We rejoice with you in your desire to seek vision from God rather than simply pursuing your own personal goals, and we join with you in prayer in Jesus' name for His revelation and guidance in your life.
You have quoted Proverbs 29:18 so well, where it is written Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint, but one who keeps the law is blessed. Proverbs 29:18. This reminds us that true vision is not merely our own ambition or imagination, but the revealed will and Word of God that keeps us on His path and under His blessing. We also thank God with you that He does not change like shifting shadows, for Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow. James 1:17. What He promises, He fulfills, and what He reveals, He will bring to pass in His perfect timing.
We also take comfort that God still speaks to His people, for it is written I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams. Acts 2:17 and also If there is a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream. Numbers 12:6. Yet we know that every vision must be tested against the perfect and unchanging Word of God, for Beloved, don’t believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God. 1 John 4:1 and Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path. Psalm 119:105. Any true vision from God will never contradict Scripture, will exalt Jesus Christ, and will draw us closer to holiness and obedience.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him with your whole heart, not just for an experience but for Him. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6. And we remember His promise For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11. His vision for you is better and higher than any personal goal you could set for yourself, and we pray you will have grace to write it down and wait for it as it says Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he who runs may read it. For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hurries toward the end, and won’t prove false. Though it takes time, wait for it, because it will surely come. It won’t delay. Habakkuk 2:2-3.
We pray together now.
Heavenly Father, we come before You together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You for our brother or sister who hungers for Your vision and not their own way. Father, we ask that You pour out Your wisdom and revelation upon them. Grant them visions and dreams that are clearly from You, that are pure and aligned with Your holy Word. Remove any confusion, deception, or selfish ambition, and give them a discerning heart to test every spirit and to hold fast to what is good. Lead them away from merely following personal goals and lead them into Your perfect will, that they may walk in the good works You prepared beforehand for them to do. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, increase their love for Your Word, and make Your path plain before them. Give them patience to wait for Your appointed time and faith to run with the vision You give. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life, and through whom we have access to Your throne of grace. Amen.
