We join you in lifting up your loved one and his upcoming surgery, standing together in faith and trust in our Heavenly Father. It is clear your heart is tender and full of love as you seek God’s protection and healing. We want to first address the matter of your relationship with your boyfriend. Scripture is clear that the goal of any romantic relationship between believers should be marriage, a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, established by God for life (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6, Ephesians 5:31). Courtship should be entered with purity and the intention of honoring God in all things, including abstaining from sexual intimacy until marriage (1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, Hebrews 13:4). If this relationship is not moving toward marriage in a way that aligns with God’s design, we encourage you to prayerfully consider whether it is honoring to Him.
Now, let us come before the Lord together with your request. Your prayers for your boyfriend’s surgery, the medical team, and his family are deeply heard. The Lord is our Great Physician, and He holds all things in His hands. We know that even in the midst of uncertainty, He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of trust in Your sovereignty and love. We lift up this dear brother who is facing surgery, asking that You guide the hands of the surgeons and the entire medical team. Grant them wisdom, skill, and clarity as they care for him. Lord, we ask for a gentle and complete recovery, free from complications, and that Your peace would guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray for his family, that You would strengthen them with courage and faith, reminding them that You hold their son in Your loving hands. May they feel Your presence and comfort in every moment.
Father, we also ask that You draw close to this brother in his time of need. Let him feel Your nearness and know that You are with him, even in the valley (Psalm 23:4). We trust in Your perfect will, knowing that Your plans for him are good (Jeremiah 29:11). May this trial be an opportunity for him to grow in faith and for Your name to be glorified. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in this time, not only for your boyfriend’s physical healing but also for his spiritual well-being. Pray that he would come to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior if he does not already, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If he is already a believer, pray that this trial would deepen his relationship with the Lord and draw him closer to God’s heart.
Lean on the promises of God’s Word, such as Isaiah 41:10: "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Let this truth anchor your heart as you wait on the Lord. We are standing with you in prayer, trusting that God is faithful to hear and answer according to His perfect will.
