or within a household, are but a part of that greater conflict in which every believer is engaged. Do not let the fear of temporal loss drive you to despair, for the main thing in all our affairs is not to sin. If the grace of God keeps your heart from murmuring or distrust, then Satan is defeated, even if the trial presses hard. Your husband’s work, your daily bread, these are matters for which our Lord taught us to pray collectively, “Give us this day.” Bring them continually before the throne, for prayer is the grand thing for us who have no might of ourselves. It is wonderful what prayer can do.

When you stand in the gap for your husband’s security and for the peace of nations, imitate the patriarch Job, who found his own captivity turned when he prayed for his friends. Intercede with confidence, for the Gospel is your lever, and full assurance must be the arm to work it with. Say not merely, “I hope there may be lifting up,” but declare with the boldness of faith, “There is lifting up.” God has been a Husband to His people, marvelously faithful in His love, and He will not forsake the wife who casts her care upon Him. Yet be watchful against the temptation to grow stale in your petitions. Long for freshness in your supplication, that your cries may not become a worn garment but rise as a living sacrifice. In the hidden part, where wisdom is made known, the Lord works even through the very trial that drives you to your knees. The work of His Spirit does not supersede your earnest effort; it excites it, so press on, steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in prayer for those near and far.

All things work together for good to them that love God, not by removing every storm, but by sanctifying the storm to our eternal benefit. If the war continues or if your husband’s employment falters, still cleave to this: none is able to pluck you out of Christ’s hand. He who began a good work in you will perform it unto the day of His appearing. Your captivity, however long it seems, has a bottom; the depths of mercy lie beneath every depth of distress. Go, then, with childlike confidence, even when He seems to frown, and lay all your glory at the Redeemer’s feet as you await the answer. May the Holy Spirit keep you from a complaining spirit and instead fill your mouth with praise, for the Lord will surely turn the captivity of those who, in the midst of their own need, remember to intercede for others.

You do well to bring this request to the Lord Jesus, for with Him all things are indeed possible. He is the Word of peace, who ended the far greater war between us and God. If He has delivered us from enmity with the Father and made us sons, will He not hear our cry for the troubles of this world? Pray then without ceasing for kings and all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. That is what the Apostle urges, and so I exhort you to continue your supplication for an end to this conflict between nations.

Yet while you pray, guard your own heart first. The worst war is not abroad but within, when the soul is at variance with the body, when fears and anxieties stir up a tempest in the mind. What profit is it if the world enjoys a fragile peace while you yourself are at war? Seek that peace which passes understanding, the peace that Christ gives not as the world gives. Place your husband and his work in the hands of the Good Shepherd; none shall thrust him out of that secure pasture. Even if earthly employment wavers, your true security is in Him. The Lord knows what you need before you ask, and He often permits these trials to sever us from trust in riches and bind us more closely to Himself. Remember the woman at the well: Jesus knew her whole story, and He knows yours. He sees the weight you carry for your household. Lay it before Him with honesty and then leave it there.

Strive also to be a peacemaker in your own sphere; for blessed are the peacemakers, and nothing so delights God as a heart that remembers no evil. Let no bitterness against any people or ruler take root in you, but imitate the Son of God who prays for even His enemies. So you will be at peace with God, and then outward storms will not be able to harm your soul. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ attends your prayers; in Him the victory is already won.

The cry of your heart is not lost on God. When nations threaten and livelihoods feel fragile, fear can set in quickly, but you have already done the most important thing: you have turned to Jesus, the one who holds all authority in heaven and on earth. The situation between nations may seem like a storm no human hand can calm, yet the Scriptures consistently show us that behind every earthly power there is a throne that cannot be shaken. Even the adversary can do nothing without permission, and the outcome is always bounded by the will of God.

There is a man in the Bible whose story teaches us much about enduring storms we did not choose and could not explain. Everything he owned was stripped from him in a single day, not because he had done wrong, but because a deeper contest was taking place beyond his sight. His friends assumed he must have sinned to suffer so terribly. They spoke many true things about God’s justice, but they applied them wrongly, because they did not know the hidden background. This man never got a full explanation for his losses. He wrestled, he questioned, he longed for a mediator who could stand between him and God, laying a hand on both. Yet in the middle of it all, he did not curse the Lord. He fell to the ground and worshiped, declaring that we come into this world with nothing and leave with nothing, and that the Lord’s name deserves praise regardless of our circumstances.

I share this because you are not being punished, and you are not forgotten. The upheaval you are watching overseas touches your own family, and that weight is real. But God has not overlooked you. The same unseen restraint that limited the stripping of that man’s life still operates today. No conflict advances an inch beyond what the Almighty allows, and no detail of your husband’s work escapes His notice. Jesus himself taught us that not even a sparrow falls without the Father’s knowledge, and you are worth more than many sparrows.

Keep bringing that plea, for an amicable solution, for stability, for continued work, right to Jesus. He is the daysman you need, the mediator who fully bridges God and humanity. His intercession is constant, and He is not cold to your anxiety. When the path looks chaotic and the future seems uncertain, trust that He is refining you, not destroying you. The man I mentioned eventually discovered that when God finally spoke, the answer was not a list of explanations but a revelation of who God is. That was enough. In your case, you already know that with Jesus all things are possible, so cling to that hope. The righteous hold on to their way, and those with clean hands grow stronger, because the Lord secures what He promises.

Pray with confidence, then rest in His care. Ask Him to guide the hearts of those in power, to grant unexpected paths toward peace, and to protect your household through the strain. I am joining you in that request, trusting that He who watches over you neither slumbers nor sleeps. He sees the nations as a drop in a bucket, and He sees the name and need of your husband as well. Keep your eyes on the one whose purposes stand firm forever.
