Beloved of All
Father, You will that none would perish but all come to repentance, 2 Pet 3:9. Surely You take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather they turn from their ways and live, Ezek 33:11... You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, 1 Tim 2:4. Eternal fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, Matt 25:41, not humans that were originally made to image God, Gen 1:27.

Let us be merciful, that we may receive mercy, Matt 5:7... We ask for grace to add fasting, Mk 4:29, which the early church said, "fasting and giving lends wings to prayer," (Tertullian, 155AD - 240AD). Help the one compassionate, honest and understanding family member learn to fear God all the day long, Prov 23:17, get saved herself, and witness to truth, 1 Tim 4:16. Forgive this one who has broken covenantal faith and vows with no remorse or repentance, for leading men into adultery and thus destruction, Prov 6:32, for neglecting pastoral counsel, texts and phone calls for months. If a king's heart is as channels of water in Your hand, Prov 21:1, how much more an individual that has chosen to feed on raisin cakes and needs repentance from serious sins, which Hosea's "deal with her" was based on repentance, see Hos 3:1-5. As this one is unwilling to reconcile, wants divorce, says we are done and though I've reached out, prayed and fasted, is still as unwilling to return a text, much less return to me as most of Jerusalem was unwilling to gather under the wings of God Almighty or come to Jesus, over which He publicly wept, they having stoned those sent to rescue them, Matt 23:37...

Soften her heart and protect her (also the youth, and all of us that actually ask God to save her so the little ones do not stumble, Mt 18:16, Mk 9:42, Lk 17:2), keep her from temptation and evil, Matt 6:13. Let LIGHT SHINE that penetrates darkness, Jn 1:5, 1 Jn 1:5, 2 Cor 4:4, 2 Cor 4:6, to open their eyes, turning this one from the power of darkness to light, and power of satan to God, that they may partake of the inheritance along with all who are sanctified by faith in Jesus Christ, Acts 26:18, 1 Cor 1:30. Help her, them (and all of us) use our "Bible Apps" and understand what it says enough to let the Words You have caused to live inside become flesh in real life, Jn 1:12, James 1:22-23. Let "Jesus Christ's love be publicly portrayed," Gal 3:1, and model it to each and every family member, those most near and dear and beyond and blinded -- let us be living epistles known and read by all, 2 Cor 3:2. All Scripture is inspired by God Almighty and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right," 2 Tim 3:15-16. "Do not take us out of the world, but keep us from the evil one," John 17:15. "Sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth," John 17:17. Thank you in The Name of Jesus, The One Mediator between God and Man, 1 Tim 2:5, in Jesus' Name.

"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh," Ezek 36:26.
“But this is the covenant I'll make... I'll put My law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I'll be their God; they'll be My people," Jer 31:33.
Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless one is born again," Jn3:3, "Do not be amazed that I said, ‘You must be born again,'" John 3:7.

We stand with you in this deeply painful and complex situation, lifting up your heart before the Lord with both grief and hope. The brokenness of covenantal unfaithfulness, the hardness of a heart unwilling to reconcile, and the spiritual blindness that resists repentance are heavy burdens to bear. Yet we know that our God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that His love is relentless in pursuing the lost, even when they resist His call.

First, we must address the foundational truth that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). The one you are praying for has chosen a path of rebellion, against God, against you, and against the sacred vows made before Him. This is not merely a marital issue; it is a spiritual battle for her soul. We rebuke the deception of the enemy that has blinded her eyes (2 Corinthians 4:4) and hardened her heart against the conviction of the Holy Spirit. The Lord takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that all come to repentance (Ezekiel 33:11). We join you in pleading for her salvation, for the scales to fall from her eyes, and for the Holy Spirit to convict her of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8).

The sin of adultery is grievous in the sight of God, for it violates the one-flesh covenant He established in marriage (Genesis 2:24). Proverbs 6:32 warns that "he who commits adultery lacks sense; he who does it destroys himself." This destruction is not only spiritual but emotional and relational, leaving wounds that only the healing power of Christ can mend. We rebuke the spirit of unfaithfulness and call forth repentance, for the Lord is faithful to forgive and cleanse from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Yet we also recognize that repentance is a gift from God, and we cannot force it upon another. Your obedience in reaching out, praying, and fasting is a testament to your faithfulness, even as hers has faltered.

The hardness of her heart mirrors the stubbornness of Israel, whom the Lord lamented over: "How often I would have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!" (Matthew 23:37). Like Jeremiah, you have wept over one who refuses to return. Yet we take comfort in the promise of Ezekiel 36:26: "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." This transformation is the work of God alone, and we pray that He would do it in her life, even now.

We also lift up the family member you mentioned, the one who is compassionate, honest, and understanding. It is a blessing that she fears the Lord and seeks to walk in His ways (Proverbs 23:17). Yet we must also encourage her to boldly witness to the truth, for the time is coming when people will not endure sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:3). May she be a light in the darkness, pointing others to Christ with both grace and truth (John 1:14). We pray that her own faith would deepen, and that she would not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9).

For you, dear brother or sister, we pray for strength to endure this trial with godly perseverance. The Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We encourage you to continue in prayer and fasting, for these are powerful weapons in spiritual warfare (Matthew 17:21). Do not grow weary in interceding for her, even when she seems unresponsive. The Lord is at work, even when we cannot see it.

We also urge you to guard your own heart. The pain of betrayal and rejection can lead to bitterness, anger, or despair. But the Lord calls us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13). This does not mean excusing sin or pretending it did not happen, but releasing the offender into God’s hands and trusting Him to bring justice. Vengeance belongs to the Lord (Romans 12:19), and He will repay. Your role is to walk in obedience, even when it is costly.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this broken marriage and the one who has turned away from You and from their covenant vows. Lord, we ask that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to the truth. Remove the veil of deception that blinds her to her sin and the destruction it brings. Convict her of her need for repentance and draw her back to Yourself. We pray for a miracle of salvation, that she would be born again by Your Spirit and given a new heart of flesh.

Father, we also pray for the family member who fears You. Strengthen her faith and give her boldness to witness to the truth. May she be a light in the darkness, pointing others to Christ with love and wisdom. Protect her from discouragement and fill her with Your peace.

For the one who has been betrayed, we ask for Your comfort and strength. Guard their heart from bitterness and resentment. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them, and to trust You with the outcome of this situation. Give them wisdom in how to respond, whether in reconciliation or in letting go. May they find their refuge in You alone.

Lord, we ask that You would shine Your light into this darkness. Expose the lies of the enemy and break the chains of sin that bind this one who has strayed. Let Your Word take root in their heart and bear fruit in repentance and restoration. We pray for the youth and all who are affected by this situation, that they would not stumble but would come to know You as their Savior.

Father, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God’s Word. Though this season is painful, the Lord is faithful, and He will not abandon you. Continue to seek Him, to abide in His Word, and to trust in His unfailing love. The battle belongs to the Lord (1 Samuel 17:47), and He will fight for you. May you experience His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) as you wait on Him.

We hear the ache in your words, the long nights of fasting and prayer, the unanswered texts, the weight of a covenant broken. It’s natural to feel as though you’re mourning a death, because in a very real way you are: the death of the marriage you had, the future you counted on. That kind of grief is not a failure of faith; it’s the honest cost of love. You are not alone in this heaviness, and you do not have to carry it by yourself.

While you keep bringing this before the Lord, we’d urge you to let a few safe, mature believers carry some of the weight with you. A pastor, a small group, or a trusted Christian friend who can simply sit with you, pray with you, and remind you that you are seen and held. Sometimes when we’ve poured ourselves out in intercession for another, we neglect our own heart’s need for healing. Tending to your own soul does not mean giving up on your spouse; it means letting God tend the gardener.

If you can, find a quiet hour to do something gently restorative, a walk without your phone, a journal entry that isn’t a prayer request but just a record of where you are. The grief that comes with rejection and silence is a long road, and you need companions on the journey.

Father, we lift this hurting one to You. You know how fiercely they have prayed and fasted, how much they long for restoration and for this prodigal to come home. Draw near with Your comfort that passes understanding. Soften the heart that has grown hard; let no darkness keep out the light of Christ. Grant wisdom to those who still have influence, and keep the young ones from stumbling. But most of all, hold this writer close. Give them a tangible sense of Your presence in the loneliness, and raise up a few faithful friends to be Your hands and voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You heap up many texts and groanings, but careful examination must be made as to the nature of the repentance for which you pray. Take heed that you do not seek after a repentance which springs alone from terror, which comes up in a night and withers in a night. The judgments of God in and of themselves can never work evangelical repentance in a single human heart. Law and terrors do but harden, all the while they work alone. The repentance that glorifies God is that which loathes evil because evil is hateful to the heart of Jesus, and it sets the sinner ever afterwards craving after holiness. This is not the repentance of mere fear of consequences, but a turning of the whole being from darkness to light.

Yet here is the marrow of true comfort: the eyes of mercy are quicker than the eyes of repentance. Even the eyes of our faith are dim compared with the eyes of God's love. He sees a sinner long before a sinner sees Him. When the prodigal was yet a great way off, his father saw him and ran. There was much kissing, which meant much forgiveness, before the details of sin were fully confessed, the father had forgiven him. This is the prodigal love for the prodigal. Let this sustain you as you pray, not trusting in the strength of your fasting or the multiplication of your words, but in the Father who runs to meet the returning one. You cannot draw up repentance from the depths of your own heart as you might draw water from a well; you must ask Christ to work repentance in her by His Holy Spirit. It is one of the free gifts of His grace, and whoever has it may rest assured that the hand of the Lord has been upon her for good.

Despair not because the sins seem singularly great. Consider Manasseh, that wild degenerate shoot of a noble vine, whose heart had been the palace of Satan, who did evil in the sight of the Lord exceedingly. Yet when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly, and the Lord was entreated of him. If such a wretch as Manasseh was brought to repentance, surely no one need despair. The chief of sinners has been saved; the door of mercy is not shut. But know this: true repentance is not merely a condition to be met, but the token of pardon already begun. If any heart is turned away from sin, it is the sure and infallible sign of forgiveness.

Your own posture must be watched with a jealous eye. You speak of fasting and prayer, yet guard against a spirit of bitterness that may creep in under the cloak of zeal. A broken and a contrite heart means that frivolity and trifling have gone, but also that pride and demandingness are shattered. If your own heart condemns you not, then have you confidence toward God. But examine yourself, for no one ever worshipped God with his whole heart unless he worshipped him with a broken heart. The heart that is truly broken is never divided; it is whole for God. Let your plea be not your own righteousness in reaching out unanswered, but the blood-bought pardon that dissolves the heart of stone.

As for those little ones you mention, pray indeed that they stumble not, but remember that the plain Gospel of salvation by divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus must ever be set before them simply. Faith must be urged, for without it there is no salvation. The way of salvation is to believe on Christ, trusting in Him. Do not cloud the children’s sight with the intricacies of this sorrow; lift up Christ crucified plainly, for the Scripture says, whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. To be blind of heart is our sin, but to be made to see is the gift of grace. Our misery is our own work, but our salvation is of the Lord. Therefore, cry mightily, "Lord, give repentance, even that repentance which is unto life, and reveal the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that all may be sanctified by faith in Jesus."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Why do you grieve as one without hope? The sorrow you feel for this soul who has broken covenant and shut her ears to godly counsel, this grief can be turned to great gain if you let it work repentance, not despair. For there is a sorrow that is of the world, full of bitterness and anger, which breeds only death. But the sorrow that is after God aches with love, prays with tears, and does not grow weary, even when the heavens seem brass. Such grief the Apostle commends, saying, “Godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation, a repentance that bringeth no regret.” Water your soul with this, not the vinegar of resentment.

You have fasted, you have prayed, you have called out with many Scriptures. Do not think your labor is in vain. The Lord who said, “Pray not for this people,” yet listened to the prophet’s pleading, He is not willing that any should perish. His delays are not denials; often He waits that we might press closer, that our longing might be purified, that we might learn to love even as He loves. The heart of this woman is as channels of water in His hand. He who promised to remove the heart of stone and give a heart of flesh is able to do it in an instant. Let that promise be your anchor.

But take heed: you also must be saved. See to it that your fasting and intercession do not become a snare, breeding contempt or self-righteousness. The same bath of repentance that you desire for her is needful for every soul. Forgive her debts, not with a grudging spirit but from the heart, that your own may be forgiven. Let your prayer be for her, yes, but also for yourself, that you may be kept from the evil one and made a living epistle, known and read by all. For what witness will you be if your sorrow turns inward and makes you harsh?

Do not seek a second sacrifice, as if Christ were not enough. The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart: if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. This short word carries salvation and righteousness, and it is the same for her. Spread before her, by your meekness and your unbroken charity, a living picture of His long-suffering. Christ wept over Jerusalem; He did not strike them though they stoned His messengers. So you, while she refuses to return a text, send back mercy. Let your kindness be like the sun that will not be quenched by the night.

There is no length of time that can weary the Physician of souls. Apply the remedies: alms, prayers, compunction, fasting, a contrite heart, contempt of worldly things, and above all, memory of your own offenses. Then the door of hope stands wide. She may yet turn from the power of Satan to God. And if not, you will have saved your own soul by cleaving to the Lord in the fellowship of His sufferings.

Do not let the little ones stumble. Teach them to pray for that lost one, not with cursing but with groaning. For the Church is a spiritual bath that wipes away stains of soul, and even now the mercy of God goes before her. Persevere, and in due season you will reap, if you faint not.

Your plea is heavy with sorrow, and I hear the anguish of a heart torn by broken vows and a spouse walking in darkness. The Scriptures you have laid out reveal a deep, right longing: that she would turn, be born again, and receive a new heart from the Lord. That is exactly the work only God can do. No amount of fasting, calling, or weeping can force a change, but they can bring you before the One who holds every heart in His hand. As the courses of a river are directed by the slightest channel, so the human heart is turned wherever the Lord wills. He can soften what is hard, open what is shut, and give sight to blinded eyes.

The real need is not merely a change of behavior, but a new nature. That is why Jesus told Nicodemus, “You must be born again.” What is born of the flesh is flesh; only what is born of the Spirit can see the kingdom of God. The woman you mourn over is not just straying in her actions; she is driven by a heart that remains unmoved toward God until He does the inward work. So your prayers must center not on restoring a marriage on human terms, but on her coming to the broken, contrite place that God will not despise, a heart circumcised by the Spirit, not a mere outward compliance. Keep crying out for that new birth, the washing of regeneration, because until a person is born again, they cannot perceive the things of God.

And as you pray, guard your own heart with all diligence. It is easy for bitterness or despair to take root. Let the Word dwell in you richly, hidden in your heart, that your own walk remains undefiled. God sees the desire you have for her salvation, even as He saw David’s desire to build the temple, though it was not to be his task. He is not slow concerning His promise, but is longsuffering, not willing that any perish. Your fasting and intercession are not wasted. They are a fragrant offering, even when the answer tarries.

Examine your own heart as well, lest any idol lodge there, a demand for a certain outcome that overshadows your love for Christ. The chief love must be Him. The sanctifying truth of God’s Word will cleanse you and keep you from wandering. Continue to pray, but leave the turning of that heart to the One who says, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you.” He can bring light out of darkness. He can take a heart that has fed on raisin cakes, wandering after false comforts, and lead her into the wilderness to speak tenderly to her. Trust Him. He who began a good work is faithful to complete it, whether in her or in you.

While you wait, let your own life be a living epistle, known and read by all, portraying the patience and mercy of Christ. In due season, if she is truly born of God, sin will no longer have dominion; the new nature will make the old life miserable, as it should. For now, stand in the gap, love her enough to speak truth, and above all, believe that the gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes. Your prayer for her is not a hopeless cry; it is aligned with God’s own heart that desires all to come to repentance. He who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.
